X Gon Give It To Ya

Hi y'all I've been using this team and doing fairly well(so far 1599) and was hoping to get some constructive criticism on improving the team. Upon creating the team I knew I wanted to use Charizard X, in my opinion one of the most viable megas in OU at the moment. With it's superb typing and excellent attacking stats it can catch people off guard and when it does it hits like a truck.

Ra(Charizard)@CharizarditeX
Ability: Blaze/Tough Claws
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 Hp
Adamant Nature
-Dragon Dance
-Flare Blitz
-Dragon Claw
-Earthquake
Charizard X in my opinion is one of the most under-looked Megas. The fact that Charizard receives two Mega evolutions allows you to bluff being a Charizard Y. Mega Evolving negates the water and electric weakness present in basic Charizard and Charizard Y, a correct prediction of an incoming water or electric type move allows you to get off a Dragon Dance which is pretty much all you need to sweep. Baring choice scarfers and priority you'll be out-speeding most of what threatens Zard X and hitting like a truck. Dragon Claw is there because I don't like being locked into Outrage, both are viable. Charizard X is the main sweeper of my team it's here to hit several things as hard as possible and go out in a flare blitz of glory.

Robin Williams(Landorus-T)@Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Hp / 252 Def / 4 Atk
Impish Nature
-Knock Off
-Stealth Rock
-Earthquake
-U-turn
The second member of my team Landorus-T is here to negate ground attacks aimed at Charizard X and to soak up any rock type attacks meant for Charizard X. With 145 base attack Landorus-T hits hard even without full attack investment. Intimidate plus max defense lets Landorus-T take any hit from an un-boosted physical attacker. Knock Off is amazing this gen, some Pokes are completely shut down by it and if a team isn't prepared for it they're not going to enjoy it whatsoever. Stealth Rock is necessary because hazards are still awesome. Earthquake simply for STAB. U-turn to keep momentum with the rest of my U-turn/Volt Switch pokes.

Rotom_Hydro_Pump.png

Jamaican Bobsled(Rotom-Wash)@Assault Vest
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Hp / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Calm Nature
-Hydro Pump
-Volt Switch
-Discharge
-Hidden Power Fire
Rotom-W is one of my favorite Pokemon this generation, so I know I wanted it on this team. I know the nature and EV spread are odd but in practice it works. Max defense let's it take pretty much any physical hit and also wall threats like Talonflame. Assault Vest and Calm Nature let it take any of the special hits coming it's way besides grass. It's move set is pretty standard, Hidden Power Fire is there to take out any steels that have been weakened late game.

poopshield(Aegislash)@Weakness Policy
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 Hp/ 252 Atk / 4 Spatk
Brave Nature
-King's Shield
-Shadow Ball
-Shadow Sneak
-Sacred Sword
Aegislash is one of the most powerful Pokemon in OU, it hits hard Physically and Specially, and because of it's ability is bulky Defensively and Specially. This Aegislash set is pretty standard. Max Hp to survive a super effective attack to activate its Weakness Policy. After a Weakness Policy Aegislash can take out or severely damage an opponent's team if they're not prepared for it. Aegislash is on my team for boosted priority, and also as a mixed sweeper.

Latinos(Latios)@Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spatk/ 252 Spd/ 4 Hp
Timid Nature
-Defog
-Draco Meteor
-Psyshock
-Energy Ball
Surprise Defog~ Latios is here for Defog support, Rocks are extremely harmful to my team if Charizard is un Mega evolved, and hazards are annoying in general so it's good to have some way to get rid of them. I know having rocks on one member and defog on another may seem redundant but its good to have a way to get rid of hazards for sure even at the cost of your own. Life Orb Latios hits hard and without the need to defog it serves as the main special sweeper for my team. Draco Meteor for extremely powerful stab, Psyshock for special walls, Energy Ball is for bulky waters but mainly for other Rotom-W.

Ban Me(Genesect)@Choice Scarf
Ability: Download
EVs: 128 Atk / 128 Spatk / 252 Spd
Lonely Nature
-U-turn
-Ice Beam
-Iron Head
-Thunderbolt

The last member of my team is one of the most contentious in OU, Genesect, I personally believe it's a little too good but I'll use it till it's gone : ). Genesect is the other star of this team outside Charizard X and is here to clean up whatever is left after X has gone on it's rampage. Genesect is an excellent mixed sweeper, with a Choice Scarf outside other Choice Scarfers or priority you're free to go for whatever move would do the most damage based on type or your Download boost. U-turn is great for stab and keeps up volt/turn momentum with Rotom-W and Landorus-T. BoltBeam is there for type coverage. I chose Iron Head over Flamethrower for Stab and to kill any fairies that would want to harm Latios or Charizard X.

