You cannot tell how long the journey through the mists of time took - be it a hour, a few seconds, or just an eyebeat. The portal through which you arrive still faints glowly, giving you a feeble sense of safety in the knowledge that you still have a way out of this. But the scenery before you quickly trumps any shred of tranquility you could still cling to.

The cheerful glade that you remembered from your time stands now before you as a wild, savage island. Strong winds blow all around its shores, and fierce waves clash against the rocks. The Seabreak Path is not here - you cannot tell if the raging ocean submerged it or if it formed years - centuries? - later. Regardless, you seem to only have one way to go.

As you head deep inside the woodlands, you soon find an increasing number of chopped trees. At a closer inspection, however, you realize they're not actually chopped, but charred. It looks as if someone, or something, scorched the trees to ashes, leaving nothing but their chopped bases. As you stop there to wonder what could be the cause behind this, however, you suddenly feel the ground shaking rhytmically beneath your feet... shaking as if something big were walking right behind you!

And in fact, as you turn, a gigantic creature stares before you, its reptilian eyes gazing on your minuscule figures with a mixture of rage and defiance.

Its is my charge to watch over this glade, I will see you burn before any harm comes to it.

A stream of fire suddenly surrounds a circular area around you, preventing any escape. At the same time, the creature's flaming body suddenly bursts, bathing the previously dark place in a hot, intense light!

Round 1​

Mellifera immediately evolves and fires off a minuscule, poisoned needle at Pyroak, but the beast pays back with a fiery stream of flames which leaves the wasp badly hurt. Bahamut picks up the slack and, with the help of Multitask, draws the enemy's attention with a ramming attack, allowing the rest of the team to cripple Pyroak and begin the assault unscathed. But Pyroak shrugs off the blows like they were nothing and, after crippling the Salamence with a paralyzing breath, invests him with a jet of liquid flames.

To make things worse, it seems the heated atmosphere is far more dangerous than expected - suddenly, Festivus finds himself set on fire!

Round 3​

Mellifera and Leo quickly nail the Magcargo. The fiery snail begins gathering energy, a maddening look in its eyes, but Multitask anticipates it and shields the team in advance. Meanwhile, Serenity takes the heat off the team mate Salamence, but Pyroak meets the Togekiss with a black orb of crackling electricity which leaves her paralyzed. Despite this setback, Magcargo's explosion leaves a gaping hole in the beast's defenses, which allows the team to lay the hurt on it.

Pyroak roars in pain, firing off in return a starshaped flame at Serenity and following up with a jet of liquid flames.

Pyroak: BURN, you miserable wretches!

The Togekiss survives the ordeal, but is critically wounded. And Bahamut is nowhere near ready to endure Pyroak's wrath once again. And... Festivus finds himself catching fire once more!

zarator: I'm sorry I didn't notice this earlier (My fault for re-using calcs w/o checking them, I only noticed this because it made my calcs look odd and it's not like you can crit a Pyroak ^^'), but I think you've undercalced Tomohawk's Air Slash vs Pyroak?

By my calcs that increases Tomohawk's Air Slash to 26.25 --> 26 Damage without Bloodlust (Round 1, A2, +2 DMG), Bloodlust boosts to 39.375 --> 39 (Round 2 A2, +3 DMG), Bloodlust + Explosion boosts to 78.75 --> 79 (Round 3 A2, +7 Damage), and plain Explosion boosted to 52.5 --> 53 Damage (Round 5, A2, +2 Damage). [Stat Dif] in this case should be 6.5 (11 SpA is +14, 5 SpD is -7.5). It's only 14 damage, but it's there.

Either way, that makes my life a wee bit easier. Also the fact that I forgot about Explosion damage in my calcs gives us 22 HP wiggle room.
