XY UU Xatu's fortune

So this is basically my first team developed, and may not be the strongest by to me is really fun to use. The team is built around Xatu and Dewgong, currently my two favourite pokemon (can't wait for there mega's). I won a few games by catching the opponent off guard, not knowing these uncommon pokemon and how they are played.

Xatu @ Choice Specs
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 4 HP / SpA 252 / Spe 252
Timid Nature
-Psyshock
-Heat Wave
-Grass Knot
-Trick

1. Favourite pokemon plus magic bounce
2. Magic Bouncer, Special Sweeper, Choice specs tricker
3. Heat Wave for steel/grass, trick for stallers and scrafty

Dewgong @ Leftovers
Ability: Ice Body
EVs: HP 252 / Def 128 / SpD 128
Calm Nature
-Toxic
-Stockpile
-Hail
-Rest

1. Second Favourite pokemon, how could you hate the underwater puppy?
2. Staller, Great late game staller, weather messer, poisoner
3. Bulk and let hail and toxic do its work, with double recovery. Yes a weaker version of walrein, but good counter to suicine, vaporeon, milotic, swampert.

Flygon @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: HP 2 / Att 252 / Spe 252
Jolly Nature
-Earthquake
-Outrage
-Dragon Claw
-Stone Edge

1. Awesome looking pokemon, tho should be bug/dragon
2. Revenge Killer, Physical attacker
3. Stonequake for great coverage, dragon claw and outrage to allow the option of not locking in, and late game all out power. U turn doesn't seem to work well with this team. Good for noivern, hydreigon, goodra, honchkrow, togekiss, mega aerodactyl

Meganium @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: HP 252 / Def 90 / SpD 166
Bold Nature
-Leech Seed
-Aromatherapy
-Giga Drain
-Synthesis

1. MVP of the team.
2. Leech seed + bulk + healer
3. Can switch in to anything, just heal and let the helmet and seed to damage. Medic of the team, helping dewgong and regirock stall all day long

Swampert @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Damp
EVs: HP 252 / 56 Att / SpD 200
Adamant Nature
-Curse
-Earthquake
-Avalanche
-Rest

1. Needed a lead pokemon
2. Lead, sweeper
3. Catching teams off guard with curse. Avalanche great coverage flying/dragon. Needed for Florges. Hide if a team has grass pokemon, wait till they are out then set up sweep. Makes a good lead with xatu to scare bouncing and doesn't mind knock off which xatu does not like

Regirock @ Assault Vest
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: HP 252 / Att 52 / 206 SpD
Impish Nature
-Stone Edge
-Power up Punch
-Drain Punch
-Ice Punch

1. Another surprising pokemon to never see used
2. Wall, one-for-one pokemon
3. Assault vest gives superior bulk. Counters mega aerodactyl, lucario, mega absol, chansey, darmatin well. Power up punch + drain can set up nice sweeps

So I have been using this team for quite a while, do well winning beating common sets but can't seem to step up to the 1200+ level. Counters were mentioned as without them they cause my team big problems.

1. After playing with this team again, I've noticed regirock isn't doing as well. It's a nice counter to honchkrow, lucario and absol. I tried a rest set and made switching in to meganium to aromatherapy too much. What is a good replacement for regirock that could counter honchrow, scrafty, lucario, crobat?

2. What should be Xatu's moveset. Psyschock, heat wave and trick work nice. What could be a good fourth?
-grass knot for swampert
-dazzling gleam for scrafty
-signal beam for celebi
others?
Could a imposter zoroak set as xatu confuse and allow some free set ups?

3. I'm thinking of adding u-turn on flygon for outrage. I like drago claw over outrage to allow the switching option.

4. Is there a pokemon that likes hail that would work well with dewgong setting up toxic?

1. You could try giving Diancie some love. Max HP, the rest goes in mixed defences. Moonblast, Stealth Rocks, Diamond Storm and Rest gives you a nice answer to Honchkrow/Crobat/Scrafty. Slap a chesto berry on it for quick recovery, or an air balloon to shut down Zygarde.

2. For Xatu, I'd go with U-turn/Trick/Psyshock/Heatwave. U-turn will let you hit Celebi/Hydreigon for some nice chip damage, as well as give you the momentum into someone like Flygon, who can clean up. Otherwise, out side of flying type, Espeon does what Xatu does better.

3. I'd for sure suggest putting U-turn on there somewhere.

4. As for pokemon that pair well with hail Dewgong, the only one that comes to mind is sub/pain split Chandelure. With Dewgong able to tank water/ice hits, and Chandelure taking on any fighting/grass, these two could maybe work out for you.

Here's the set:

Chandelure @ Life Orb
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Substitute
- Pain Split
- Shadow Ball
- Flamethrower

After Dewgong wears down checks like Porygon2/Umbreon, this Chandelure set should be able to put in a bit of work.

Let me know what you think :]

Wow the chandlure set worked nicely, helped with grass type that cause me trouble i.e Roserade, Amoongus, Chesnaught and Celebi :)

I also decided to move on from my favourites and upgrade, now using espeon over xatu and walrein over dewgong. Already seeing much better results.

Thanks for the help!
