Thanks to Zapdos’s great typing and strong offensive presence, few Pokemon aside from specially defensive walls such as Ting-Lu and Clodsire would want to switch into it. Volt Switch wears down common switch-ins such as Blissey, Heatran, Rotom-W, and Mega Tyranitar, bringing in teammates that punish them like Zamazenta and Kartana. Alternatively, Defog can clear away entry hazards set by Landorus-T and Great Tusk, though Zapdos sets lacking Heavy-Duty Boots struggle to reliably remove hazards. It also misses out on pivoting provided by Volt Switch. Static punishes contact attackers and pivots like Zamazenta, Tornadus-T, Mega Scizor, and Mega Lopunny. If not running Flyinium Z, Tera Flying lets Zapdos break past Landorus-T, Ferrothorn, and Gastrodon with relative ease, all while still threatening Pokemon like Annihilape. Flyinium Z allows Zapdos to muscle through the likes of Annihilape and Gastrodon. The given EV spread allows Zapdos to OHKO Annihilape with Supersonic Skystrike. Teammates like Kingambit, Heatran, and Mega Lopunny appreciate Zapdos putting pressure on their checks, as it threatens Pokemon like Great Tusk, Landorus-T, and Toxapex. Without Heavy-Duty Boots, Zapdos is very susceptible to Stealth Rock. As such, entry hazard removers like Great Tusk and Rotom-W are much appreciated. Wallbreakers like Urshifu-R and Garchomp help deal with Zapdos checks such as Clodsire, Ting-Lu, and Heatran. Mega Scizor is a notable partner for Zapdos, as it checks strong, offensive threats such as Mega Diancie and Mega Lopunny, absorbs poison for Zapdos, and forms a good pivoting core with it.

Zapdos in rain is a dangerous attacker due to it boosting Hurricane and Thunder’s accuracy, as well as destroying common rain checks like Rotom-W, Ferrothorn, and Tangrowth. Weather Ball under rain allows Zapdos to hit Landorus-T, Clodsire, and Heatran super effectively. Roost allows it to stay healthy throughout the game and consistently be able to check Grass-types like Kartana. Tera Flying allows Zapdos to break through Ferrothorn and Gastrodon after slight chip damage. The given EVs allow Zapdos to outspeed Great Tusk while also maximizing its offensive power to break foes such as Rotom-W, Ferrothorn, and Gastrodon. Pelipper is a mandatory partner for Zapdos, as it sets up rain, and can safely pivot out to it. Ferrothorn checks foes such as Weavile and Mega Tyranitar while also setting entry hazards to weaken foes such as Heatran and opposing Ferrothorn. Additionally, Swim Swim Pokemon like Mega Swampert, Floatzel, and Barraskewda can help with Clodsire and Mega Tyranitar, which Zapdos struggles to break through. In return, Zapdos wears down Pokemon that the aforementioned rain wallbreakers would struggle with, such as Ferrothorn, Rotom-W, and Gastrodon, clearing the path for them to clean up after their checks are weakened.

Thanks to Zapdos’ longevity and offensive presence, it helps provides a stop-gap to many dangerous threats like Zamazenta, Not a great example since Zama 2hko or ohko with very little chip damage depending on set, would find different option here. Tornadus-T, and Annihilape and breaks down defensive staples like Toxapex, Landorus-T, and Ferrothorn. Volt Switch can gain momentum against common switch-ins like Heatran, Rotom-W, and Mega Tyranitar. Heat Wave can hit Steel-types like Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, and Gholdengo much harder, allowing Zapdos to threaten them immediately. Heat wave isn't worth at all, you can 2hko ferro & msciz with tera flying hurri & stuff like msciz shouldn't be beating you. Defog provides hazard removal from Pokemon like Landorus-T and Great Tusk, both of whom Zapdos can take advantage of well. mention downsides of dropping volt switch, missing out on pivoting potential Static punish physical attackers like Zamazenta and Mega Lopunny by forcing paralysis on them, crippling them. reword to talk about punishing pivots such as mlop, msciz, etc. Tera Water allows Zapdos to check threats such as Weavile, Mega Swampert, and Urshifu-R in emergency situations. talk about tera flying here. Flyinium Z allows Zapdos to muscle through Pokemon like Annihilape and Volcarona Gastrodon after chip damage. The given EV spread allows Zapdos to OHKO Annihilape with Supersonic Skystrike, with the rest put in Speed and HP to speed tie other base 100s would give examples here instead of just the speed tier and to better take hits from who. Teammates like Kingambit, Heatran, and Mega Lopunny appreciate Zapdos putting pressure on their checks, with it checking and threatening Pokemon like Great Tusk, Landorus-T, and Toxapex. Without Heavy-Duty Boots, Zapdos is very susceptible to Stealth Rock, thus hazard removers like Great Tusk and Rotom-W are much appreciated. Clodsire and Heatran can both sit on check Zapdos so Pokemon like Urshifu-R and Garchomp make good teammates to help threaten them. Mega Scizor is a notable partner for Zapdos, as it checks Mega Diancie and Mega Lopunny while also absorbing Toxic for Zapdos. mention its synergy in regards to voltturn

