Yuffie's Double Scarf Team (^O^)

248.png

Tyranitar @ Choice Band > Leftovers
Adamant / Sand Stream
172 HP / 252 Atk / 84 SpD > 236 HP / 252 Atk / 20 SpD
------------
- Crunch
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Pursuit > Stealth Rock
------------
Standard CB-Tar, can easily 2HKO physical walls like Bronzong, Zapdos, Celebi, Dusknoir, Cressilia.
Edit: I gave up Pursuit instead of Crunch because Crunch is the main STAB attack that I use for Neutral damage or when I dunno what opponents will switch in, the occasional Def drop is also nice. Also took the advice and use Leftovers in conjunction with Steal Rock, and I increased the HP EVs a bit because I thought higher HP would benefit more from Leftovers recovery.

Scizor @ Leftovers
Adamant / Technician
140 HP / 252 Atk / 116 SpD
------------
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower > Brick Break
- Sword Dance
- Roost
------------
Another relatively bulky physical attacker. It was one of my favourites before platinum (I used Quick Attack instead of Bullet Punch back then) so I definitely have to use it now that it has improved. Chose Roost (instead of Superpower) and Leftovers (instead of Life Orb) because I want to take advantage of its sandstorm-immunity and make it seem even bulkier. Chose Superpower instead of STAB X-Scissor because it could hit Heatran on the switch in (but I'm not confident that I've made the right choice of giving up X-Scissor).
Edit: I didn't want the Atk and Def drop so I used Brick Break instead.

Dugtrio @ Choice Scarf
Adamant / Arena Trap
128 HP / 252 Atk / 128 Spe
------------
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Aerial Ace
- Sucker Punch
------------
Info: Scarf-Trio is too useful on this team, it can OHKO fire types that threaten Scizor and Jirachi (Scarf-Heatran, Infernape), electric types that threatens Gyarados (Jolteon, Electirive), and those super common fighting types that counters T-Tar (Lucario, Weavile, Heracross, Gallade, Breloom). Also perfect for finishing off weakened pokemon!

130.png

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Impish / Intimidate
252 HP / 56 Atk / 200 Def
------------
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Roar
- Waterfall
------------
Info: My physical wall… resistance to Fighting/Fire/Ground makes it ideal for covering T-Tar, Scizor, and Jirachi and Intimidate the opponent on the way. Roar is essential to avoid opponents setting up because I don’t have enough offensive power to scare them off, I can also Roar opponent’s switch in to scout. Waterfall is there to hit those frail sweepers who refuse to switch out. Rest/Talk also meant that Blissey won’t be my only option for absorbing status. I know I don’t have a spinner, but I can’t think of anything that can replace this Gyarados.

145.png

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Calm / Pressure
252 HP / 66 Def / 36 Spe / 156 SpD
------------
- Thunderbolt
- Heatwave
- Hidden Power (Grass)
- Roost
------------
Info: Replaced Zapdos for Jirachi because it counters more things and it's just bulkier overall. I didn't choose Zapdos before because I didn't have a spinner and so I didn't want both walls to be SR weak, but now this is no longer a problem with Starmie around.

121.png

Starmie @ Leftovers
Bold / Natural Cure
252 HP / 240 Def / 18 Spe
------------
- Ice Beam
- Reflect > Thunderbolt
- Rapid Spin
- Recover
------------
Info: My Salamence counter, rapid spinner, reflect supporter, and status absorber all in one. Hopefully I could kill the ghosts (Gengar or Rotoms) with T-Tar so Starmie could enjoy an easier time rapid spinning. I dunno if I should give up Reflect and use Surf and increase the speed though.
Edit: Bolt-Beam to counter both Salamence and Gyarados, but... Outrage often/always OHKOs...

