Wigglytuff

QC: / /
GP: /

Overview
########

  • Great HP stat, which contributes to Wigglytuff's longevity.
  • Unique typing in Normal / Fairy with only two weaknesses and a handful useful resistances.
  • Very wide movepool, with a lot of coverage options as well as several supportive moves.
  • Rather okay abilities in Competitive and Frisk, all of which provide decent utility for Wigglytuff.
  • Low defenses on both sides which let down Wigglytuff's excellent HP stat.
  • Extremely slow for an offensive attacker and a defensive Wish Passer.
  • Faces competition from Mega Audino because of its superior bulk, but its niche lies in it not taking up a Mega slot.
Anti-Lead
########
name: Anti-Lead
move 1: Magic Coat
move 2: Stealth Rock
move 3: Solar Beam
move 4: Fire Blast
ability: Frisk
item: Power Herb
evs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
nature: Modest

Moves
========

  • Magic Coat is a utility move which bounces back any status move aimed at Wigglytuff.
  • Stealth Rock is an entry hazard form that damages opponents upon switching in.
  • Solar Beam hits the most common Stealth Rock users such as Rhydon and Seismitoad.
  • Fire Blast is another attack which hits Ferroseed and other Grass-types such as Vileplume.

Set Details
========

  • Frisk is the ability used on this set, as it identifies the foe's item which can be useful in some situations.
  • Power Herb allows Wigglytuff to launch a Solar Beam in a single turn without needing to charge.
  • Maximized Special Attack let Wigglytuff hit opposing leads as hard as possible and is boosted by a Modest nature.
  • The Speed EVs let Wigglytuff outspeed most opposing leads including Rhydon, Ferroseed and Seismitoad.

Usage Tips
========

Team Options
========

  • Shedinja is a good teammate in particular because Wigglytuff can bounce back hazards with Magic Coat which'd OHKO Shedinja.
  • Psychic- and Ground-types such as Mesprit, Uxie, and Seismitoad make for good partners for their ability to stop Poison-types.
  • in progress

Other Options
########

  • An offensive set can be used around the lines of Hyper Voice / Dazzling Gleam / Focus Blast / Ice Beam l Thunderbolt, but because of Wigglytuff's low offenses and Special Attack it isn't worth it.
  • Wigglytuff can WishPass because of its immense HP stat, but that is better done by Mega Audino because of its superior bulk.
  • Knock Off is a utility move which removes opposing items, but Wigglytuff doesn't have space for it in its movepool.
  • Toxic can put a timer to the longevity of opposing Pokemon, but Wigglytuff does not have room available for it.
  • A dual screens set can be used, but that is better done by Pokemon such as Uxie because of their better bulk.
  • Counter can damage physical attackers for a lot of damage when they hit Wigglytuff, but is unreliable.
  • Shadow Ball hits Ghost-types such as Mismagius immune to Hyper Voice, but those are better hit by coverage moves.
  • Seismic Toss can be used for constitent damage, but lacks power compared to Wigglytuff's other moves.

Already rejecting the wish pass set, its not very good I really wish (hue) it was as 140 HP wish is pretty good

There probably should be a lead set somewhere on here as thats the set I've seen people have the most success with.

lead set is the only thing it can do in NU. it's probably good enough for an analysis as well.

Ok can someone tell me what this lead Wigglytuff does that a Kecleon which can run the exact same moveset (Grass Knot > Solar Beam btw) with more power thanks to Protean, way more special bulk, and other supportive options like Knock Off or w/e? A set like this is barely OO worthy for Kecleon as it is, so if this is Wigglytuff's main set there are more issues at hand with the whole analysis here.
