Hi, thanks for opening my thread =] Hopefully you'll have some advice for me. This team is more defensive than I usually play, which is why I'm making this RMT thread.
I had heard of, but never encountered the "Celetran" combo. Soooo, I thought I'd use it myself. It's worked pretty well and it's fun to use, but I think the rest of my team could be more in sync with Celetran than it is now.
Aerodactyl
Pressure
Jolly
Focus Sash
252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 HP
Rock Slide
Stealth Rock
Earthquake
Taunt
The fastest suicide lead out there. And he works pretty well for me. I have two flying types on my team, so I thought packing an anti-Stealth Rock lead would do me some good. Being able to lay down SR myself more than half the time is pretty nice too.
How he matches up.
Azelf- The main reason I chose Aero. I Taunt, I Stealth Rock, and If I'm lucky, I'll gt a Rock Slide in there.
Aerodactyl- It's a Gamble of who gets to Taunt first. I just give in and use Rock Slide first. I usually win that way.
Roserade- Same as Azelf.
Infernape- I take the inevitable Fake Out and then I Earthquake it. If the ape falls from that- great. If not, I'll use Rock Slide to kill it (if it doesn't kill me first), and then lay down SR if I can.
Machamp- Taunt just in case he tries to set up a sub. Then I lay down SR.
Heatran- Earthquake. Earthquake. Earthquake. Yeah...
Swampert- Ugh... annoying. They always assume I'll Taunt first, so I just lay down SR instead and take an Ice Beam. Then I use Taunt so they can't use SR. If I live after this I switch to Gyara.
Jirachi- Switch to Heatran and set up a Sub.
Forretress- Taunt and then SR.
Gliscor- Taunt, use SR and then Rock Slide if I can.
Skarmory- Taunt. It's worthless now.
Tyranitar- Taunt, SR and then Eartquake if I can.
Hippowdon- Taunt. lol
Gyarados
Adamant
Leftovers
156 HP / 72 Atk / 96 Def / 184 Spe
Waterfall
Stone Edge
Dragon Dance
Taunt
When I decided to use Celetran I knew I needed a bulky water type. For a fraction of a second I thought Vaporeon is a good choice. Then I realized why I never used Vaporeon. I've hated it for the past 10 years. Okay, moving on. I love Gyarados. Using his bulky build combined with DD gives me the bulky water I wanted and a potential team sweep (it's happened many times). He covers almost all the weaknesses of both Celebi and Heatran and while packing Taunt, he serves as a great Pokemon to stop my opponent from setting up. Something my team seems to really hate
Scizor
Technician
Adamant
Choice Band
248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spe
U-Turn
Bullet Punch
Quick Attack
Pursuit
I know. No Superpower. I used Scizor for a while with Superpower and I hardly ever used it. Quick Attack however, has proved it's use to me over and over again. It's just great for that weakened Zapdos or Gyarados. I use Scizor for the same reason anyone else does. To scout, revenge kill, and to attract fire for a possible Flash Fire boost for Heatran.
Celebi
Bold
Leftovers
252 HP / 220 Def / 36 Spe
Grass Knot
Recover
Earth Power
Thunder Wave
The Cele in Celetran. Paralysis support is something my team really enjoys- Gyarados has an easier time setting up, Togekiss may not have to waste a turn using it himself, Heatran can get a sub up a little easier... And Celebi enjoys it as well. I don't have any electric attacks on my team, so Grass Knot comes in handy for the water types. Especially Gyarados, since this Celebi has the defenses to take him on. As well as forming the Celetran combo, she pairs nicely with Gyarados. Taking little damage from electric attacks and having the defense to take most rock attacks.
Togekiss
Serene Grace
Calm
Leftovers
252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Protect (replaced with Encore)
Wish
Air Slash
Thunder Wave
I was thinking I needed something on my team to take special based hits, and I just didn't think Blissey or Snorlax fit this team. So I went with Togekiss. And he's been pretty reliable. Flinch haxing is great (cheap, but whatever) and as I stated before, my team enjoys paralysis support. He's another ground resist and Heatran likes that. The tried and true Wish+Protect combo works great for scouting the opponent's team and healing my own. Especially Heatran if he's set up a sub or two, or Gyarados in the case that Aero failed to negate SR. The type coverage on this Togekiss is poor, but sweeping is not really what he's meant to do.
Heatran
Naive
Leftovers
252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Fire Blast
Explosion
Substitute
Earth Power
The tran in Celetran. My team sometimes has trouble with bulky water types. So Heatran goes boom on them and my troubles are solved. I try sending her out after the opponent scores the first KO, so they usually think she's a Scarftran ready to revenge kill. That's when I get to use Substitute on their switch, and go from there. Heatran is my only reliable switch in for ice type assaults aimed at Cele or Toge, and in most cases the Pokemon using those moves are KOed by Earth Power *cough* Empoleon and Jirachi *cough*
Soooo, this is my team! I'm open for any changes or suggestions, so don't be shy. Thanks for your time!
