NOC WikiMafia 2 Game Thread [MAFIA WIN]

GGs town, for a game that looked kinda like a stomp on the outside it definitely felt a lot closer to me than it really was. Unfortunate how poorly the game lined up with my irl schedule but I still had a good time! It always feels bad rolling scum and also rolling "busy irl" bc then people are like "where are you???? Wolf????" I really don't like lying about irl stuff for mafia games but ofc nobody knows that when I've never played here before, haha.

Shoutouts to the rest of the scum crew. Day 1 I was worried that the scum team wasn't going to gel, but actually scumchat was super fucking fun and we worked together well. Was cool finding out we had three CS majors and a friend of a close friend from outside of Smogon!

Shout outs to Tommy, Joey, and Phoopes having consistently really strong reads. I think if you all had been around more to articulate your positions, we would have been cooked easy. Joey especially... felt like you were only active on the last day, what happened with that?? :smogthink: Seriously though having reads that good after subbing in so late is INSANE lol

I also want to shout out des121 for being a very fun thread presence. Obviously you're still learning, and I think getting a role named Cop which was not at all a cop was an extremely hard position for you to play out without being very experienced. Making sense of a game like this one is tough even for mafia lifers lol and I don't think you should feel bad at all for ending up as the game-ending mislynch. If nothing else you made several absolutely hilarious posts that I will remember for a long time. Lowkey if I had been town I might 've wanted to leave you around just for that :P

thank you celever again for hosting and for facilitating a very late sub, and thank you very much joey for subbing in very late for what was a very poor reason on my head. well played mafia and im very sorry to town for dropping the ball on pretty much every single day, especially to tommy for putting you through the ringer over what i guess turned out to be literally no reason at all. glad you enjoyed the game bliz and def hope you stick around

and also not only that game aside im just sorry for making the vibe weird and arguing and being constantly pessimistic and probably making the game a lot less fun to play for every player in every regard. i really hope everyone had fun in spite of my constant sabotage and im sorry for signing up and for not leaving sooner

Honestly Psy I don't think you were bringing the game down. I mean I was concerned for your well being past a certain point. But it's not like I took it personally. Maybe townies would feel differently but I really doubt it. Actually I was going to say in my gg post that I hoped you were feeling better but I didn't want to call attention to it if you just wanted to move on lol

Frankly I thought you seemed cool and I hope you can get your head out of the state that it's been in. The very nature of this game causes it to get heated and mess with peoples' heads sometimes, so try to take a step back and remember that it's just a game and nobody is gonna die if you mess up. Ask me about the time I drove two mislynches, directed the energizer to target me as one shot vig, and directed the town unblockableizer to unblockableize me because I forgot I was inherently unblockable, and then shot two townies... we all mess up sometimes, lol.

I didn't analyze individual players closely, from what I remember your reads are solid but you sometimes struggle to convey them to other players (which is an issue that I also have). It's great if your reads are right but if nobody else believes in them, then that player isn't getting voted. And if you flip flop too often or theorycraft without explaining your thoughts, other townies may perceive you as opportunistic or fake.

I also think that a reason why you got voted off was because several townies were not used to your playstyle and incorrectly labeled it as scummy which I don't think is completely your fault.
