[OVERVIEW]

Flying
========
Zapdos finds itself as one of the most useful Pokemon a Flying-type team can use, as its Electric typing allows it to take attacks from the likes of Tapu Koko under Electric Terrain, and it is able to provide support for its team via Defog. Its bulk also allows it to take hits from opposing offensive Pokemon such as Gengar and Latios. With Pressure as its ability, Zapdos is able to waste opposing Stealth Rock PP quickly and successfully stall out Pokemon that use the move repeatedly, as well as waste the PP of other opposing moves that threaten its teammates. Zapdos's access to Roost and Toxic allows it to be an effective user of Pressure stall and force out opposing walls and offensive Pokemon with ease; alternatively, it can also use Defog to become a fast specially defensive pivot able to outspeed the likes of Heatran and Diggersby. Zapdos can work effectively as a pivot as well thanks to its access to Volt Switch, which allows it to make a good pivoting core with teammates like Landorus-T and Tornadus-T. Zapdos effectively spreads status to the opposing team with Discharge and Toxic, allowing it to become a useful asset in wearing down opposing Pokemon for its teammates. However, because of this passive playstyle, Zapdos is susceptible to Taunt, which can be problematic if it is trying to Defog hazards, heal itself with Roost, or wear down a threat with Toxic. Also, despite being a great wall, Zapdos can still be KOed by a lot of physical attackers like Mega Aerodactyl due to its slightly lackluster offensive presence and lack of physical bulk.

move 4: Roost
item: Leftovers
ability: Pressure
nature: Timid
evs: 252 HP / 120 SpD / 136 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========
Substitute allows Zapdos to avoid status while also being able to stall almost any Pokemon down in tandem with Toxic and Roost. Toxic is used to beat opposing walls like Porygon2 and put offensive Pokemon such as Landorus-T and Kyurem-B on a timer. It also wears down most Ground-types that are immune to Discharge. Discharge is primarily used as a STAB move that can paralyze opposing Pokemon, making it harder for them to KO Zapdos. It also hits most Poison- and Steel-type Pokemon that are immune to Toxic. Roost is used to keep Zapdos healthy, especially after using a couple of Substitutes.

Set Details
========
136 Speed EVs with a Timid nature are used to creep maximum Speed Heatran and avoid its fast Toxic, as well as to outpace Suicune and Nidoking. Maximum HP investment with the remaining EVs put into Special Defense allows Zapdos to maximize the health of its Substitute and its own bulk. Pressure is used to further deplete the PP of threatening moves like Magma Storm, Stone Edge, and Sludge Bomb, and Toxic is used so that Zapdos can force the users of these moves out. Leftovers allows Zapdos to passively recover health behind its Substitute without being forced to use Roost.

Usage Tips
========
Take advantage of passive Pokemon like Mega Sableye to easily set up Substitute and stall them out. Use Toxic liberally throughout the battle to spread status early-game. This allows Zapdos to stall more later in the game, taking pressure off the rest of the team. Zapdos should avoid getting poisoned or burned, as it will make it immensely difficult for it to properly wall opposing Pokemon. Avoid getting hit by Knock Off, as losing its Leftovers makes it harder for this set to be effective. Take advantage of Discharge's paralysis chance to provide some speed control against Pokemon like Greninja. However, be wary of accidentally paralyzing a wall like Porygon2 or Cradily, as this will make them harder for your team to take down. Try to use Substitute when the opposing Pokemon is badly poisoned or if you expect a Z-Move from a Pokemon that is slower than Zapdos, such as Tapu Bulu or Heatran.

Team Options
========
Mantine is a great Defogger that can take Ice-type attacks for Zapdos while also being able to check threats to Zapdos like Choice Scarf Greninja. Its Haze also helps Zapdos immensely with setup sweepers like Azumarill. Celesteela also helps check Zapdos's threats thanks to its amazing typing, allowing it to take many Rock- and Ice-type attacks Zapdos is weak to, while its Flamethrower can help get rid of opposing Steel-types like Ferrothorn that make it difficult for Zapdos to be effective. Skarmory helps take physical attacks that Zapdos is usually vulnerable to, can use Defog to remove Stealth Rock and prevent it from harming Zapdos, and has Whirlwind to phaze setup sweepers that would take advantage of Zapdos. Mega Aerodactyl is a fantastic assistant for Zapdos, as it can KO opposing Rock- and Ice-types with Earthquake and Stone Edge. It also provides Stealth Rock support and Pursuit traps threats to Zapdos like Victini. Landorus-T and Gliscor are both good Electric-immune teammates that can still assist Zapdos. Choice Scarf Landorus-T also acts as a good pivot with U-turn and is a reliable way to keep faster foes in check, while Gliscor helps stallbreak opposing teams with its good bulk, high passive recovery, pseudo status immunity, and Taunt. Tornadus-T is an excellent pivot with its Speed and access to U-turn, and is also an excellent offensive Defogger that can KO opposing Steel-types with Heat Wave and remove opposing items with Knock Off.

[SET]
name: Specially Defensive Defog
move 1: Volt Switch / Discharge
move 2: Roost
move 3: Defog
move 4: Heat Wave / Toxic
item: Leftovers
ability: Pressure
nature: Calm
evs: 252 HP / 176 SpD / 80 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Moves
========
Volt Switch is used so that Zapdos can pivot out of the fight to keep momentum going. Roost allows Zapdos to recover its health and allows it to continue to be useful in the match. Defog removes entry hazards from the field, easing the need for the move on other teammates so they can run other moves. Heat Wave hits Steel-types such as Ferrothorn and Excadrill to keep them from walling Zapdos. Discharge can be used over Volt Switch so that Zapdos has a reliable STAB move that also has a decent paralysis chance. Toxic can be used over Heat Wave to hit incoming walls and checks to Zapdos like Porygon2 and Landorus-T, putting them on a timer.

Set Details
========
Maximum HP investment, 176 Special Defense EVs, and a Calm nature allow Zapdos to be as bulky as possible and survive a multitude of hits from offensive Pokemon like Gengar and Latios. Zapdos runs 80 Speed EVs to make sure that it outspeeds Adamant Bisharp and Adamant Diggersby. Leftovers is used to give Zapdos as much passive recovery as possible. Pressure is Zapdos's best ability, as it allows it to deplete the PP of opposing sweepers that it walls, limiting their choices and forcing switches.

