Their names are: Raccuri, Pufflap, Bushby, Chacaw, Argaze, Wichu and Embirch.

I love the scizor.

Also, the first one CAP 5 poke looks like Deoxys + Rayquaza and the second one looks like Eevee + Manectric + Electabuzz
 
Very nice work: the poses look natural. Have a blurring brush you could use to smooth out the edges on the "First real attempt at a Sugimori art"?
 
It's funny everyone should say that, as the Scizor picture is the oldest one there. I drew it around 2 years ago, before Platinum was even announced, and way before it could learn Bullet Punch. :P
 
Very nice, the shading is spot-on, but still, something seems a bit off about the border lines. Is it the line thickness? Anti-aliasing? Compare Ignicub with Torchic:

EDIT: Done. Wonder what was showing up otherwise.
 
All three of those starters look great! You've got the Sugamori style down perfectly. I can easily imagine those starter designs ingame. Axolitl is my favorite.

I agree with Lorak that something is off on the outlines. I think it's probably a simple linewidth problem. Make your outlines a pixel or two wider and I think it will solve it.
 
The lines are pretty thick on the full-size art. I thought they were a bit too thick, but apparently not...
Anyway, I'll add some of my sprites to the first post.

EDIT: Sprites are up!
 
How did you make those starters??
The sprites are good, but Ambipom seems to have a very light outline, it seems very dull as well. Maybe a darker outline in some parts would help, I dunno. :/

They're just rough sketches. That's the way I do them :P

Anyway, a small update; I've fixed Embirch slightly and sprited its evolution.

I dunno if i said this in the SS thread, but I have a few points on ...the middle one...

Firstly, do you use 64x64? coz if not then i think it should be larger..
I feel that its a tad too dark, some outlines on the raised cannons are missing s well, There should be more shading on the main body as well, maybe with more contrast in luminosity maybe....
Otherwise looks great!
