XY UU Analysis Reservation Thread

I might as well take Milotic. Also, if they haven't been taken already/i am allowed, could I get permission to do Wigglytuff and Lanturn? I don't mind having a lot on my shoulders, and I am trying for a badge.

Ok. I am currently writing Lanturn up, and Mantine just popped into my head. It is effectively a special Skarmory (albiet, with worse typing) and it gained access to Air Slash in gen 5. Is it good enough for an analysis? If yes, I would happily give it prioroty over Wigglytuff for now simply because I have a little more experience with it.

Not QC, but I can say with relative confidence no to Wigglytuff and no to Mantine unless you make good arguments for them.

The OP isn't updated.

Just make the skeleton and wait for QC to approve/reject it. That's what koko / Royalty said on IRC iirc.

OK. Wigglytuff's only real draw over Milotic as a competitive user is probably its typing and higher HP. I won't argue for it.

Manine seems outclassed by Lanturn at first glance due to the latters better typing and movepool, however Mantine has better offensive presence than Lanturn with its slightly higher Special Attack and Speed stats and it has slightly better special bulk of 65/140 rather than 125/76. Its Stealth Rock weakness hurts, but it has 1 set that has any form of competition with Lanturn imo, being its offensive RestTalk set:

RestTalk
########
name: RestTalk
move 1: Scald
move 2: Air Slash
move 3: Rest
move 4: Sleep Talk
ability: Water Absorb
item: Leftovers
evs: 164 HP / 252 SpA / 92 Spe
nature: Modest / Calm

The EVs let it sit one speed point above 0 speed Milotic. Maxed out SpA and the rest chucked into HP. A Stealth Rock HP number is not needed due to Leftovers. Water absorb provides more switch-in oppertunities and provides healing on predicted Water-type moves. Modest to boost power, but Calm can be used to boost its special bulk. I think the moves are self explanitory.

While Lanturn does have such a set on the analysis I am writing for it, it is more defensive than this one, which is more offensive.

If it isn't accepted for an analysis, I won't mind. If it is, however, it will be good fun to do.

Well I almost died, but I finished updating all the thread links and statuses of threads.

You're welcome, Ernesto.

I'd edited everything that was in this thread but I was never gonna finish updating it if you guys kept stamping mons o.O But thank you.

Is Weezing getting analysis?
Probably not. It is outclassed as a Poison-type by the Nido Royalty both offensively and defensively, Amoonguss (once again, defensively), respectively. It is outclassed in the role of Will-O-Wisper by most users of the move, its typing is nothing spectacular and it is outclassed as a Hazer/Clear Smogger by Milotic and Amoonguss. The only reason to use it over Amoonguss or Nidoqueen is for that Will-O-Wisp, but, then again, Amoonguss gets spore which is probably even better.