Usage Tips
========
Volt Switch should be used once Zapdos has successfully removed Stealth Rock from the field so its teammates can come in safely. Using it against faster Pokemon allows Zapdos to bring in teammates like Mega Aerodactyl and Landorus-T safely, while using it against slower Pokemon allows it to safely pivot out to a wall like Mantine or Gliscor so they can completely stop the foe. Try to avoid having Zapdos getting its passive recovery nullified, as losing its Leftovers to Knock Off or getting hit with a status move makes it harder for Zapdos to effectively wall opposing Pokemon. Try to switch Zapdos in on a predicted Stealth Rock use, as it makes it easier to deplete the opposing Pokemon's PP for that move, allowing your team to be able to switch into the fight more easily. Make sure that Zapdos is healthy before it switches out, as it will make it easier for it to Defog effectively later in the match. Zapdos can provide speed control by spreading paralysis with Discharge, which can be really useful to keep revenge killers like Kommo-o in check. Zapdos should use Toxic on a predicted switch to a wall or an Electric-immune Pokemon so that it can put them on a timer and give its team the upper hand. Try to bluff Toxic against balance teams that are vulnerable to it like Normal so that you can surprise would-be switch-ins. Heat Wave is also important to keep hidden so you can surprise switch-ins like Ferrothorn and Bisharp in the Steel matchup, allowing you to get the upper hand in the fight.

Team Options
========
The entire team appreciates Zapdos's ability to remove Stealth Rock effectively, as most Flying-types are weak to it. Its teammates also appreciate its neutrality to Electric-type moves. Celesteela can wear down opposing Pokemon with Toxic and Leech Seed, and Leech Seed in particular can provide Zapdos with additional healing, allowing it to force out even more Pokemon. It also has a spectacular typing and great bulk that allow it to take Ice-type attacks for Zapdos as well. Mantine is an excellent switch-in to Pokemon like Greninja and can form a great defensive Defog core with Zapdos. Its Haze also allows it to make setup sweepers less of a problem for Zapdos. Landorus-T can utilize Choice Scarf to remove threats to Zapdos with its powerful Earthquake, such as Nidoking and Terrakion. Tornadus-T is a great assisting Defogger that helps take down checks to Zapdos like Mega Venusaur with Hurricane. It also forms a nice pivoting core with Zapdos and appreciates Zapdos's ability to get rid of certain Steel-types that it struggles against, such as Ferrothorn and Mega Scizor. Mega Aerodactyl appreciates Zapdos's ability to wear down opposing walls and attackers so that it can clean opposing teams more easily. In return, it can remove threats such as Taunt Tapu Koko and Trick Latios so Zapdos isn't crippled or removed. Skarmory can switch into physical attacks from Pokemon like Excadrill and Mega Gallade, as well as neutralize physical Rock-type attacks. Mega Charizard Y can break down the walls that Zapdos struggles against like Ferrothorn, making it easier for Zapdos to wear down opposing offensive Pokemon.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
=============

Flying
--------
Zapdos can use alternative spreads to deal with certain threats better or to maximize its bulk while outspeeding other important key threats. Zapdos's SubToxic set, for example, can run maximum Speed and HP to outspeed Kyurem-B and deplete its Fusion Bolt or Ice Beam PP. This, however, sacrifices Zapdos's longevity and bulk against other offensive Pokemon and makes it harder to switch into many Pokemon. Zapdos can also run a spread of 252 HP / 148 SpD / 108 Spe on the Defog set for increased survivability while still being able to outpace the likes of Jolly Bisharp and Jolly Breloom. However, this leaves Zapdos slower than Heatran, which forces hard 50/50 decisions instead of being able to pivot out with ease.

Checks and Counters
===================

Flying
--------
**Stallbreakers**: Pokemon such as Hydreigon and Kommo-o can use Taunt to stop Zapdos's recovery and ability to Defog, which makes it a sitting duck for any incoming damage from the opposing team.

**Opposing Walls**: Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Chansey, and Heatran all take very little damage from Zapdos. However, other walls such as Swampert, Celesteela, and Clefable are threatened by the SubToxic set.

**Wallbreakers and Setup Sweepers**: Pokemon like Mega Gallade, Choice Specs Blacephelon, Refresh Mega Latias, and Refresh Mega Altaria can break through Zapdos's defenses and eventually KO it.

**Super Effective Coverage**: Like most Flying-types, Zapdos is weak to Rock- and Ice-type attacks, especially physical variants due to its underwhelming physical bulk.

**Status**: Zapdos gets completely shut down by Toxic, since it relies on being healthy. Getting burned does not help either, as the negation of Leftovers makes it harder to wall opposing Pokemon.

changed the order of the sets, now subtoxic is the first set and Defog is the second
[OVERVIEW]

Flying
========
* Zapdos finds itself as one of the most useful Pokemon a Flying-type team can use as it serves as a great defensive Pokemon with its Electric typing and decent support moves.
* Zapdos’ decent bulk paired with its typing allows it to be a useful neutrality to Electric-type attacks. This bulk also allows it to take hits from opposing offensive Pokemon, such as Gengar and Latios.
- i would give an example of an electric-type is can take on because u mention a neutrality to electric attacks earlier in the bullet

* Pressure

* Defog and Roost allow Zapdos to be efficient as a defensive Defogger while Substitute and Toxic allows it to be a great Pressure abuser.
- defog takes advantage of pressure by out pp stalling rocks setters, this makes it sound like defog set doesn't appreciate pressure which it certainly does

* give a bullet talking about its ability to beat other walls

* However despite being a great wall, Zapdos can still be KOd by a lot of special wallbreakers like Hydreigon and physical attackers like Mega Aerodactyl due to its slightly lackluster offensive presence and lack of physical bulk.
* Zapdos is also completely open to getting hit with Toxic and Will-O-Wisp, which hinders its ability to wall some offensive Pokemon.
- feel like last idea belongs more in usage tips

[SET]
name: SubToxic
move 1: Substitute
move 2: Toxic
move 3: Discharge
move 4: Roost
item: Leftovers
ability: Pressure
nature: Timid
Evs: 252 HP / 120 SpD / 136 Spe
- changed evs & nature, this allows it to outspeed Pokemon like vincune and nidoking

[SET COMMENTS]

Moves
========
* Substitute allows Zapdos to avoid status while also being able to stall almost any Pokemon down in tandem with Toxic and Roost.
* Toxic is used to beat opposing walls such as x and offensive Pokemon in tandem with Substitute, while also wearing down most Ground-types that are immune to Discharge.
* Discharge is primarily used as a STAB move that can paralyze opposing Pokemon, making it harder for them to KO Zapdos. It also hits most Poison- and Steel-type Pokemon that are immune to Toxic.
* Roost is used to keep Zapdos healthy especially after using a couple of Substitutes.

