tera type: Electric / Fighting / Stellar

[SET COMMENTS]
  • Xerneas is arguably the best setup sweeper in National Dex Ubers thanks to its varied coverage options, solid stat spread, great ability, and Geomancy.
  • Thunderbolt should be ran with Tera Electric and provides coverage for Ho-Oh as well as dealing good damage to Steel-types like Necrozma-DM and Zacian-C, although if Ho-Oh is a particular issue Hidden Power Rock can be opted for instead to specifically target it, as it allows Xerneas to OHKO Ho-Oh without Tera. Thunder is another viable option, OHKOing Ho-Oh and Necrozma-DM with minimal chip damage, but its accuracy means that Tera Electric Thunderbolt is more consistent.
  • Substitute blocks status that are crippling to it like bad poisoning from Toxic and paralysis from Thunder Wave and Glare and allows it to tank hits from Pokemon like Chansey's Seismic Toss and stop status like. Focus Blast can be opted for to target Pokemon like Primal Groudon and Ferrothorn that can resist most of Xerneas's hits and is extremely important to run if Xerneas is running Hidden Power Rock if not running Electric-type coverage.
  • The given HP EVs allows Xerneas to create a 101 HP Substitute which help against Chansey and Blissey's Seismic Toss, while the speed EVs allows it to outspeed Marshadow after Sticky Web or Rock Tomb, with the rest being invested into giving Xerneas max Special Attack and making it as physically bulky as possible. An alternative EV spread of 168 Def / 252 SpA / 88 Spe can be opted for instead, giving more physical bulk if Xerneas is not running Substitute, helping it have an easier time to set up against physical attackers like Zygarde-C and Marshadow.
  • Tera Electric can be ran to boost the power of Thunderbolt, allowing Xerneas to reach key damage thresholds like confirming a OHKO on Ho-Oh, while also providing a nifty Steel-type resistance, allowing it to tank a hit against Necrozma-DM and Zacian-C as well as giving Xerneas an immunity to Glare from Zygarde. Tera Fighting is to boost the power of Focus Blast, letting it OHKO Defensive Primal Groudon after Stealth Rock and 2HKO Necrozma-DM while removing all of its weaknesses, or Tera Stellar to give Xerneas a one time boost on any of its moves, letting it achieve OHKOs on Defensive Eternatus with Moonblast and Ho-Oh with Hidden Power Rok.
  • Xerneas should typically be saved until the endgame to act as best of a sweeper it can be and allow its checks like Ho-Oh and Primal Groudon to be chipped down. Attempting to take on Pokemon like Necrozma-DM and Ho-Oh on its own is not advised as both of these Pokemon have favorable typings against Xerneas.
  • Xerneas fits on a variety of teams, from hyper offense to bulkier balance structures, primarily acting as a cleaner but also operating as a mid-game wallbreaker on some offensive structures.
  • Xerneas oftentimes can struggle with Pokemon that resist Moonblast like Ho-Oh, Primal Groudon, and Necrozma-DM, so Pokemon who take these threats on like Zygarde-C and Arceus-Ground can make excellent partners. Calm Mind Primal Kyogre also makes an excellent teammate, as it directly forces out and OHKOes Primal Groudon, which is Xerneas's most common check.
  • Entry hazards from the likes of Deoxys-S and Ferrothorn, with Knock Off support from Pokemon like Yveltal can chip away at Xerneas's checks like Primal Groudon and Ho-Oh, making it a much more threatening setup sweeper.

Neutral Moonblast does more damage without Tera Electric than super effective Thunderbolt thanks to Fairy Aura. Its primary use is hitting Ho-Oh and certain Steel-types in Necrozma-DM and Zacian-C. kinda messy so i wanna read it once more after implementation. not 2/2 yet but still credit bobsican.