Well, that's my team it's been doing fairly well so far, but it does still have its fair share of problems so any criticism or suggestions are welcome. Thanks

Importable: If you're gonna use the team keep the nicknames please!!~

I really like this team a lot, and if you're 1520 with it (which is around top 200 right?) then you're obviously doing it right. How do you get away with an adamant nature on zard, doesn't he need all the help he can get speed-wise or do you find that it doesn't matter? I could just see something like Jolly choice band garchomp (or a CB wall-breaker faster than charizard) causing problems, you have bulk, but no massive walls (like fully invested ferrothorn/chansey, etc...), I guess the team puts out enough damage to where you dont need a true wall. Anyway, nice team :D

This team look pretty solid. I would recommend some changes to your sets though. First, would be swapping Energy Ball for Thunderbolt on Latios. Thunderbolt hits Togekiss and Mandibuzz hard, while still hitting Azumarill. Change your Aegislash to a Quiet nature with 252 in SAtk. You want to come in, force a switch and hit something hard with a Shadow Ball. Sacred Sword is there to cover Tyranitar, Chansey and Blissey and Shadow Sneak to clean up the mess. I would also recommend Spooky Plate for more consistent damage output, but that is up to you. I'm sure Weakness Policy can be very effective. You may want to consider Discharge over Thunderbolt on Rotom-W since you don't have any status inducers on this team. There is only a 10 bp difference this generation and potentially crippling one or more of your opponents Pokemon could win you the game by itself. Lastly, would you mind explaining your EV spread on Genesect? I Like the mixed set too, but I'm think more investment in SAtk would better.

1520 Isn't too great it's about top 400 but It's at least on the ladder which I'm proud of lol. As far as jolly choice band Chomps go...I really don't run into them but they could be a pretty big problem if Landorus-T or Aegislash aren't around, The team is hyper offense esque but Rotom-W and Landorus-T are wall-like enough that I'm still free to switch and as they both have a switch out move I can keep up my momentum.

Good suggestions, I probably will switch out Thunderbolt for Discharge I never really considered it but the Paralyze chance would be a god send to my team. The EV spread on Genesect was to ensure that it got 300 plus in each attack stats. The EV's bring Genesects SpAtk to 308 and its Atk to 338 which gives it enough power on both sides to be a mixed sweeper. The focus on Attack over Special Attack is just to ensure that Gensect's two STAB moves U-turn and Iron head do a butt-load of damage. I had been thinking about switching out Iron Head for Flamethrower which is viable and if so I'd keep the EV investments but switch the nature to plus Special Attack rather than Physical.

Hello, first I'd like to say good job. This team is extremely well built. I don't think that you should change any of the pokemon in this team as they all cover and have synergy with each other. Now, onto my proposed changes.

You may want to consider swapping knock off on landorus for stone edge. It is the premier talonflame counter on your team in my opinion since your rotom is specially based. It will be able to stop a late game sweep by the speedy phoenix against your team. It also adds coverage to its moveset. However, I do understand the harassment factor with knock-off. Play around with it and see what suits you as each have their own merits.

My next change would be instead of energy ball on latios, you use either thunderbolt or surf. I would suggest tbolt for this team specifically so it covers more pokemon. Energy ball really only works for rotom like you stated, but rotom is unable to do any serious damage to latios anyways. It can cover other water types but outside of the occasional gastrodon, thunderbolt is the preferred option as it deals more damage.

Finally my last change would be on genesect. It needs a speed boosting nature to be a better choice scarfer, so I would suggest a naive or hasty nature over lonely since it has a rather mediocre 99 base speed. I would also change its ev spread from 128 att 128 sp att to 252 in one and 4 on the other. Being a jack of all trades makes it miss out on taking out threats on either side of the spectrum even with download boosts and this can cause you to lose momentum using genesect.

Edited the first post to reflect the team's new ladder score, now 304 on the ladder rather than in the 400's. The change in Rotom-W's set from Thunderbolt to Discharge is present in the RMT as well as the importable, Thanks again to Speed Boost for the suggestion, Discharge has been doing much better than Thunderbolt, relatively the same damage and it's gained me some paralysis.

I'm keeping knock off over stone edge firstly because I absolutely hate stone edge, I'm one of the people who calls it "stone miss" because it never ever hits for me especially when I need it to. Landorus-T doesn't really need stone edge for Talonflame because it's Intimidate forces Talonflame to switch or get knocked off. The only set that wouldn't switch are no item boosting sets with acrobatics which are rare as all hell.

I have been considering the change to Thunderbolt but the last couple of matches energy ball has really come in handy against not only rotom-w but was able to ko a Tyranitar at half health on a predicted Tbolt. Although I probably will be changing to Thunderbolt soon as it pretty much is just the straight up better option.

As far as Genesect goes it's one of the things that's working really well on the team and the only thing I might do is change Iron Head for Flamethrower.

Thanks for the comments guys, If theres any other criticisms or advice please post them, I'm eager to improve this team.