Rain Zapdos is a dangerous attacker that many rain teams appreciated having due that its ability to threaten most Water- and Grass-types well. Rain Zap isn't a super common pick would reword slightly. It helps wear down common rain checks like Rotom-W and Ferrothorn and stops offensive Grass-types like Kartana and Tangrowth Rillaboom. Rilla isn't any good atm not worth the mention. Weather Ball in rain allows Zapdos to hit Landorus-T, Clodsire, and Heatran super-efficiently. Roost allows it to stay healthy and consistently able to check the aforementioned Grass-types. Zapdos could utilize Tera Grass to help tank Water-type attacks from the likes of Mega Swampert and Urshifu-R and to better deal with Leech Seed Ferrothorn, while still being able to check Rillaboom and Kartana. Talk about tera flying here The given EVs allow Zapdos to outspeed Urshifu-R and have enough bulk to survive Floatzle’s attacks after Tera Grass, while having enough SpAtk investment to threaten Rotom-W and Ferrothorn better. The given EVs allow Zapdos to outspeed Great Tusk while maximizing its offensive power to break foes such as Rotom-W, Ferrothorn and Gastrodon. Pelipper is a mandatory partner for Zapdos as it sets up Rain reliably and can pivot out to it. Ferrothorn makes a great ally, as it can set up Spikes to chip down switch-ins to Zapdos like Heatran, Tyranitar, and opposing Ferrothorn, while also alleviating the match-up against Kartana and Rillaboom checking foes such as Weavile and most Mega Tyranitar while setting entry hazards to weaken foes such as Heatran and opposing Ferrothorn. Additionally, Swim Swimmers like Mega Swampert and Barraskewda can help with Clodsire and Mega Tyranitar, whom Zapdos can struggle to break through. They appreciate Zapdos wearing down Ferrothorn, Rotom-W, and Dragonite Gastrodon, clearing the path for them to clean up after their checks are weak enough.

Thanks to Zapdos’ longevity and offensive presence, it helps provides a stop-gap to many dangerous threats like Tornadus-T and Annihilape and breaks down defensive staples like Toxapex, Landorus-T, and Ferrothorn. this is an odd sentence to start off on imo, just highlight that it's difficult to switch into without a fat special wall like ting lu or blissey Volt Switch can gain momentum against common switch-ins like Heatran, Rotom-W, and Mega Tyranitar. Defog provides hazard removal from Pokemon like Landorus-T and Great Tusk, both of whom Zapdos can take advantage of well. reword to say smth like "Defog is an alternative that removes entry hazards against setters like..." However, Volt Switch keeps momentum to one’s team and punishes switch-ins like Ferrothorn and Gholdengo. fluff + ghold is a non-answer Static punishes fast physical attackers like Zamazenta and Mega Lopunny and pivots like Mega Scizor and Tornadus-T with paralysis, crippling them. Tera Flying allows Zapdos to muscle past Mega Scizor, kind of already a fake check, use smth else like clod Landorus-T, and Ferrothorn with much greater ease, while still threatening Annihilape. mention that u have to be boots to tera Flyinium Z allows Zapdos to muscle through Pokemon like Annihilape and just say ground types here Gastrodon after chip damage. The given EV spread allows Zapdos to OHKO post-Tera i assume? Sulo implemented + added/changed things that I felt is missing or misleading. please feel free to check again, thanks. I'll put qc 1/2 for now.

The given EV spread allows Zapdos to OHKO post-Tera i assume? Annihilape with Supersonic Skystrike
assuming ape have not tera-ed and zap no tera (oc)
here's the calc
164 SpA Zapdos Supersonic Skystrike (185 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Annihilape: 426-504 (100.4 - 118.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