Set Details
========
* Maximum HP investment along with some Special Defense investment allows Zapdos to maximize the health of its Substitute as well as its own bulk.
- add a calm nature to this bullet.

* Special Defense investment with a Calm nature is made so that Zapdos
* 176 Speed investment is used to speed creep max Speed Heatran and avoid its fast Toxic and most Suicunes.
- changed evs, 136+timid nature allow it to outpace suicune/nidoking and is better on SubToxic Zapdos.

* Pressure is used to further wear down the PP of threatening moves like Ice Beam and Thunderbolt so that Zapdos can force the users of these moves out.
* Leftovers is used so that Zapdos can passively recover health behind its Substitute without being forced to use Roost.

- rework the evs in this section to match what i changed the set to

Usage Tips
========
* Take advantage of passive Pokemon like stallbreaker Mew and Mega Sableye so that you can easily set up your Substitute and start stalling them out.
* Try using Substitute to scout for incoming Z-moves or other threatening moves, as Zapdos is usually a target for these moves.
- most offensive z move users outpace zapdos like sd garchomp, if you are gonna keep this give an example of what it can setup a sub on before it attacks

* Pressure allows you to force out choice-locked attackers like Gengar and Latios, using Roost and Substitute wisely can potentially force them out of the fight.
- i dont think pressure is what allows it to beat these pokemon

* Using Toxic to spread status early-game allows Zapdos to be able to stall more later in the game, taking less pressure off of the rest of the team.
* Try to avoid using Substitute in front of fast Taunt users like Krookodile and Deoxys-Speed as this will leave Zapdos open to getting revenge killed.
* Zapdos should avoid must never getting badly poisoned or burned, as it will make it immensely difficult for Zapdos to properly wall opposing Pokemon.
* Avoid getting hit by Knock Off as losing your Leftovers makes it harder for this set to be effective.

* talk about spamming discharge to fish for paralysis
* add a bullet about roost and keeping it healthy. also add to that bullet roost/sub and when it would use those moves

Team Options
========
* Mantine is a great Defogger that can take Ice-type attacks for Zapdos while also being able to check threats to Zapdos like Choice Scarf Greninja.
* Celesteela also helps check Zapdos' threats thanks to its amazing Steel-Flying typing allowing it to take many Rock- and Ice-type attacks Zapdos is weak to. Celesteela also has access to Flamethrower and Earthquake, which can help get rid of opposing Steel-types like Ferrothorn that make it difficult for Zapdos to be effective.
* Skarmory helps take physical attacks that Zapdos is usually prone to and can also use Defog to remove Stealth Rocks from harming Zapdos and Whirlwind to phase out Set up Sweepers that would take advantage of Zapdos.
* Mega Aerodactyl is a fantastic assistant for Zapdos as it can KO opposing Rock- and Ice-types with Earthquake and Stone Edge coverage.
- provides sr support and can pursuit trap threats like victini for zapdos

* Landorus-T and Gliscor are both good electric immunities that can still assist Zapdos. Landorus-T acts as a good pivot with U-turn and a Choice Scarf while Gliscor helps stallbreak opposing teams with its pseudo status immunity and Taunt paired with Earthquake or Facade.
- talk about how landorus-t provides speed control and that Gliscor can provide Defog support and act as a status absorber for zapdos

* Tornadus-T and Landorus-T are excellent pivots with their Speed and access to U-turn. Landotus-T in particular acts as a great form of speed control with a Choice Scarf while Tornadus-T is an excellent offensive Defogger that can KO opposing Steel-types with Heat Wave and Knock Off opposing items.
- just talk about tornadus-t in this bullet and talk about landorus-t in the bullet above

[SET]
name: Specially Defensive Defogger
move 1: Volt Switch / Discharge
move 2: Roost
move 3: Defog
move 4: Heat Wave / Toxic
item: Leftovers
ability: Pressure
nature: Calm
evs: 252 HP / 176 SpD / 80 Spe
- switched moves section around a bit, and gave Zapdos different EVs

[SET COMMENTS]

Moves
========
* Volt Switch can be used over Discharge for pivoting out of the fight to keep momentum going.
- volt switch is better than discharge on defog set, change the wording here

* Discharge is used as Zapdos’ STAB move that also has a decent Paralysis chance.
* Roost is used to recover Zapdos’ health and allows it to continue to be useful in the match.
* Defog is used to remove entry hazards from the field, most notably Stealth Rock.
* Heat Wave hits Steel-types like Bisharp and Ferrothorn to keep them from checking/walling Zapdos.
* Toxic can be used over Heat Wave to hit incoming walls and checks such as x to Zapdos and put them on a timer.

reordered this section of moves to make it reflect the order of the set that I changed

Set Details
========
* Maximum Health investment paired with 144 Special Defense further augmented by a Calm Nature allows Zapdos to be as bulky as possible and survive a multitude of hits from offensive Pokemon like Gengar and Latios.
- changed evs, see description down below

* Zapdos runs 116 Speed EVs to make sure that it completely outspeeds Bisharp and can KO it with Heat Wave after prior chip.
- changed evs, see description down below

* Leftovers is used to allow Zapdos to have as much passive recovery as possible.
* Pressure is Zapdos’s best ability as it allows it to wear down the PP of opposing sweepers that it walls, limiting their choices as well as forcing switches.
- also talk about how it makes wastes rocks pp, allowing it to have more Defogs than they can set sr in a 1v1 war

changed the evs around a bit, this allows it to outspeed Adamant Diggersby, which imo is the important benchmark for Defogging not the non present Breloom and Bisharp which use Adamant nature's most of the time. Also having an HP number divisble by 4 does not matter since Leftovers let it switch into Stealth Rock more than 4 times!

