WooHoo My Ou Team!

Just tried pokemon lab and this is what i came up with..
Need help in Bold

Cresselia @ Lum Berry
Modest
Levitate
155Def/255SpA/100SpD

-Calm Mind
-Ice Beam
-Psychic
-Thunder Wave

--
I gave cresselia a lum berry so when my opponents pokemon

decideds to use a status inducing move I would be able to recover from it, especially poison.
Cresselia also has calm mind so i can start fainting other pokemon and at the same time i would last longer. The reason i put ice beam is because i need a counter for flying and dragon(flygon) types and after a few tries it seemed useful, but im not really comfortable with it, yet. Psychic, yes!, the STAB move i have, after a few calm minds i may be able to sweep half a team which seems to be better since i was able to finish 4 pokemons in a team using cresselia. Thunder wave for those pokemon who keeps on u-turning or baton passing and for the fast pokemons also.

Heatran @ Leftovers
Timid
Flash Fire
255Spe/255SpA

-Dragon Pulse
-Earth Power
-Magma Storm
-Will-O-Wisp

--There come a time when my cresselia is already gone and a dragon type appears, that is when dragon pulse comes to save the day(sort of). Earth power really works well since there are pokemons(lucario) who wants to destroy my heatran.Magma Storm, powerful even if not effective, i was able to defeat a starmie with it(2HKO) and heatran gets a stab from it. Will-O-Wisp to slowly defeat pokemons like dusknoir, and everything that levitates and survives magma storm.

Kingdra* @ Leftovers
Timid
Swift Swim
255Spe/255SpA

-Dragon Pulse
-Hydro Pump
-Ice Beam
-Rain Dance

--Rain daaance..♪ with its speed doubling and power doubling Kingdra becomes more powerful. Dragon Pulse is used for dragon types and for other types which resists Hydro Pump. Hydro Pump becomes more powerful with rain dance and there is a low chance that a pokemon would survive it. Ice Beam is my secondary offensive move - defeats grass type, ground type, dragon type, and flying type.

Celebi @ Leftovers
Timid
Natural Cure
255Spe/255SpA

-Energy Ball
-Psychic
-Recover
-Shadow Ball

--STAB attacks energy ball and psychic with it celebi becomes more powerful. Energy ball eliminates water, rock, and ground types, while psychic eliminates fighting, poison and well that's just about it, but it is still strong. Shadow ball helps celebi eliminate ghosts types. Recover heals celebi if there is an oppurtunity.(still thinking what move to replace recover)

Spr_4p_065_m.png

Gengar/Alakazam @ Leftovers
Timid
Levitate/Synchronize
255Spe/255SpA

-Energy Ball/Focus Blast
-Psychic
-Shadow Ball
-Thunderbolt

--Speed and Power these two pokemon are my all around type sweeper. They can cover their weaknessess. The pokemon i choose between them depends on which I prefer. Energy Ball for those ground and water types. Focus blast eliminates the main pokemon which kills me, dark types. Psychic and Shadow Ball STAB for Alakazam and Gengar, respectively. Thunderbolt gives alakazam and gengar more type coverage.

Persian @ Sticky Barb/Flame Orb/Toxic Orb
Jolly
Limber
255Atk/255Spd

-Fake Out
-Switcheroo
-Toxic
-U-Turn

--Whaa- really??! Yeah its persian the best cat pokemon. Fake out damages the foe even if it is little but a damage is damage(I only use this when I am holding Sticky Barb). After being slightly damaged by fake out - Switcheroo time. Toxic will be only used if not yet fainted. And if still alive time to switch out using U-turn and deal some damage.

Oh gods.

Look, this team needs a lot of improvement, I'll try and stick to the general structure you have so my mind doesn't break. Also, it seems that you have probably not played competitive pokemon before so some ideas about how to play better would be more beneficial than trying to make this particular team more competitive.