OLD TEAM MEMBERS:

242.png

Blissey @ Leftovers
Calm / Natural Cure
------------
- Wish
- Protect
- Flamethrower
- Stealth Rock > Toxic
------------
Info: Wish over Aromatherapy support because I got Gyarados to share status absorption already, and Wish could make Gyarados switch in more times and make T-Tar/Jirachi survive longer. Flamethrower to hit Scizor and Heracross who never stop switching into Blissey. Steal Rock over Thunder Wave because my team (with 2 super fast Scarf-users and 1 priority user) don’t benefit from paralysis too much, Toxic was also not chosen cause my team don’t stall either.
Edit: Didn't use Ice Beam because my whole team lacks any Fire move and enemy's Scizor is actually a problem for me... so I chaged it to Toxic which is resisted by Steel types that are afraid of Flamethrower.

385.png

Jirachi @ Choice Scarf
Timid / Serene Grace > Modest
80 HP / 252 SpA / 176 Spe > 120 HP / 136 Spe / 252 SpA
------------
- Psychic
- Thunderbolt
- Grass Knot
- Hidden Power (Ice)
------------
Info: Scarf Jirachi is as fast as Scarf Dugtrio! Can counter or revenge kill unsuspecting Skymin and Salamence/Gyarados with 1 DD (or at least scare them off). If I first switch Blissey into Skymin and get a SpD drop (which almost always happens…), and then switch in Jirachi, opponents are less likely to know its scarfed because they might just think I need to switch out Blissey and Jirachi just happens to be the only hope I’ve got due to its Grass/Flying resistance. Um… Grass Knot is to hit Ground types, especially Swampert. Psychic is for STAB and hax SpD drop, also hits fighting types.
Edit: Now it can't outspeed Salamence or Gyarados after 1 DD but it's still very fast.

I like the idea of having scarfers. On my old team, I had 3 scarfers. It surprised every single person I battled. Anyways...

First off, On tyranitar you may consider using Stealth Rock. It will allow you to rack up damage from switches, and also set up an entry hazard, effectively disabling all Focus Sashes. You could replace Crunch, as pursuit is useful on pokemon who are scared enough to switch out of Tyranitar.

Scizor looks fine, it has a nice set, etc. Brick break is also an option over Superpower, as you don't get any defense/attack drops, and can break the occasional screens.

Jirachi.. It looks fine, but you could use a modest nature instead, allowing you to give some more damage. you're already outrunning everything you want to, but you need to ensure that you get the KO on them before they figure out that Jirachi's Scarfed.

Dugtrio is just Standard ScarfTrio, nothing new there. The One thing you have to watch out for, is that the opponent doesn't know it's scarfed until it's too late. Don't send it in on something like Deoxys-E if you don't have to. It'll surprise your opponent if you can keep it a secret until they least expect it.

Gyarados is ineresting, as you've chosen Roar instead of Dragon Dance. Looks like it could work fine, allowing you to effectively phaze in your sleep.

To Blissey! I think that Wish And Protect is a good combonation for your team, allowing some recovery for Jirachi and others. The One thing I DON"T agree with, is using Stealth Rock on Blissey, along with flamethrower. I think that Thunder Wave would be much more useful, as you can put Stealth Rock on Tyranitar. Since Flamethrower won't always be useful with Thunder Wave, you can replace it for Ice Beam, allowing you to hit resisting Grounds for Super-Effective damage.

I just got done playing this team, I found that a problem with your team is that its pretty easy to setup on with all your scarfs. You pursuited my celebi so I knew you were CB right away, allowing me to switch in scizor and setup a free SD. CBtar is fine but I would switch jirachi to a CM version if you want some power behind it. Blissey doesnt seem to mesh with your team at all, it looks like an offensive team with blissey randomly on there. I am aware that gyrados is built to be a wall but meh, thats what it seems like to me.

