Wrath of the Gods! - Hyper Offence!

Welcome to the...
Wrath of the Gods and Titans

Like the title says this is a hyper offensive team. The members of this team are offensive powerhouses that can muscle their way through most walls. When my prediction hat is on this team can potentially 2HKO most of the meta-game. Constructive criticism and complements are much appreciated. Without further ado the team!

Tartarus (Haxorus) (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Mold Breaker
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)

- Outrage
- Dual Chop

- Brick Break
- Earthquake

Tartarus, a dark void of nothingness, essentially hell... is where this guy will send you. Haxorus is almost always my lead, unSTABBED super effective moves fail to OHKO Haxorus allowing me to exact my revenge with the appropriate move (aka Outrage). Although being banded somewhat leaves little to no room for prediction error, however Outrages raw power backed up by STAB and choice band rips massive holes in the walls that attempt to stop my reign of terror, in most cases Ferrothorn is 3HKO'ed with leftovers by Outrage. Dual Chop beats Substitute users and leaving a significant dent in their HP afterwards. Although Dual Chop does break Multi-scale, Mold Breaker negates it, in other words I get the KO regardless (unless it has set up prior to Haxorus being send in), most people bring their Dragonites in on Haxorus thinking they can take a hit. They can't. Brick Break and Earthquake are mainly fillers but are useful to guarantee the KO's on Rotom-W and Tyranitar.

Hades (Gengar) (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)

- Substitute
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Thunderbolt

Hades, the Greek God of the Underworld. Gengar is a soul collector much like Hades is so the name fits. This Gengar has cleaned up for me many times, often Gengar is the last pokemon my opponent sees. Shadow Ball and Focus Blast give me perfect coverage. Thunder Bolt is used of Hidden Power Fire to keep my perfect speed IV intact allowing me to outspeed all unscarfed Latios' that run HP fire by a single speed point, in reality Thunder Bolt is a filler by beating Latios beneficial over having Hidden Power Fire as Focus Blast also gets the job done when encountering Ferrothorn. Substitute allows me to escape status effects and ease prediction. Life Orb > Leftovers allows me to ensure more damage on opposing pokemon that are neutral to my moves.

Poseidon (Rotom-W) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 28 HP / 252 SAtk / 228 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)

- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Trick

Poseidon, Greek God of the Ocean. Rotom-W can spray a large amount of water at hit opponents. Close enough. Anyways Rotom is the first scout of the team. Speed EVs out speed neutral natured Choice Scarf Darmanitan's, Modest 252/252 Scarf Rotom's. Right now I am unhappy with one thing about Rotom, and that is the Hidden Power Type. Fire is essentially useless as It barely 3HKO's Ferrothorn. I am considering replacing HP Fire with Grass or Ice. An opinion on this would be great!

205.gif

Hyperion (Forretress) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 176 Def / 80 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)

- Volt Switch
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Rapid Spin

Hyperion, Titan of Light (I think)... anyway this is Forretress. Most teams need Stealth Rocks and Forretress is my answer to this. He can setup Rocks and Spikes with me having to sacrifice a team slot and he can spin as well. What more could I ask? Scouting? I got that cover. 5th gen gave Forretress a new toy in the name of Volt Switch. It allow me to bring a faster pokemon in with Forretress taking the hit. What a team player!

scrafty_animated_sprite_by_devinwarriors-d38jdou.gif

Pallas (Scrafty) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Shed Skin
EVs: 36 HP / 252 Atk / 220 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)

- Dragon Dance
- Drain Punch
- Crunch
- Ice Punch

Pallas, a minor God of war. Despite the name, Scrafty is a huge game changer. He is the resident fighting type of the team and currently he is doing a bloody great job! This is the standard DD set. Nothing else to say, except Shed Skin is an absolute life saver! Allowing me to continue to setup or sweep while status'd because at +2 or +3 it's basically game over.

555.gif

Ares (Darmanitan) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)

- Flare Blitz
- U-turn
- Rock Slide
- Superpower

Ares, the God of War. Darmanitan is the very definition of beast, while Haxorus is monster. Like Haxorus, Darmanitan absolutely rips massive holes in teams. Having a 416 Attack backed with 433 speed (thank you choice scarf) is a match made in heaven (or hell). With a Sheer Force boosted STAB move coming Darmanitan's massive attack is going to hurt anything not called Heatran, which is decimated by Super Power. U-turn for scouting. Rock Slide from a second Sheer Force boosted move to beat other Fire types (not called Heatran). Nothing much else to say.

Nit Picks!
  • No Priority
  • Weather and I have a love hate relationship, this team either crushes or is crushed by weather, I want to crush weather all together

I suggest switching your Rotom-W with either Calm Mind Latias / Choice Scarf / Specs Latios.

You could also add a Magnezone over Forretress to trap Ferrothorn etc, because you are destroyed by rain teams.

I can see a Scarf Politoad absolutely destroying you, it can OHKO Gengar, Haxorus, Darmantian, 2 HKO Forretress and has a 20-25% chance of OHKOing Scrafty. Al-tough it would have to switch in and out, rain also limits Darmantian.

Calm Mind Latias / Choice Scarf Latios:

Latios (M) @ Choice Scarf

381.gif

Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Surf
- Psychic

380.gif

Latias (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Recover
- Psychic / Hidden Power Fire
- Dragon Pulse / Hidden Power Fire

I think you should try and get taunt into your haxorus moveset.
This will stop people thinking they can set up on you as a skarmory can easely take any hits from haxorus , but without its roost/whirlwind/spikes he will soon figure out it was a mistake to come in on haxorus.

