yo guys dom here. stupid shit happens but i still wanted to reflect over sm 1v1 because its quite frankly been something i've been super invested in. you probably won't be able to use most of these teams idk, haven't dropped them yet. but i would barely reccomend any to use seriously. they're mostly outdated but a fun read nonetheless. here goes nothin'.
(month 1 sm teams)
when i think of my first memory of sm 1v1, i think of this team. i used to like "heat" in oras so i kind of transfered it over to sm. the idea of this team was to be super anti-meat, pluff wasn't rly popular until sm was like maybe a year in, and gastro beat stuff like koko and also stuff like specs lele / specs gear or whatever (they used to run that, you know..). arcanine was for like zard and stuff, but pluff was actually a really good zard check bc in the first month of sm like none of them ever ran fcharge. loses to taunt gyara lol
mimikyu! ferrothorn! these mons were both super anti meta at the time. ferro honestly was super slept on before the koko ban consistently.. fire weakness sucked but man this thing was just so good. beat koko, steelium for curse mimikyu, kyub, stuff like that. beat other steels and stuff was epic. and lele and was just a good mon to cover "the tapus".

BRO i loved this team. i love this team. used to get so many 3-0s with it. dusclops was like sableye but more epic (sableye before cm was discovred in sm was poo poo), beat eq gyras, was cool. bliss was so good and i used it so goddamn much. rockium aggron i fun fact invented in 2017 but no1 gives me credit for it so lol. good zard/koko check at the time. you could change it to whirlpool to style on curse mimikyu but rockium was usually enough.
trash but non 1v1 players used to use this to get reqs and shit was very epic. double serene grace + lightningwak is gamer
THE BROKENS. ion even remember why we wanted specs kyub koko has like a substancial overlap with it (beating steels and like heatran and slowbro). but this team was epic af to use.

this was my GO TO for actual tryharding back in the day. you couldn't really go wrong with it.
i made this in like 5 seconds and it won games.. i guess that's why ppl like sm 1v1. blissey was just so good back then (beat specs gear and stuff) and with stunfisk there to sleep hax whatever like this team won a lot more than you'd expect. stunfisk was soooo epic back then, it was like the regiserp of its time.

this team like, wasn't great when i made it, is even worse now, but this is like defo my top 5 favorite teams of sm.. idk just the out of the box thinking and just not standard aesthetic was pretty influencial to what i'd later build in oras and sm.

ok this was the best team i made at the time. i made this before the pheromosa one and yeah it like wasn't bad and still isn't w chomp over lando. i had a lando-i fetish back then for literally 0 reason shit was bad. guess i was bored of garchomp and ngl lando-i has a cool design.
for this purposes this IS the old ass squad.. but yeah it loses to every water in existance but was epic to use. i actually EV'd the heracross really well at the time. unusual of me then.

these shits were so epic in 1v1lt ii, daresay era defining. the bottom ursarang was originally a snorlax and yeah double sleep was free dubs on ladder. the top team was an expirment if sleep or snorlax was broken, and snorlax was defo the problematic one. ursarang sucks.

gyffyrd made this and showed the world curse snorlax which was amaizng at beating the shit that thought they beat regular snorlax (steels, rocks, SUB MONS). this team singlehandedly got me to think snorlax was broken -> i got it banned

when ryy showed me raikou this thing beat every ladder team ever, before zeraora. post-koko pre-zera was raikou's prime imo, but no1 rly knew about it then :X
not really worth using these days bc of a horrific zeraora matchup but yeah i got some really good tour wins w this one.

i liked this team ONLY BECAUSE dragon claw kommo is so fucking funny. every sm kid thinks they win the mirror but dclaw just invalidates it its so funny bro. unironically a good set. taunt doesnt do shit. oh also i timerstalled this team to get into 1v1 lt 3.
i made this team during 1v1 LT 2 time and somehow whipped it out to great results in 1v1lt 3. shit was so epic. i tossed like a trillion ladder kids in a row bc they were all using shitty balance teams that lose to normalium pz. this team loses to every fighting type ever its epic. zeraora too prob

so yeah that's like every team i generally have super positive opinions of. teams are more important than playing btw just thought i'd share.
sm 1v1 was pretty bittersweet. the start of the gen was so fucking great cus the meta was fun, i was devloping as a player/builder, and so was 1v1 tours/community. and like my boys like uc were active, shit was so different. but i kinda stopped enjoying it as usum dropped but w/e. let's hope swsh is great. heres's my sm builder btw lol have fun lads
