Would you trade your pokemon if you wouldn't be able to clone?

Just imagine, there isn't ANY pokemon cloning trick(Item cloning still exists, though :P). Would you trade your pokemon, for something you wanted? They would both be around the same value (for example, triple flawless, +25 in all other significant stats) but you didn't really need them very much (You aren't going to a tournament and you realise you don't have your team finished)? Would you trade under these circumstances? Post your opinions.

I would trade. However, I would try to get some good offspring out of the pokemon I trade.

First of all, "I hate ingame". On the condition that I didn't hate ingame, though, I'd do exactly what you said: try to get some good offspring and then trade.

I do this now, even with cloning availablity, :P

I dunno, I guess I've always seen Pokémon to be very individualistic, so it weirds me out that (say I cloned something) someone else would have my *exact* Pokémon, stats and all (although I do acknowledge movesets can be changed easily). I think it's because I nickname almost everything so the idea of someone else having "Trigger the Groudon" just feels weird.

It could also be that cloning was such a pain in R/B/Y I never got used to cloning in general, so trades are trades to me. You think long an hard if you really want to give up something for something else and if it's worth it you go for it.

i think i wouldn't because i like and EV trained them all by myself. but, if it was someone who i didn't care about, then i would trade it away.

eh I dunno, I think I'd just breed a lot of something where I had really good parents at hand (quad/quint) and trade off any good ones I got. But legendaries, probably never

I would probably still trade anyway...

When you breed, you almost always have more then one egg that may not be exactly what you are looking for, but is still pretty decent in its own right and/or has something useful anyway.

Aye, Legendaries I wouldn't trade off, unless I had a better one (Seeing as I do own Sapphy/Emmie/Ruby (Only completed Emmie :D))

Alas, I'd trade off the spitbacks and so on and so forth

I would, trading is just part of the whole "fun" so yes. You're not going to trade a pokemon unless you get something good in return so basically, you always get something good in replace.

Hmm, if I were to get something I needed vs something I knew I wouldn't.

Example being if I had a quad-31 Kyogre, knowing I'd never use it, I trade it for an equally good Poke that I would/want to put in my roster.

Probably not. But you could always just keep the parents as unlimited molds, or something, and keep hatching them when someone wants one. But I don't think I would. ;)

I release most of the stuff that i breed thats not tradeable in todays conditions. Mainly due to the fact that the one i settle with is the best of the bunch, so the others arent worth shit. If I couldn't clone I'd trade the stuff that i now release

No way,I would keep it for myself and just breed another if possible,OMG,i couldnt live without cloning

It would depend for me. If I was bored, I might breed pokemon I wasn't intending to use and then trade them, but in terms of things I might someday use on a team, no.

if you couldnt clone, then the value of good parents would rise sooooo much. Also, people would be much less picky about good legends.