Expand on what Geomancy does for it, namely becoming a fast hard hitting Pokemon that's also difficult to revenge kill out of the gained bulk and innate typing.
the first line was fine as-is, it effectively conveys xern is a great setup sweeper thanks to its <traits>. no need to elaborate on everything, expanding on geomancy is dex info-y anyway. if there are any notable examples/calcs though, yeah they should be added.
Thunderbolt provides coverage to for Ho-Oh as well as dealing good damage to into Steel-types like Necrozma-DM and Zacian-C, although if Ho-Oh is a particular issue, add comma Hidden Power Rock can be opted for instead to specifically target it.
even unslashed, notable moves can be mentioned in an analysis in brief. thunder should be an OO here.
Entry hazards setters from the likes of Deoxys-S and Ferrothorn
do not feel obligated to do gp changes in qc, its not encouraged. here, u have introduced an error while fixing. "Entry hazards setters from the likes of Deoxys-S" doesnt make sense, the original "entry hazards from the likes of x" was fine.
Add a bullet point or two over usage tips for this set of Xerneas
this point is rly vague, u should try giving the writer some idea to work with
Psyshock is an opted option to allow Xerneas to beat specific specially defensive walls like Confide Chansey.
make sure to check the relevancy of everything, i removed psyshock but even if it had been kept confide chans just isnt beat by it. similarly, ogre just doesnt beat xern.
Xerneas fits on a variety of teams, from hyper offense to bulkier balance structures, primarily acting as a cleaner but also operating as a mid-game wallbreaker on some offensive structures.
this point is rly vague and needs a comment asking for expansion

Expand on what Geomancy does for it, namely becoming a fast hard hitting Pokemon that's also difficult to revenge kill out of the gained bulk and innate typing. original is fine, can maybe add a line on how geo helps it vs certain notable calcs if any tho
  • Thunderbolt provides coverage to for Ho-Oh as well as dealing good damage to into Steel-types like Necrozma-DM and Zacian-C, although if Ho-Oh is a particular issue, add comma Hidden Power Rock can be opted for instead to specifically target it. tbolt is a tera-only think cuz mb hits harder w/o. add a line on thunder even tho its unslashed. can maybe say thund koes hooh & necro w minimum chip but tera elecric tbolt is more consistent
  • Substitute blocks status that are crippling to it like Toxic bad poisoning from Toxic Toxic is the name of the move, not the status condition and paralysis from what moves?, add comma after that and can potentially allow allows it to tank a hit hits Seismic Toss requires hitting twice to break it as you know mention stoss ye from Pokemon like Chansey. Focus Blast can be opted for to target Pokemon like Primal Groudon and Ferrothorn that can resist most of Xerneas's hits and is extremely important to run if Xerneas is running Hidden Power Rock (if not running telectric / electric coverage), and finally Psyshock is an opted option to allow Xerneas to beat specific specially defensive walls like Confide Chansey.
  • The given EV spread allows Xerneas to create a 101 HP Substitute which can help against Chansey and Blissey's Seismic Toss and to outspeed Marshadow after Sticky Web or Rock Tomb, with the rest being invested into giving Xerneas max Special Attack and making it as physically bulky as possible. An alternative EV spread of 168 Def / 252 SpA / 88 Spe can be opted for instead, giving more physical bulk if Xerneas is not running Substitute. why does it need phys bulk? mention physoffensive threats probs
  • Tera Electric can be ran to give Xerneas an immunity to Thunder Wave From what foes? Please mention some and boost the power of Thunderbolt, allowing Xerneas to reach key damage thresholds like comfirming the a OHKO on Defensive Calm Mind Primal Kyogre and Ho-Oh, while also providing a nifty Steel-type resistance, add comma allowing it to tank a hit against Necrozma-DM and Zacian-C its main purpose is koing ho-oh and the steels move this up. Tera Fighting is to boost the power of Focus Blast, letting it OHKO Defensive Primal Groudon after Stealth Rock and 2HKO Necrozma-DM while removing all of its weaknesses, add comma or Tera Stellar to give Xerneas a one time boost on any of its moves, letting it achieve OHKOs on Defensive Eternatus and Defensive Arceus-Ground. Both of these are hit as hard by Tera Fairy while also retaining the boost for the rest of the match, justify more the niche Tera Stellar has over other options ye tera stellar hp rock ohkoes hooh etc. etern is somewhat ok but groundy id not mention cuz what does it do back
Add a bullet point or two over usage tips for this set of Xerneas could mention that u should try to save it for endgame or not 1v1 vs ho-oh etc
  • Xerneas fits on a variety of teams, from hyper offense to bulkier balance structures, primarily acting as a cleaner but also operating as a mid-game wallbreaker on some offensive structures. why specifically midgame?
  • Xerneas oftentimes can struggle with Pokemon that resist Moonblast like Ho-Oh, Primal Groudon, and Necrozma-DM, so Pokemon who take these threats on like Zygarde-C and Arceus-Ground can make excellent partners. Calm Mind Primal Kyogre also makes an excellent teammate, as it directly forces out and deals damage to OHKOes Primal Groudon, whicch which is Xerneas's most common check.
  • Entry hazards (revert) from the likes of Deoxys-S and Ferrothorn, add comma with Knock Off support from Pokemon like Yveltal can chip away at Xerneas's checks like Necrozma-DM and Ho-Oh, making it a much more threatening setup sweeper.

