Team Introduction
As you may have guessed from the thread title, this a Little Cup team based around the weather condition of Sun.
Now why did I choose sun? Well, in my LC "career," the weather teams I've seen have been almost exclusively Rain-teams, but it looked to me like Sun was equally viable, so I decided to look into it. From some glancing at the Pokemon it came to my attention that the best way to run Sun in Little Cup would probably not be the same aggressive play style as Rain, but a more passive team, where the team contains both Sun sweepers, and Pokemon that function very well outside of Sun. With this in mind, my team was born.

Team Building
Strange enough, I decided to start this team with a lead. Obviously it needed to be able to start up sun, but I also wanted it take hits decently whilst still hitting moderately hard. It also needed to transition to the rest of the team well. Aipom seemed perfect!
Next I wanted a Pokemon that would sweep like no more tomorrow whilst under the sun. With a massive Special Attack and Chlorophyll, Oddish was perfect.
Of course, all teams love Stealth Rock, and I wanted a Pokemon with decent bulk and wasn't dead weight. The ability to set up sun effectively and not be bothered by that would be a plus too. And while thinking this one Pokemon in particular jumped out at me, and he'll come as no surprise...
Now my team had some physical bulk, and strong force to be reckoned with outside of the sun. A Pokemon that complimented Gligar would be perfect, and there is one Pokemon who does that all too well. I assume you've herd of MunchGar
It seemed about time for the addition of another Chlorophyll sweeper, one that could come in later and tear teams apart. Something that could incapacitate foes, and even continue raping after the sun went down. Can anyone say Bellsprout?
Now, running a Sunny Day team, I felt obliged to use a Fire type. Several ones came to mind, but when I needed a Pokemon that could not only destroy everything when sun was up, my also eat up the remains of an opponent's team after my Chlorophyllers were done. With a ridiculously powerful Overheat, and and amazing STAB to back that up, ScarfDour took the last slot.
And that was my team. Now time for a closer look...
In Depth Description
Funky Monkey (Aipom) (M) @ Heat Rock
Ability: Pickup
EVs: 76 HP/196 Atk/236 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Sunny Day
- U-turn
- Fake Out
- Return
---
A basic Aipom lead modified to set up Sun. The move-set if fairly obvious. Yes, I realize I can't do anything to Ghosts and Steels, but the point of this set is, when its first out, get Sun up then either Return to cause some pain or U-Turn to the best Pokemon for whatever scenario. Later in the game this strategy still works, but by the time he comes out again, I generally no longer need Sun, so I just use him to revenge kill.
Scorpius (Gligar) (M) @ Heat Rock
Ability: Hyper Cutter
EVs: 156 Atk/76 Def/236 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Sunny Day
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Stealth Rock
---
Ah, good old Gligar. I don't think I need to explain why Gligar is awesome in general, but on this team he is perfect. He can take the Earthquakes my Sun-Sweepers are weak to, can set up sun himself, gives me the all important Stealth Rocks, and can do some major damage himself. Stone Edge is used over Aqua Tail because sun weakens Water-type moves, if you're wondering.
Fatso (Munchlax) (M) @ Heat Rock
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 236 HP/156 Atk/76 SDef
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Sunny Day
- Return
- Pursuit
- Earthquake
---
Another LC staple, who again, works wonders on this team. He takes Ice attacks aimed at Oddish and Bellsprout, and obviously pairs greatly with Gligar. Moveset is pretty self-explanatory. This guy also works pretty neatly with Aipom, who draws in Ghosts, which Munchlax then maims.
Cannabis (Oddish) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 200 Spd/240 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Solarbeam
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Synthesis
---
This things hurts. Alot. 18 Special Attack + Life Orb + 120 BP + STAB is ridiculous. Hidden Power Fire complements it nicely, especially with boost from the sun. Slude Bomb gets some nice neutral coverage on things that resist Grass/Fire, namely Fire-types. Originally I planned to fill the last slot with Sleep Powder, however, because I play this guy early, and as such it dies early, using Sleep Powder would actually be a hindrance, because another one of team members requires sleep a lot more.
Cerberus (Houndour) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 76 HP/236 Spd/196 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Overheat
- Dark Pulse
- Solarbeam
- Fire Blast
---
ScarfDour is great outside of the sun, boasting a powerful Overheat and a STAB that hits practically everything neutral. Inside of sun, that Overheat's power goes from good to ridiculous, and that neutral STABs helps in the clean - up process after my other sweepers are down. Solarbeam hits water types hard, and Fire Blast is good when my opponent is left only with Pokemon neutral to Fire, to get a consistently high powered attack. Flash Fire is also a welcome addition to absorb those annoying Fire Attacks.
Raep (Bellsprout) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 36 HP/236 Atk/196 Spd/36 SDef
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Sucker Punch
- Swords Dance
- Sleep Powder
- Seed Bomb
---
Oh god what is this I don't even? Seriously, SD Sprout is crazy. Sleep something, heck anything because with 28 speed you out speed practically everything. Then, Swords Dance, and murder things with Seed Bomb, and kill all those who try to revenge you with Sucker Punch (or use it against those who resist Grass). The beauty of this set is that even after the sun sets you have a Pokemon with 34 attack firing of LO-boosted 80 BP priority moves.
This thing rocks

And now you've seen my team. I found it to be pretty good, but like all teams made by noobs it has its problems, and as such any suggestions and ideas are welcome!
