Congratulations to Lilburr for winning with their Whimsicott submission! This week's team comes from Juno!

:ss/milotic: :ss/weezing-galar: :ss/celebi: :ss/cobalion: :ss/flygon:

" I built this team around Competitive Milotic + Toxic Spikes. This set can be a nightmare for offensive and balance teams alike, as they lack a way to stop it if it gets a Competitive boost from Defog. This set also safely comes in on the two most common Defoggers, Noivern and non-Thunderbolt Rotom-Wash. The EV spread outspeeds base 60s and OHKOs Celebi after rocks at +2. A Celebi of my own provides a sturdy check to Keldeo, as I am not using defensive Milotic, and a rocker, along with a pivot with U-Turn. Since I already have a rocker and need some sort of way to punish Knock Off, Occa Berry Cobalion works wonders and can easily shred through teams with Stone Edge hitting Noivern, Golisopod, and Araquanid. Choice Band Flygon may seem out of place, but I thought it would be a cool way to punish greedy Toxtricity and Rotom-Wash users looking to get free momentum. It can also lure in bulky Water-types that think they can wall Flygon, only to take a lot of damage from Earthquake. What's my last?"

Darmanitan @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- U-turn
- Flare Blitz
- Rock Slide
- Earthquake/Zen Headbutt

This team lacks speed control. A scarf Darmanitan here is quite helpfull. Zen Headbutt is a lure for keldeo because we run an offensive milotic.
With Darmanitan, we have a solid water/fire/grass core.
With the tspike, Darmanitan is a big threat, because bulky water pokemon like milotic, gastrodon don't want to get poisoned

Careful Nature

Incineroar patches up a lot of holes in this team - the relative Noivern weakness, lack of pivot into Chandelure and Celebi and the general over-reliance on offensive Milotic to perform defensive roles. It also functions as a check to Necrozma which is otherwise a big threat to a team that has Band > Scarf Flygon.

This team seems weak to Fairies (no offensive Sylveon switch in) and Cobalion and this set can strongly check both. As I'm typing this, I realize Chandelure might be even better because it abuses Toxic Spikes too but it doesn't switch into Sylveon nearly as well or beat Stone Edge Cobalion.

Flare Blitz is picked to beat Sylveon and the EVs are sort of RNG but the Speed beats Sir Fetched and the SpD bumps you up to 200, a nice pretty even number.

Congratulations to Lilburr for winning with their Incineroar submission! The original pokemon on this team was Toxic + Hex Boots Chandelure, which provided a check to non SE Cobalion, and a way to put extra pressure on bulky waters, especially loving the tspikes support.

I wanted to include a team with one of the new Pokemon we gained with DLC, so this week's team is one of my Scyther teams!

:ss/scyther: :ss/roserade: :ss/cobalion: :ss/sylveon: :ss/noivern:

"Scyther is a really exciting new Pokemon we got instantly due to it being an NFE. Boots + a 120 BP flying stab move have been a huge blessing for it, allowing it to be a pretty decent wallbreaker in UU with its decent speed tier (albeit unfortunately not 110). Its long term defensive checks are basically limited to Rhyperior, so Roserade is an absolutely fantastic partner for it, while providing spikes and the opportunity to sleep powder shared checks like Copperajah/Noivern. SD + 3 attacks Cobalion with an Occa Berry provides an excellent wallbreaker, that complements the former two by luring in Noivern, and pressuring Steels further for Rose. CM Sub Sylveon gives a switch in to Sylveon, and a further wallbreaker that can help wear down Scyther/Roserade's checks. A bulkier noivern provides a check to Escavalier for Roserade, offensive check to Keldeo, and an excellent revenge killer/cleaner, while further assisting roserade with u-turn support. Scyther and Noivern can nicely overwhelm flying resists together too, making this particularly nice. What's my last?"

Been playing a decent amount of UU lately since Keldeo is fun to use, so I am going to nominate fellow PUBL mon Golurk as a potential sixth slot!

Golurk @ Colbur Berry
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
IVs: 0 SpA
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Poltergeist
- filler (Ice Punch? Stone Edge?)

Reasoning: First impression, I thought that the team needed a Stealth Rock setter that matched the offensive playstyle. I was deciding between Rhyperior and Golurk because both have their own merits, one being a far better defensive mon while one was a better offensive threat, and ended up going with Golurk. It helps break down bulky threats this team might struggle with such as Rhyperior and Bronzong while Colbur Berry allows it to have a better matchup against Incineroar. Ice Punch is a possible last slot to hit something like DD Flygon while Stone Edge nukes Araquanid.

EARFQUAKE. (Rhyperior) @ Leftovers
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 252 HP / 16 Atk / SpD / 24 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Rock Blast
- Stealth Rock
- Swords Dance

This team needs a way to block Toxtricity, an actual incineroar switch-in, and Stealth Rock. Rhyperior does all of this in spades while also appreciating how well this team abuses things like Keldeo or Milotic that often get free chances to get in on Rhyperior.