Usage Tips
========
* Switch Zapdos into attacks it can take from Choice Scarf users like Gengar or Latios, as Zapdos can easily take the attacks that they have and start wearing them down effectively, or even force a switch.
- eh i dont really like this usage tip, zapdos shouldnt be switching into powerful attacks as it can be worn down quickly by unnecessarily switching it in

* Zapdos can potentially spread Paralysis by using Discharge, so try to use this when you predict a revenge killer coming in.
- reword this, also talk about how it paralyze offensive threats such as kommo-o for the rest of the team

* Zapdos should use Toxic on a predicted switch in to a wall or electric immunity so that it can put them on a timer and give your team the upper hand.
* Volt Switch should be used once Zapdos has successfully removed Stealth Rocks from the field so this way its teammate can come in safely.
* Try to avoid having Zapdos getting its Leftovers knocked off, as it limits its ability to effectively wall opposing Pokemon.
* Avoid getting badly poisoned as Zapdos, as it puts it on a timer and makes it harder to effectively wall.

* imo it can be useful to conceal heat wave in like the steel matchup for ferrothorn, talk about that here
* try to keep it constantly healthy before switching out so it has an easier time clearing hazards later in the match

Team Options
========
* The entire team appreciates Zapdos’ ability to remove Stealth Rocks effectively, as almost Flying-Types are weak to it.
- also talk about its neutrality to elec attacks, another huge benefit for flying teams

* Skarmory can switch into physical attacks from Pokemon like Excadrill and Mega Gallade. It also most notably takes physical Rock- and Ice-type attacks that Zapdos is afraid of.
- say provides a Rock- and Ice-type neutrality, not 'that zapdos is afraid of' sounds weird.

* Celesteela and Mantine both take Ice-type attacks from Pokemon like Nidoking and Greninja and can wear down these offensive Pokemon as well.
- mantine provides a switchin to Pokemon like gren for zapdos and can also form a Defog core, while Celesteela provides Leech Seed support + an Ice-/Rock-type neutrality. worth talking about those and make these 2 pokemon seperate bullets

* Landorus-T can use a Choice Scarf to abuse its powerful Earthquake to remove threats to Zapdos like the previously mentioned Nidoking, Non-Choice Scarf Nihilego, and Terrakion.
- also forms a voltturn core w/ zapdos and appreciate's zapdos's ability to take on steels that it struggles vs like ferrothorn/mega scizor with heat wave

*Tornadus-T is a great assisting Defogger that helps take down checks to Zapdos like Mega Venusaur with its STAB Hurricane, it also acts as a nice pivot with its fast speed and access to U-turn.
* Mega Aerodactyl appreciates Zapdos’ ability to wear down opposing walls and attackers so that it can clean opposing teams easier. In return it can remove threats like Taunt Tapu Koko and Trick Latios so that Zapdos isn’t crippled or removed.
* Mega Charizard Y can wallbreak the walls that Zapdos struggles against like Mega-Venusaur and Celesteela making it easier for Zapdos to wear down opposing offensive Pokemon.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
=============

Flying
--------
* Zapdos can run a physicaly Defensive set that invests in physical Defense rather than Special Defense. This allows it to check Excadrill and take physical attacks easier as a whole. However running this set leaves you open to strong special Electric-type attacks, making Zapdos less effective as a wall.
- imo this isnt worth it, really only spd is the way to go since pokemon like celesteela and skarm wall what defensive zapdos does anyway, one of which will always be on the same team as zapdos

Checks and Counters
===================

Flying
--------
**Stallbreakers**: Pokemon like Hydreigon and Kommo-o can use Taunt to stop Zapdos' recovery, which makes it a sitting duck for any incoming damage from the opposing team.
- also talk about removing its ability to Defog

**Excadrill and Nidoking**: Both of these Pokemon completely stop Zapdos' SubToxic set and put heavy pressure on the Defog set as well.

**Opposing Walls**: Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Chansey, and Heatran all take very little damage from Zapdos and can KO it back with their own attacks. These walls will however fall to the SubToxic set.

**Wallbreakers**: Pokemon like Mega Gallade and Choice Specs Blacephelon can break through Zapdos' defenses and 2HKO it with ease.

**Super effective Coverage**: Like most Flying-types, Zapdos is weak to Rock- and Ice-type attacks, especially physical variants as Zapdos has underwhelming physical Defense.

**Status**: Zapdos gets completely shut down by Toxic since it relies on being healthy, and getting burned does not help either as it negates Leftovers which makes it harder to wall opposing Pokemon.

**Setup Sweepers**: Zapdos can be taken advantage of by Pokemon like Refresh Mega Latias and Refresh Mega Altaria regardless of what set it uses.

Moves
========
* Defog is used to remove entry hazards from the field, most notably Stealth Rock. You can just mention Stealth Rock only, since you're talking in the context of Flying teams which aren't affected by entry hazards outside of Stealth Rock anyways.
* Discharge is used as Zapdos’ STAB move that also has a decent Paralysis chance.
* Volt Switch can be used over Discharge for pivoting out of the fight to keep momentum going.
* Heat Wave hits Steel-types like Bisharp and Ferrothorn to keep them from checking/walling Zapdos. Imo, Mega Scizor over Bisharp (tho Bish as an example is also fine).
* Toxic can be used over Heat Wave to hit chip away at incoming walls and checks to Zapdos and put them on a timer.
* Roost is used to recover Zapdos’ health and allows it to continue to be useful in the match.

Set Details

* Take advantage of passive Pokemon like stallbreaker Mew and Mega Sableye so that you can easily set up your Substitute and start stalling them out. How does this work against stallbreaker Mew, which can Taunt you, stop your Toxic, or Synchronize Toxic onto Zapdos?
* Try using Substitute to scout for incoming Z-moves or other threatening moves, as Zapdos is usually a target for these moves.
* Pressure allows you to force out choice-locked attackers like Gengar and Latios, using Roost and Substitute wisely can potentially force them out of the fight.
* Zapdos must never get badly poisoned or burned, as it will make it immensely difficult for Zapdos to properly wall opposing Pokemon.
* Avoid getting hit by Knock Off as losing your Leftovers makes it harder for this set to be effective.

Team Options
========
* Landorus-T and Gliscor are both is a good Electric-type immunities immunity that can still assist Zapdos Landorus-T acts as a good pivot with U-turn and a Choice Scarf while Gliscor helps by stallbreaking opposing teams with its pseudo status immunity and Taunt paired with Earthquake or Facade.
* Tornadus-T and Landorus-T are is an excellent pivots with their Speed and access to U-turn. Landotus-T in particular acts as a great form of speed control with a Choice Scarf while Additionally, Tornadus-T is an excellent offensive Defogger that can KO opposing Steel-types with Heat Wave and Knock Off opposing items.
*Landorus-T (Just give Lando it's own bullet; there's way too much importance too Lando-T and reading it with two points that split reads very poorly. So mention all previously mentioned things + the ability to check/revenge kill Mega Diancie/Tapu Koko).
*Mega Charizard Y
*Dragonite

Flying
--------
* Zapdos can run a physicaly Defensive set that invests in physical Defense rather than Special Defense. This allows it to check Excadrill and take physical attacks easier as a whole. However running this set leaves you open to strong special Electric-type attacks, making Zapdos less effective as a wall.