@Kaazier Why would I change Rotom to Latios, give a reason at least so you can justify that happening. Magnezone was on the original team however he felt like dead weight after his job was done, and assuming Ferrothorn was on a rain team the hidden power fire would be negated. Also a Modest Ice Beam coming from a politoed cannot OHKO haxorus at full HP without a critical hit, there are very few things that can take an outrage from haxorus and politoed is certainly not one of them.

@Soulfly Skarmy hasn't been a problem for me as I haven't seen one used, even if taunt was a valid option on a choice band set what move you consider replacing, Outrage deals respectable damage to Skarmory anyway, managing to tear between 30%-35% of Skarmory's health in one shot; which is pretty beast, besides I have Darmanitan and Rotom to check skarmory and Forretress to spin.

Thanks for Rating! :)

Oh right its a choice band set.
As for 30-35% dammage on a skarmory , that is nothing , 3 turns of outrage most likely still wont kill and then it can roost , set spikes, in that situation skarmory wins ( i use a skarmory , i love it xD just because its unexpected nowadays)
You might want to consider going to a dragon dance set , this gives you the effect of choice band + scarf without having tho lock into 1 move . Then again you would have to drop 2 moves allready. I would personally go for :

Haxorus @ life orb/leftovers
Mold breaker
Jolly/adamant nature
Moves:
Taunt
Dragon Dance
Outrage
Earthquake

This set has a nice coverage , for a tyranitar and his kind you have earthquake.
As for anything else taunt + outrage should kill as they cant heal up anymore.

Then again , that is just my taste :D But i remember that haxorus isnt that fast so can be outsped rather easy.

I agree with Kaaizer on replacing Rotom-W with specs Lati@s, as Rotom-W slows you down too much.
edit: Specs Starmie (dunno how I forgot about it) is also an attractive option.

I am fairly certain that this physically-inclined team has better options than Gengar. Maybe a CB Multiscale Dragonite would prove adequate:

Dragonite @ Choice Band
Adamant Nature
252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
- ExtremeSpeed
- Fire Punch
- Outrage
- Waterfall

It is a nice clutch to use when you absolutely have to get rid of a threat. However, this change would leave you rather vulnerable to Swords Dance Lucario...Experiment as necessary.

I believe that Forretress has no place in a Hyper Offense team. I suggest you to use some other Pokemon for Stealth Rock. Deoxys-S is a choice candidate. You can run the Dual Screen set:

Deoxys-S @ Light Clay
Timid
252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
- Light Screen
- Reflect
- Taunt
- Stealth Rock

or a mixed sweeping set that I borrowed:

Deoxys-S @ Life Orb
Rash
4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
- Hidden Power Fire
- Psycho Boost
- Stealth Rock
- Superpower / Low Kick

Once again, experiment, etc.

If Skarmory and/or other Bulky 'mons are proving troublesome, try running Hi Jump Kick over Drain Punch on Scrafty. Tinker around with the nature, item, and ability.

Finally, if Excadrill is irksome, consider running a LO Nape with Mach Punch over Darmanitan.

I think you should switch Rotom-Wash to Specs Starmie.

Starmie @ Choice Specs
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Thunderbolt
- Psyshock
- Ice Beam

Specs Starmie is able to hit hard and has huge coverage. Timid over Modest to outspeed threats such as Gengar and Latios. Hydro Pump for STAB. Thunderbolt for bulky water types. Psychock is the secondary STAB and is helpful against Conkeldurr. Ice Beam provides nice coverage and takes down Dragon-types and Grass-types. Hope I helped and good luck with the team!

If you want to add a bit ofa bulky element to the team I would reccomend Bulk Up Scrafty over DD Scrafty. It can take a LO Latios Draco Meteor and still have half his health left.

Hi,

I find that Sand sweepers like Landorus / Terrakion / Excadrill are a big nuisance for this team because of both an inherent lack of weather changing ability and your Forretress, who is set up bait for all of these sweepers and doesn't quite fit in with your Heavy Offense theme. You may want to consider a Lead Deoxys-s, which will allow you to keep your SR and Spikes and let you keep up momentum in your favor.

Deoxys-S @ Focus Sash
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 244 HP / 12 Atk / 252 Spd
Nature: Jolly
~ Stealth Rock
~ Spikes
~ Superpower
~ Fire Punch / Taunt

The 12 Attack EVs are to guarantee you a KO vs. Tyranitar, which is helpful if the opponent has a Gengar weak team or something. On the subject of Gengar, you should run Pain Split over Thunderbolt to help you with stall, since Tbolt isn't giving you much coverage anyway.

Additionally, TR Reuniclus, which is gaining popularity, is a pain to play because once Trick Room is up, it can OHKO your whole team with impunity. Bulky SD Scizor is a great check to this Reuniclus and offers you a great Dragon resist. Darmanitan is definitely the weakest link in this team, which is why I suggest replacing it with the above scizor. This would be the set:

Scizor @ Leftovers
Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 40 Atk / 216 SpDef
Adamant / Careful
~ Swords Dance
~ Roost
~ Bullet Punch
~ Bug Bite

This patches up a weakness to Reuniclus, Terrakion, Lati@s twins and offers great priority in Bullet Punch.

Rotom-w can try HP Ice instead of Fire to deal with Dragonite and do more damage to Thunderus. If you find yourself stuck versus Sun teams, LO Mamoswine and Terrakion are definitely things to consider using.

Good luck