First of all, Cresselia makes a very poor lead. There are three basic roles a lead can take. If your team generally appreciates having entry hazards down (for instance, a Lucario with Agility loves having Spikes) a lead can try and get at least one type of hazard down (its normally Stealth Rock). Or, you can have a lead with Taunt and attacking options which stops other people from getting down hazards, which might be beneficial if you're using pokemon like Gyarados and Dragonite which lose 25% of their hp switching into Stealth Rock. Or, you can have an attacking lead, the most popular of which is Machamp, which basically just does as much damage as it can and aims to stop other leads getting down hazards that way. Everything at the start focuses on hazards.
Thinking about that, Cresselia MUST be a terrible lead since she can't lay down or stop hazards. She seems to be a kind of CM sweeper / TWaver, both of which Cresselia CAN do, just not right at the start of the game. Uxie can work in the same vein, except it has SR, U-turn, and generally better options for leading. Cresselia is a wall, and it can make a decent late game sweeper with Calm Mind, but such a strategy will never work if you start on turn one.

Your Heatran set is plausible if kind of bizarre (I'm not even going to talk about you having the EV's wrong). Magma Storm is useable but generally inferior to Fire Blast due to accuracy; its normally used for trapping counters, such as Blissey and Suicune, and then Exploding on them to enable other pokemon to sweep. It just seems like you're kind of mishmashing different roles into one, none of which it can then perform particularly well.

Meanwhile your Kingdra is Rain Dancing, which doesn't benefit any of your other team members except Celebi, while weakening Heatran significantly. Its Hydro Pump is powerful in Rain, sure, but none of its other attacks are since they are unboosted. Something like Vaporeon, Celebi etc etc would just laugh at you. There are a number of better sets Kingdra can run. Since you shouldn't be using it in Rain on this team, sets such as ChestoRest, SubDragonDance, and Choice Specs are all good. Look at the site analyses for Kingdra.

Celebi lacks offensive prowess unless boosted by Choice Specs or Life Orb, so your really won't do much damage. Psychic and Shadow Ball are both poor moves on Celebi anyway. Again, please look through the different sets on the site's analysis of Celebi and do some reading.

For RMT's you have to have just 6 pokemon so you can't really mention both Gengar and Alakazam. Gengar is generally the better pokemon due to its far better typing. However, your set for it is horrible. In particular, when you have 4 attacking moves (which often isn't a good idea except on Choice users), running Leftovers on such a frail pokemon is terrible.

I don't want to tell you why Persian is bad, btw, so I'll skip it.

Anyway, don't try and continue this team. What I'd recommend doing is lurking on this site a lot, reading a couple of things. Firstly, read the site analyses for at least the main sets of pokemon in the OU tier. Then, read examples of good teams and RMT's by going into the RMT archive in this subforum. Then, go to the warstory archive and get a better idea of common strategies and so on.

Sorry if that came off harsh. Do a bit of research and good luck in the future :)

The max EV investment in one stat is 252. Every EV above that does nothing to increase your stats and you are essentially wasting four EVs that could raise a third stat by one point (there are always two extra EVs that don't actually do anything), as you will see if you look at the Pokemon analyses in the Strategy Pokedex. Seeing that you are new to Smogon, I would highly recommend you read this article.
Alright, let's see what I can knitpick. First off, why are you using Rain Dance on a Kingdra, when you have a Heatran, who uses fire moves? Also, try updating the set, as Magma Storm set isn't that reliable.

Don't use Cresselia as a lead. Use her at a Dual Screen setter upper, in-case you want to bring up some Reflect or Light Screens to benefit your team. Or you can use her as as support, but NOT for a lead, as many leads will outspeed it, and taunt it.

Let's see, what else....
Gengar is generally the better pokemon due to its far better typing.
This is true.

Honestly, this is a pretty bad team with a bad set. Like what bubbly said, don't continue it.

I hope you'll get better! Don't worry, we were all shitty trainers in the past.