Checks and Counters
===================

Flying
--------
**Stallbreakers**: Pokemon like Hydreigon and Kommo-o can use Taunt to stop Zapdos' recovery, which makes it a sitting duck for any incoming damage from the opposing team.

Mega Venusaur and Chansey hardly fall to SubToxic imo, considering that Venusaur walls Zapdos's options and can continuously keep swapping to Nidoking/Toxapex, while Chansey can absorb Toxic for teammates and do the same thing with P2. You can keep the point though if you state better examples of those that do fall to SubToxic (Gastrodon, Cradily come to mind).

Doesn't make sense to state "underwhelming physical Defense" when it's only 5 base points lower than its special defense, which could be seen as equally underwhelming. You could say that it "has a lack of physical Defense investment on its primary sets" instead.

**Status**: Zapdos gets completely shut down by Toxic since it relies on being healthy, and getting burned does not help either as it negates Leftovers which makes it harder to wall opposing Pokemon.

**Setup Sweepers**: Zapdos can be taken advantage of by Pokemon like Refresh Calm Mind Mega Latias and Refresh Mega Altaria regardless of what set it uses.

[OVERVIEW]

Flying
========
* Zapdos finds itself as one of the most useful Pokemon a Flying-type team can use as it serves as a great defensive Pokemon with its Electric typing and decent support moves.
* Zapdos’ decent bulk paired with its typing allows it to be a useful neutrality to Electric-type attacks coming from Pokemon like Xurkitree and Tapu Koko under Electric Terrain. This bulk also allows it to take hits from opposing offensive Pokemon, such as Gengar and Latios.
* Pressure allows Zapdos to wear down offensive Pokemon faster and can force out choice-locked users once they lose all of their PP. This is written like a set details sentence, rephrase it so that's its an overview point. What does using pressure do for Zapdos and its team overall?
* Defog and Roost allow Zapdos to be efficient as a defensive Defogger while Substitute and Toxic allows it to be a great staller. Same comment as above
* Bullet on acting as a pivot for the team w/ volt switch
* Bullet on its overall function of spreading status (can talk about both Toxic and Paralysis between the two sets)
* As a negative, talk about how it is prone to being Taunt bait (both sets).

* Due to the nature of these sets along with Pressure, Zapdos can beat other walls by wearing down their PP and using Roost to keep itself healthy. This is the same thing as the previous pressure sentence, except focusing on walls instead of offensive Pokemon. Just blend it into the other one.
* However despite being a great wall, Zapdos can still be KOd by a lot of special wallbreakers like Hydreigon and physical attackers like Mega Aerodactyl due to its slightly lackluster offensive presence and lack of physical bulk. Hydreigon doesn't OHKO Zapdos without SR, so either remove that example or rephrase.

[SET]

move 2: Toxic
move 3: Discharge
move 4: Roost
item: Leftovers
ability: Pressure
nature: Timid
Evs: 252 HP / 120 SpD / 136 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Moves
========
* Substitute allows Zapdos to avoid status while also being able to stall almost any Pokemon down in tandem with Toxic and Roost.
* Toxic is used to beat opposing walls like Porygon2 and put offensive Pokemon like Landorus-T on a timer. It also wears down most Ground-types that are immune to Discharge.

Set Details
========
* Maximum HP investment along with some with the remaining EVs invested into Special Defense investment allows Zapdos to maximize the health of its Substitute as well as its own bulk.
* 136 Speed investment with a Timid Nature is used to speed creep max Speed Heatran and avoid its fast Toxic as well as outpace Suicune and Nidoking. Put this before the HP line.
* Pressure is used to further wear down the PP of threatening moves like Ice Beam and Thunderbolt foes so that Zapdos can force the users of these moves out. Mention its specific use vs Choice-locked Pokemon
* Leftovers is used so that Zapdos can passively recover health behind its Substitute without being forced to use Roost.

Usage Tips
========
* Take advantage of passive Pokemon like stallbreaker Mew and Mega Sableye so that you can easily set up your Substitute and start stalling them out. I'm not a fan of the Mew example - you just get Taunted since it goes through sub and then lose the stall game; if you Toxic them, you kill yourself.
* Try using Substitute to scout for incoming Z-moves from Pokemon like Tapu Bulu or other threatening moves, as Zapdos is usually a target for these moves. I would probably delete this bullet. The majority of Pokemon that would Z-move Zapdos are faster than it, Tapu Bulu is kind of the exception. Same goes for "other threatening moves" which will largely come from faster Pokemon, meaning you can't Sub before they attack (no scout).
* Using Toxic to spread status early-game allows Zapdos to be able to stall more later in the game, taking less pressure off of the rest of the team. I'd rephrase to "Use Toxic liberally throughout the battle" since this set is largely going to be on a pseudo-stall / excessively bulky team.
* Try to avoid using Substitute in front of fast Taunt users like Krookodile and Deoxys-Speed as this will leave Zapdos open to getting revenge killed. I would delete this bullet. You're basically just saying "don't click a non-attacking move vs a fast taunter" which should be obvious knowledge.
* Zapdos should avoid getting badly poisoned or burned, as it will make it immensely difficult for Zapdos to properly wall opposing Pokemon.
* Avoid getting hit by Knock Off as losing your Leftovers makes it harder for this set to be effective.
* Take advantage of Discharge's 30% paralysis chance so that you can provide pseudo speed control against Pokemon like Greninja. Talk about the negatives of spamming discharge, such as accidentally paralyzing a defensive wall that needs to be Toxic'd to be taken down, especially for the overly bulky Flying teams.
* Make sure to use Roost to keep Zapdos healthy, as it needs as much health as possible to make Substitutes. This isn't a tip really, common knowledge.
* Try to use Substitute when you expect another Substitute-breaking attack or Z-move from a Pokemon that is slower than you, like the previously mentioned Tapu Bulu and Heatran. On the same note use Roost when you predict a switch or a move that doesn't break Substitute when you are low on health. You should rephrase this probably. The first bit - "when you expect another substitute-breaking attack" - unless that expected attack has very low PP like Stone Edge, that largely is just a waste of time; you can fix that by recommending it after the opponent has been badly poisoned. For the Z-move part, if you want to keep a bullet on using sub to prevent Z-move OHKOs, you should give examples of other slower Z-move users to give it more context than just Tapu Bulu. The second sentence here is a separate point of recommending taking advantage of Sub or Roost on forced switches (using roost against attacks that won't break sub is pretty blah / common knowledge info).

