What the Hail! (UU)

Inspired by this thread I created a UU Hail Team that has been working pretty well the past few days on Shoddy. Without Further Adue:

Snover (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 252 HP/4 Spd/252 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Protect
- Toxic
- Leech Seed
- Blizzard

Obviously Snover needs to be on any hail team to get the hail going. However, this set provides snover to be less useless than one might think. It easily comes in on bulky waters and support Pokemon. With leech seed in it stalls extremely well. Blizzard is probably the most replaceable move in this set if anyone has suggestions, although it is useful to KO anything weak or Grass types.

Walrein (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Ice Body
EVs: 220 HP/240 Def/48 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Protect
- Substitute
- Toxic
- Blizzard

Pretty Standard Stallrein. Helps break walls and does a decent job of killing offensive attackers like Gallade by stalling them out with toxic and hail support. Blizzard does good damage when STAB'd under even without anything invested into SpA.

Froslass (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Snow Cloak
EVs: 32 HP/252 Spd/224 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Blizzard
- Spikes
- Thunderbolt
- Substitute

The thread linked at the top has a long discussion about whether or not Frolass is broken or not, and with good reason. STAB Hail Blizzard coming off of 350 speed is nothing to scoff at. Bolt it there for the classic BoltBeam combo. Sub and Snow Cloak are a fearsome Combo. Just contineously subbing until the opponent misses or is in KO range make this set BL. Spikes are useful when special walls drop in (Chansey, Uxie, etc.). Umbreon is the biggest threat to this beast, and arguebly to the whole team.

Dusclops (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/126 Def/4 Spd/126 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Will-o-wisp
- Pain Split
- Seismic Toss
- Shadow Ball

Originally I had Blissey in this spot, but I came to realize that I desperately needed a fighting resist, so I brought it Dusclops. He does a good job of walling away Gallade and other scary physical attackers with WoW and good typing. He also is, in my opinion, the best spinblocker in the metagame. I need a suggestion to replace Shadow Ball, because I find myself never using it and opting for WoW or Seismic instead.

Articuno @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/96 Def/40 Spd/96 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Roost
- Toxic
- Blizzard
- Heal Bell

As previously stated I stopped using Blissey, but I still needed a status clearer so my Pokemon can stall away (especially 'Cuno and Stallrein). Roost and excellent defenses (90/100/125) allow for awesome durability. He handles the ever popular Venusaur easily and can take a hit from the ever dangerous Honchkrow and then proceed to KO him (I could adjust EVs to outspeed all Honch if I want, but I don't think it is necessary with Cuno and Dusclops.). The one problem with Articuno is the Stealth Rock hurts him badly but . . .

Blastoise (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SDef
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Rapid Spin
- Surf

Blastoise fufills the necessary job of Rapid Spin on this team. With 3 2x weak Pokemon and 1 4x weak Pokemon to rock attacks Spinning is absolutely imperative. I had cloyster here, but he lacked the survivability that Blastoise has, even without taking Hail damage. Blastoise blocks fire Pokemon like Blaze, Moltres, Camrupt and Arcanine from stomping all over this team. He also provides a durable physical wall that can take hits from other dangerous Physical attackers.

Please rate my team. Thank you.

I see no reason for Subsitute on froslass, i'd suggest replacing it with Shadow Ball or Taunt. On Dusclops you can give it something like Shadow Sneak, so your team can have some priority.

Hi there, nice UU hail team. Your Stall-Rein should have Super Fang over Blizzard. Super Fang halves the Hp of any poke, which is nice against like steelix and other pokes who resist toxic and blizzard. Like Pwnage said, your dusclops should pack Shadow Sneak over Shadow Ball. While the difference in power is noticable, you gain priority which allows you to pick off frail pokes. On your snover, if you want to replace Blizzard, replace it with Ice Shard which again provides priority. Which is a must in a metagame with priority pokes like hitmontop, azumarril, etc.

I know this seems weird but I suggest using a flash fire poke on your team, I know you have blast for them but it can't LO dark pluses from houndoom or t-bolts from magmortar I suggest that you use the bulky arcanine from the smogon analyses. I can spread status and stop sweeps in thier tracks this should replace cuno. I also think that donphan would be great for this team taking blast's spot because it can spin and put up sr which is get for a stall team. I dont really like hail stall that much because sweepers like blaziken and aggron now with head smash can destroy them. I think that if you add that it will help alot.

Honestly, SR hurts Articuno. I suggest Glaceon in its place, since it still has very nice defenses, and Heal Bell. Though you do lose the instant recovery, you gain the threat of a brutal STAB Blizzard.

If you think Blastoise is good enough to Spin at will, keep Articuno, but if not, you may want to consider Glaceon.

Anyways, hope I helped, good luck with the team.

1) I agree that walrein shoudl have superfang, but also brine, with 32 turns of hail for offenzive pokes trying to break it, and superfang plus brine plus hail for others.

Superfang halves health, hail brings them bellow 50% and brine doubles in power when the opoenent is bellow 50%, this is a new tactic thanks to heartgold, and it is destructive, if they resist brine then you just stall with 32 turns of hail, but wiht superfang it has the same effect as 64 turns as you can halve there health and effectively double the amount of pokes you affect with hail. Ok I explained it badly, but it is a great set and should not be so easilly overlooked.

2) I also suggets toxic spikes support from a cloyster which can back up as a physical wall, perhaps over frosglass as you already have a ghost.

3) your snover sucks lol, give it somethign that can actual help your team, protect can be good perhaps with ice shard to revenge kill later on, but the best move it has acces to is magic coat, this can send taunts and hynosiss' back to the oponent and is the only notible move that snover has access to.