kinda messy so i wanna read it once more after implementation. not 2/2 yet but still credit bobsican.

the first line was fine as-is, it effectively conveys xern is a great setup sweeper thanks to its <traits>. no need to elaborate on everything, expanding on geomancy is dex info-y anyway. if there are any notable examples/calcs though, yeah they should be added.

even unslashed, notable moves can be mentioned in an analysis in brief. thunder should be an OO here.

do not feel obligated to do gp changes in qc, its not encouraged. here, u have introduced an error while fixing. "Entry hazards setters from the likes of Deoxys-S" doesnt make sense, the original "entry hazards from the likes of x" was fine.

this point is rly vague, u should try giving the writer some idea to work with

make sure to check the relevancy of everything, i removed psyshock but even if it had been kept confide chans just isnt beat by it. similarly, ogre just doesnt beat xern.

this point is rly vague and needs a comment asking for expansion
did both, ty!

  • Xerneas is arguably the best setup sweeper in National Dex Ubers thanks to its varied coverage options, solid stat spread, great ability, and Geomancy.
  • Thunderbolt should be ran with Tera Electric and provides coverage for Ho-Oh as well as dealing good damage to Steel-types like Necrozma-DM and Zacian-C, although if Ho-Oh is a particular issue Hidden Power Rock can be opted for instead to specifically target it. Mention hp rock not needing tera to OHKO Thunder is another viable option, OHKOing Ho-Oh and Necrozma-DM with minimal chip damage, but its accuracy means that Tera Electric Thunderbolt is more consistent.
  • Substitute blocks status that are crippling to it like bad poisoning from Toxic and paralysis from Thunder Wave and allows it to tank hits from Pokemon like Chansey's Seismic Toss. Mention sub stopping glare from zygarde too. Focus Blast can be opted for to target Pokemon like Primal Groudon and Ferrothorn that can resist most of Xerneas's hits and is extremely important to run if Xerneas is running Hidden Power Rock if not running Electric-type coverage.
  • The given EV spread allows Xerneas to create a 101 HP Substitute which help against Chansey and Blissey's Seismic Toss and to outspeed Marshadow after Sticky Web or Rock Tomb, Maybe you could reword this a bit? Right now it sounds like that the 101 hp substitute is what helps vs marshadow with the rest being invested into giving Xerneas max Special Attack and making it as physically bulky as possible. Mention the bulk helping vs priority from marsh and arceus An alternative EV spread of 168 Def / 252 SpA / 88 Spe can be opted for instead, giving more physical bulk if Xerneas is not running Substitute, helping it have an easier time to set up against physical attackers like Zygarde-C and Marshadow.
  • Tera Electric can be ran to boost the power of Thunderbolt, allowing Xerneas to reach key damage thresholds like confirming a OHKO on Ho-Oh, while also providing a nifty Steel-type resistance, allowing it to tank a hit against Necrozma-DM and Zacian-C as well as giving Xerneas an immunity to Thunder Wave from Pokemon like Giratina-O and Ferrothorn Glare from Zygarde. The thunder wave immunity is very niche and won’t come up very often. The glare immunity from zygarde is much more common and noteworthy.
  • Xerneas should typically be saved until the endgame to act as best of a sweeper it can be. Mention this being due to checks like Ho-Oh and Primal Groudon being chipped down. Attempting to take on Pokemon like Necrozma-DM and Ho-Oh on its own is not advised as both of these Pokemon have favorable typings against Xerneas.
  • Xerneas fits on a variety of teams, from hyper offense to bulkier balance structures, primarily acting as a cleaner but also operating as a mid-game wallbreaker on some offensive structures that typically struggle to break through stall and semistall teams. Most semi stall and stall structures usually have more than enough counterplay for Xerneas, and its job isn’t really to threaten stall teams in the first place.
  • Entry hazards from the likes of Deoxys-S and Ferrothorn, with Knock Off support from Pokemon like Yveltal can chip away at Xerneas's checks like Necrozma-DM and Ho-Oh, making it a much more threatening setup sweeper. Necrozma often does lose to Xerneas 1v1, I would replace necrozma with primal groudon here.