Team Options
========
* Mantine is a great Defogger that can take Ice-type attacks for Zapdos while also being able to check threats to Zapdos like Choice Scarf Greninja. Could mention Haze as setup sweepers largely threaten this Zapdos set.
It also provides Stealth Rock support and Pursuit traps threats to Zapdos like Victini.
* Landorus-T and Gliscor are both good electric immunities that can still assist Zapdos. Landorus-T acts as a good pivot with U-turn and as Speed control with a Choice Scarf while Gliscor helps stallbreak opposing teams with its good bulk, high passive recovery, pseudo status immunity, and Taunt paired with Earthquake or Facade. This status immunity and its good physical Defense also allows it to be a good assisting Defogger with Zapdos.
* Tornadus-T is an excellent pivot with its Speed and access to U-turn, it is also an excellent offensive Defogger that can KO opposing Steel-types with Heat Wave and Knock Off opposing items.

name: Specially Defensive Defogger

[SET COMMENTS]

Moves
========
* Volt Switch is used so that Zapdos can pivot out of the fight to keep momentum going.
* Discharge can be used over Volt Switch so that Zapdos has a reliable STAB move that also has a decent Paralysis chance.
* Roost is used to recover Zapdos’ health and allows it to continue to be useful in the match.
* Defog is used to remove entry hazards from the field, most notably Stealth Rock. Probably mention that it eases the need for its teammates to run Defog, allowing them to use other utility or offensive moves.
* Heat Wave hits Steel-types like Ferrothorn and Excadrill to keep them from walling Zapdos.
* Toxic can be used over Heat Wave to hit incoming walls and checks to Zapdos like opposing Zapdos Porygon2 and Landorus-T, putting them on a timer.

Set Details
========
* Maximum Health investment paired with 176 Special Defense further augmented by a Calm Nature allows Zapdos to be as bulky as possible and survive a multitude of hits from offensive Pokemon like Gengar and Latios.
* Zapdos runs 80 Speed EVs to make sure that it outspeeds Adamant Bisharp and Adamant Diggersby.
* Leftovers is used to allow Zapdos to have as much passive recovery as possible.
* Pressure is Zapdos’s best ability as it allows it to wear down the PP of opposing sweepers that it walls, limiting their choices as well as forcing switches.

Usage Tips
========
* Zapdos can act as pseudo Speed control by spreading Paralysis with Discharge, this can be really useful for revenge killers like Kommo-o. Discharge is not a main set move, so this should be a lower bullet.
* Zapdos should use Toxic on a predicted switch in to a wall or electric immunity so that it can put them on a timer and give your team the upper hand. Toxic isn't a main set move so this should be a much lower bullet. Also, phrase as "If Zapdos is using Toxic..."
* Volt Switch should be used once Zapdos has successfully removed Stealth Rocks from the field so this way its teammate can come in safely. I think you can expand on being a pivot - talk about which partners you want to be able to safely bring; i.e. pivoting against faster Pokemon to bring in Pokemon like Mega Aerodactyl or pivoting against slower Pokemon to bring in partners that effectively wall the foe like Mantine or Gliscor
* Try to avoid having Zapdos getting its Leftovers knocked off, as it limits its ability to effectively wall opposing Pokemon.
* Avoid getting badly poisoned as Zapdos, as it puts it on a timer and makes it harder to effectively wall. This pretty much says the same thing as the previous bullet, you could just meld them together.
* Make sure that Zapdos is healthy before it switches out, as it will make it easier for it to Defog effectively later in the match.
* Try to bluff moves like Toxic and Heat Wave for certain matchups so you can surprise would-be switch ins. You need to specify which matchups, this is too vague.
* Talk about its use in the Steel matchup

Team Options
========
* The entire team appreciates Zapdos’ ability to remove Stealth Rocks effectively, as almost Flying-Types are weak to it. It's team members also appreciate its neutrality to Electric moves, making certain choices during battle a lot less riskier. The info after the comma in the second sentence is super vague and doesn't really mean anything, either specify what you're talking about or remove it.
* Skarmory can switch into physical attacks from Pokemon like Excadrill and Mega Gallade. It also most notably neutralizes physical Rock- and Ice-type attacks. Make this lower on the list, bullet before MCharY; also, it can't really take on that many Ice-type attacks as most users are special anyways
* Celesteela can also take Rock- and Ice-type attacks from opposing Pokemon while also providing Leech Seed support. Rewrite this bullet to focus on Leech Seed and Toxic support, the neutralities can be an after-thought.
* Mantine is an excellent switch-in to Pokemon like Greninja and can form a great defensive Defog core with Zapdos. Also Haze
* Landorus-T can use a Choice Scarf to abuse its powerful Earthquake to remove threats to Zapdos like the previously mentioned Nidoking, Non-Choice Scarf Nihilego, and Terrakion.
*Tornadus-T is a great assisting Defogger that helps take down checks to Zapdos like Mega Venusaur with its STAB Hurricane, it also acts as a nice pivot with its fast speed and access to U-turn. It also forms a nice pivot core with Zapdos and appreciates Zapdos' ability to get rid of certain Steel-types that it struggles against, like Ferrothorn and Mega Scizor.

* Zapdos can act as pseudo Speed control by spreading Paralysis with Discharge, this can be really useful for revenge killers like Kommo-o. I think you missed my previous comment - make this a lower bullet since Discharge is the slash, not the main move.

* Volt Switch should be used once Zapdos has successfully removed Stealth Rocks from the field so this way its teammate can come in safely. Using it against faster Pokemon allows Zapdos to bring in teammates like Mega-Aerodactyl and Landorus-Therian safely, while using it against slower Pokemon allows it to safely pivot into a wall like Mantine or Gliscor so they can completely stop the foe.
* Try to avoid having Zapdos getting its passive recovery compromised, getting its Leftovers knocked off or getting hit with a status move makes it harder for Zapdos to effectively wall opposing Pokemon.
* Make sure that Zapdos is healthy before it switches out, as it will make it easier for it to Defog effectively later in the match.
* Try to bluff Toxic against balance teams that are prone to it like Normal so that you can surprise would-be switch ins.