As we want to push this project into DLC meta asap I'm going to put this to voting with 2 submissions for once. From next week onwards, I'm going to be trialling having 2 mons removed instead of one, to hopefully increase the volume of submissions, which can be fairly limited in number with only one Pokemon removed due to there usually only being a few good choices.

Team - :scyther: :roserade: :cobalion: :sylveon: :noivern:

Submissions -

Dreamcatcher - :golurk: (colbur rocks)
faded love - :rhyperior:

Voting ends as soon as we get a few votes so we can put up the new week!

Congratulations to faded love for their Rhyperior submission, noting that this especially helps with Toxtricity and Incineroar. The original pokemon was Golurk, whiich provided an excellent Toxtricity answer, and an offensive rocks setter that could keep up with the very offensive nature of the team, but Rhyperior is also a nice pick for its ability to provide a secondary Noivern switch-in, which can help prevent Sylveon being worn down by Hurricane variants without recovery.

This week's team comes from Lilburr! As a reminder, we are now removing two Pokemon, so you will need to submit a core instead this week! All DLC Pokemon are now legal for submisisons too.

:ss/froslass: :ss/krookodile: :ss/mimikyu: :ss/passimian:

" I wanted to build some sort of hyper offense to adjust myself to the new meta. Froslass and Krookodile make for standard HO leads that can set up hazards while denying opposing hazards, while also mainting offensive presence and blocking Defog with Taunt and, in Froslass's case, blocking Rapid Spin via its Ghost typing. Mimikyu is a secondary spinblocker for the team that takes advantage of common Choice-locked Fighting types like Mienshao and Terrakion to set up a Swords Dance, giving it room to break or sweep. Passimian is a unique speed control option that's used over something like Mienshao because of Defiant, allowing it to deter attempts to Defog. What are my Lasts?"

Porygon-Z @ Life Orb
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk

Starmie @ Life Orb
Ability: Analytic
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Psyshock
- Thunderbolt
- Flip Turn

When looking at this team, the first thing I thought was "wow skarmory is disgusting vs this". So I picked out my favorite SkarmBliss smasher, PGZ. Can KO Skarm from full with Tbolt and OHKOs Blissey at +2 with Tri Attack. Starmie functions as a wallbreaker for PGZ, as well as a way to clear out faster threats due to PGZ's average at best speed. Starmie also can bring Mimikyu and Passimian as well as PGZ in for free with Flip Turn. Overall, these 2 slide in nicely in the last 2 slots of this team.

Jirachi @ Expert Belt
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature

- Aura Sphere
- Iron Head

This team really needs something to help vs the skarm matchup, and rotom-wash is pretty great at that, comes in for free and can form a nice volt-turn core with passimian vs skarmbliss and gweezing. It also helps a ton because offense like these need a floaty mon so you don't auto lose to stuff like krook and flygon, and rotom-wash's defensive typing is great on ho, you can be a sponge but still threaten offensively and not sap momentum, also taking advantage of slowking and having a good matchup vs fat is nice. Not losing to talon is cool too but it's not too common. Nasty plot is surprisingly solid, with discharge you can cripple things and not a lot of teams are prepared for it, even if you run into a grass or kyurem you can cripple with discharge then volt on it and in tandem with spikes i think it can be pretty potent. Jirachi fits nicely here because this team kinda loses to faires and noivern which washtom helps with but is still a threat, having a steel is always good, the team also looked too weak to gweezing so this can take advantage. Iron Head last because that pressures skarmbliss really nicely and breaks fat, the other three is all the coverage you need, this set also forces a lot of switches which is cool for spikes. Both mons pressure the foggers very well too, I think they fit in pretty well, and of course as i'm writing this i'm realizing that this team kinda loses to scoli but its gonna be banned in a few days so who cares.

qd liligant and sd+rapid spin drillbur complete this already devastating team (the peculiar choice of scarf fighting type on a hazard stack aside). both of these pokemon are incredibly competent sweepers and definitely have a place on a team. drillburs combination of rapid spin and swords dance makes it great against any team lacking a skarmory. this isn't such a big deal for this team because krookodile and mimikyu can both wear it down. liligant helps out with this teams issues with water types by providing a good resist that can also pressure many defensive cores.

Yes, a Slowking on an HO team. And has no recovery. Here’s what I’m thinking: Slowking provides a necessary sponge for most attackers if you happen to lose momentum. It uses Future Sight to force out attackers, has plenty of options to use Nasty Plot to threaten defensive answers while it uses Teleport to regain momentum and bring in strong teammates to pressure their switch-ins. It already has a great bulk and typing plus Regenerator so I opted out Slack Off for Scald for immediate power and to pressure physical threats.

As for Heliolisk, it provides the team with a necessary way to deal with Skarmory, plus a powerful special wallbreaker alongside Slowking. The set is pretty standard, dual STABs, Volt Switch for forming a Volt-Turn core with Passimian (and Slowking) and Surf to hit Ground switch-ins respectively. Its speed tier is also great for revenge-killing Terrakion and Keldeo, though missing out on Lycanroc and Scolipede, but they can be combated with Passimian and a ban vote from council respectively.