OMG... if I replaced Jirachi then I no longer have double scarf >.<

Anyway, I've made those changes according to CHENN and romeojustdie's advise. But romeojustdie I don't think Blissey didn't match with this team, because I used to have 3 choice item users which means I had a lot of switching, and if I have something as reliable as Blissey it would be easier to chain switch and probably even put in some Wish support on the way, but thanks for the advise ^^

I'd keep Pursuit... as it's probably the main reason why you wanted CB in the first place. Also, I'm just curious to know how often you get to set-up SR on a CBer? Even if you do you're forced to switch, which isn't good at all. Either change it to Life Orb or get back Pursuit and give up SR. And I think you only 2HKOed Bronzong with the Def drop from Crunch, unless it doesn't have the Def EVs that it should have.

On Zapdos, you could consider Toxic over HP Grass, since HP Grass wouldn't OHKO Swampert anyway and it's not strong enough to beat most Hippowdon, but of course, Toxic won't allow you to beat the Curse-Rest version of Swampert.

Since CB-Tar don't seem to be a reliable source for SR, Roar on Gyarados might be a waste? How about using DD instead (which is the typical choice)?

Lastly, I think the two replacements are definately better than the original Blissey and Jirachi, so don't switch back... even if that means your title "Double Scarf Team" will be a lie now :)

Overall, this seems like a pretty decent team to me.

Agreeing with Beastly on Tyranitar. Instead of Choice Band, Lefties or Life Orb would be a good option for the item. Leftovers is helpful, as it allows you to switch in later in the game, and recover earlier damage, whereas Life Orb gives a nice boost to all attacks.

The reason why HP Grass is so useful on Zapdos, is because it gives it almost perfect coverage in OU, along with Thunderbolt and Heat Wave. Little to none of the pokemon in the Standard Metagame can switch into a Zapdos' attack without endangering itself. True, HP Grass does not always get the OHKO on Swampert, but it does get extremely close. With swampert being slower, it's forced to either switch or die. HP Grass takes a minimum 38% of a Max HP Hippowdon's health away. Factoring in lefties, it's a 3HKO if Hippowdon doesn't heal after the second HP Grass.

This may sound like a lame idea, but you could give it a try if you want.

If you really don't want to give up the extra power from CB-Tar, maybe you could go for Forretress instead of a physical Starmie? It could still rapid spin for you, take up the role of setting SR or even Spikes, use Reflect/Light Screen, and has the added bonus of being immune to Sandstorm.

Now you'll have both Scizor and Forrey, both of which are 4x Fire weak, but the good news is that they're the only Fire weak you got on your team (and you got 2 Fire resist). Your Dugtrio should take care of Heatran or Infernape, but that still leavs you with a host of Fire users like Mence or opposing Zapdos... I dunno, maybe a 252 HP, 252 SpD Forrey with Light Screen and HP Ice to bait in and take care of Mence (Starmie was you Mence counter right)? Otherwise put HP Ice on Zapdos or Ice Fang on Gyarados?

Or you could go for Claydol, who is also immune to Sandstorm, but then you get a lot of Water and Grass weak... :(

If Tar has SR, it shouldnt be CB. Leftovers or Lum Berry would be more appropriate. Most of the Trickers hold Scarf anyways, and Tar can cope with that item.

Because Starmie doesn't have Thunderbolt, your team might have a problem if Gyara with Stone Edge sets up a DD on Dugtrio or Scizor. Zapdos takes far too much damage from Stone Edge and your Gyara takes a lot. Dugtrio won't work due to his low attack and Rock Slide's bad bp. Have Stone Edge instead of Rock Slide and Thunderbolt instead of Reflect (Gyara can heal SR damage with Rest).

Thank you everyone! It's a tough choice on Tyranitar... I tried Life Orb and it dies too quickly, then I tried Leftovers and it doesn't have enough power... but in the end I think I will settle for Leftovers.

Now I have a noobish EV spread so any advise would be much appreciated (-_-). I'm using 236 HP, 252 Atk, 20 SpD and Adamant, hopefully that will allow me to take one more hit from.... whatever that may be (I didn't actually use a stats calculator).... hit back with one of those moves that have good type coverage, then hopefully that could make up for the drop in power per-attack.

Also thanks for the Starmie suggestion, I will change it to bolt-beam~