**Excadrill and Nidoking**: Both of these Pokemon completely stop Zapdos' SubToxic set and put heavy pressure on the Defog set as well. So, I thought about this and decided to remove it since there are more than just these specific examples that put a stop to subtoxic Zapdos for various reasons. Other Pokemon like Gliscor, Mega Steelix, and others also beat Zapdos for similar reasons that I don't think are unique enough to warrant a bullet.

**Opposing Walls**: Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Chansey, and Heatran all take very little damage from Zapdos. These walls will however fall to the SubToxic set. So the statement of "these walls will however fall to the subtoxic set" - I think it's not specific enough. Toxic isn't the reason that set beats Mega Venu or Heatran. If you want to keep that second sentence you could just say "However, other walls like x, x, and x are all threatened by the SubToxic set."

**Wallbreakers and Setup Sweepers**: Pokemon like Mega Gallade, Choice Specs Blacephelon, Refresh Mega Latias and Refresh Mega Altaria can break through Zapdos' defenses and eventually KO it.

A couple more things, but looks much better. QC 2/3

Overview:
- First two sentences are a bit repetitive?
- Be more specific about Pressure. Defog has more PP than Stealth Rock if you switch into it.
- SubToxic is the main set, so it shouldn't be the "alternative" to Defog.
- Think you could do to mention it's actually quite fast for a wall, which helps against Pokemon like Heatran.

SubToxic:

Usage Tips:
- Must mention switching into Stealth Rock to deplete its PP twice as quickly.

Other Options:
- Put spreads here. Max Speed SubToxic is better vs stuff like Kyurem-B but seriously hurts Zapdos's bulk. Or 108 Speed Zapdos for Jolly Breloom / Bisharp.

[OVERVIEW]

Flying
========
Zapdos finds itself as one of the most useful Pokemon a Flying-type team can use, (AC) as it serves as a great defensive Pokemon with its Electric-typing (add hyphen) allowing allows it to take attacks from the likes of Tapu Koko under Electric Terrain, (AC) and it is able to provide support for the team via Defog. Zapdos's (it was correct before but the change is also correct and i think it looks nicer, up to you tho) defensive bulk allows it to take hits from opposing offensive Pokemon, such as Gengar and Latios. With Pressure as its ability, Zapdos is able to wear down the PP of Stealth Rock quickly and successfully out stall out a Pokemon who that uses the move repeatedly. It also allows it to wear down the PP of other opposing moves that threaten its teammates. Zapdos's access to Roost and Toxic allows it to be an effective user of Pressure Stall stall and can force out opposing walls and offensive Pokemon with ease, (RC); (add semicolon) alternatively, (AC) it can also use Defog to become a fast specially defensive pivot able to outspeed the likes of Heatran and Diggersby. Zapdos can work efficiently as a pivot as well thanks to its access to Volt Switch allowing that allows it to make a good pivot core with teammates like Landorus-t Landorus-T and Tornadus-T. Zapdos effectively spreads status to the opposing team with Discharge and Toxic, allowing it to become a useful asset in wearing down opposing Pokemon for its teammates. However, (AC) because of this passive playstyle, (AC) Zapdos is prone to Taunt, which can be problematic if it is trying to Defog hazards, Heal heal itself with Roost, or wear down an opposing threat with Toxic. However despite Despite being a great wall, Zapdos can still be KOed by a lot of physical attackers like Mega Aerodactyl due to its slightly lackluster offensive presence and lack of physical bulk.

Moves

Substitute allows Zapdos to avoid status while also being able to stall almost any Pokemon down in tandem with Toxic and Roost. Toxic is used to beat opposing walls like Porygon2 and put offensive Pokemon like such as (avoiding repetition) Landorus-T and Kyurem-Black on a timer. It also wears down most Ground-types that are immune to Discharge. Discharge is primarily used as a STAB move that can paralyze opposing Pokemon, making it harder for them to KO Zapdos. It also hits most Poison- and Steel-type Pokemon that are immune to Toxic. Roost is used to keep Zapdos healthy, (AC) especially after using a couple of Substitutes.

Set Details
========
136 Speed investment with a Timid Nature nature is used to speed Speed creep max Speed Heatran and avoid its fast Toxic, (AC) as well as outpace Suicune and Nidoking. Maximum HP investment with the remaining EVs put into Special Defense allows Zapdos to maximize the health of its Substitute as well as and its own bulk. Pressure is used to further wear down the PP of threatening moves like Magma Storm, Stone Edge, Sludge Bomb, and Toxic is used so that Zapdos can force the users of these moves out. Leftovers is used so that allows Zapdos can to passively recover health behind its Substitute without being forced to use Roost. (optional changes in last sentence to avoid repetition due to the change in the sentence before)

Usage Tips
========
Take advantage of passive Pokemon like Mega Sableye so that you can to easily set up your Substitute and start stalling stall them out. Use Toxic liberally throughout the battle to spread status early-game. This allows Zapdos to be able to stall more later in the game, taking less pressure off of the rest of the team. Zapdos should avoid getting poisoned or burned, as it will make it immensely difficult for Zapdos to properly wall opposing Pokemon. Avoid getting hit by Knock Off, (AC) as losing your Leftovers makes it harder for this set to be effective. Take advantage of Discharge's 30% paralysis chance so that you can to provide pseudo some speed control against Pokemon like Greninja. Be wary of your usage of Discharge, (AC) however, as accidentally paralyzing a wall like Porygon2 or Cradily can be detrimental to your team as it makes will make them harder for your team to take down. Try to use Substitute when the opposing Pokemon is Badly Poisoned, badly poisoned or if you expect a Z-move Z-Move from a Pokemon that is slower than you, like such as Tapu Bulu and or Heatran.

Mantine is a great Defogger that can take Ice-type attacks for Zapdos while also being able to check threats to Zapdos like Choice Scarf Greninja. Its access to Haze also helps Zapdos immensely with setup sweepers like Azumarill. Celesteela also helps check Zapdos's threats thanks to its amazing typing, (AC) allowing it to take many Rock- and Ice-type attacks Zapdos is weak to. Celesteela also has access to Flamethrower, which can help get rid of opposing Steel-types like Ferrothorn that make it difficult for Zapdos to be effective. Skarmory helps take physical attacks that Zapdos is usually prone to and can also use Defog to remove Stealth Rocks from harming Zapdos and Whirlwind to phase out Set up Sweepers setup sweepers that would take advantage of Zapdos. Mega Aerodactyl is a fantastic assistant for Zapdos, (AC) as it can KO opposing Rock- and Ice-types with Earthquake and Stone Edge coverage. It also provides Stealth Rock support and Pursuit traps threats to Zapdos like Victini. Landorus-T and Gliscor are both good electric Electric immunities that can still assist Zapdos. Landorus-T acts as a good pivot with U-turn and as Speed speed control with a Choice Scarf, (AC) while Gliscor helps stallbreak opposing teams with its good bulk, high passive recovery, pseudo status immunity, (AC) and Taunt. Tornadus-T is an excellent pivot with its Speed and access to U-turn, and it is also an excellent offensive Defogger that can KO opposing Steel-types with Heat Wave and Knock Off opposing items.

Moves

Volt Switch is used so that Zapdos can pivot out of the fight to keep momentum going. Roost is used to recover Zapdos’s health and allows it to continue to be useful in the match. Defog is used to remove entry hazards from the field, easing the need for the move on Zapdos' other teammates so they can run other moves. Heat Wave hits Steel-types like such as Ferrothorn and Excadrill to keep them from walling Zapdos. Discharge can be used over Volt Switch so that Zapdos has a reliable STAB move that also has a decent Paralysis paralysis chance. Toxic can be used over Heat Wave to hit incoming walls and checks to Zapdos like Porygon2 and Landorus-T, putting them on a timer.

Set Details
========
Maximum Health HP investment paired with, (AC) 176 Special Defense EVs, (AC) and further augmented by a Calm Nature nature allows Zapdos to be as bulky as possible and survive a multitude of hits from offensive Pokemon like Gengar and Latios. Zapdos runs 80 Speed EVs to make sure that it outspeeds Adamant Bisharp and Adamant Diggersby. Leftovers is used to allow Zapdos to have as much passive recovery as possible. Pressure is Zapdos’s best ability, (AC) as it allows it to wear down the PP of opposing sweepers that it walls, limiting their choices as well as and forcing switches.

Usage Tips
========
Volt Switch should be used once Zapdos has successfully removed Stealth Rocks from the field so this way its teammates can come in safely. Using it against faster Pokemon allows Zapdos to bring in teammates like Mega-Aerodactyl and Landorus-Therian safely, while using it against slower Pokemon allows it to safely pivot into a wall like Mantine or Gliscor so they can completely stop the foe. Try to avoid having Zapdos getting its passive recovery compromised, as getting its Leftovers knocked off or getting hit with a status move makes it harder for Zapdos to effectively wall opposing Pokemon. Try to switch Zapdos in on a predicted Stealth Rock use, as it makes it easier to wear down the amount of times the opponent can use that move again, allowing your team to be able to switch into the fight easier. Make sure that Zapdos is healthy before it switches out, as it will make it easier for it to Defog effectively later in the match. Zapdos can act as pseudo Speed speed control by spreading Paralysis paralysis with Discharge, this which can be really useful for revenge killers like Kommo-o. Zapdos should use Toxic on a predicted switch in to a wall or electric an Electric immunity so that it can put them on a timer and give your team the upper hand. Try to bluff Toxic against balance teams that are prone to it like Normal so that you can surprise would-be switch-ins (add hyphen). Heat Wave is also important to keep hidden so you can surprise switch-ins (add hyphen) like Ferrothorn and Bisharp in the Steel matchup, allowing you to get the upper hand in the fight.

Team Options
========
The entire team appreciates Zapdos’s ability to remove Stealth Rocks effectively, as almost Flying-Types most Flying-types are weak to it. It's Its team members also appreciate its neutrality to Electric-type moves. Celesteela can wear down opposing Pokemon with Toxic and Leech Seed, and Leech Seed in particular can provide Zapdos with additional healing, allowing it to force out even more Pokemon. It also has a spectacular typing and great bulk that allows it to take Ice-type attacks for Zapdos as well. Mantine is an excellent switch-in to Pokemon like Greninja and can form a great defensive Defog core with Zapdos. Its access to Haze also allows it to make setup sweepers less of a problem for Zapdos. Landorus-T can use a utilize Choice Scarf to abuse its powerful Earthquake to remove threats to Zapdos like the previously mentioned, (AC) such as Nidoking, (RC) and Terrakion. Tornadus-T is a great assisting Defogger that helps take down checks to Zapdos like Mega Venusaur with its STAB Hurricane. It also forms a nice pivot core with Zapdos and appreciates Zapdos's ability to get rid of certain Steel-types that it struggles against, like such as Ferrothorn and Mega Scizor. Mega Aerodactyl appreciates Zapdos’s ability to wear down opposing walls and attackers so that it can clean opposing teams easier. In return, (AC) it can remove threats like such as Taunt Tapu Koko and Trick Latios so that Zapdos isn’t crippled or removed. Skarmory can switch into physical attacks from Pokemon like Excadrill and Mega Gallade. It also most notably, (AC) as well as neutralizes physical Rock-type attacks. Mega Charizard Y can wallbreak the walls that Zapdos struggles against like Mega-Venusaur (you've mentioned mega venusaur being a check not too long ago), making it easier for Zapdos to wear down opposing offensive Pokemon.

Flying
--------
Zapdos can use some alternative spreads to deal with certain threats better or to maximize its bulk while outspeeding other important key threats.
Zapdos's SubToxic set, (AC) for example, (AC) can run Max Speed and Max HP to outspeed Kyurem-B Black and wear down the use of its Fusion Bolt or Ice Beam. This, (AC) however, (AC) sacrifices Zapdos's longevity and bulk against other offensive Pokemon and makes it harder to switch into many Pokemon. You can also run a spread of 252 HP / 148 SpD / 108 Spe on the Defog set so that its survivablility increases while still still being able to outpace the likes of Jolly Bisharp and Jolly Breloom. This however However, this leaves you slower than Heatran, (AC) which forces you to make hard 50/50 decisions instead of being able to pivot out with ease.

Flying
--------
**Stallbreakers**: Pokemon like such as Hydreigon and Kommo-o can use Taunt to stop Zapdos's recovery and ability to Defog, which makes it a sitting duck for any incoming damage from the opposing team.

**Opposing Walls**: Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Chansey, and Heatran all take very little damage from Zapdos. However, other walls like such as Swampert, Celesteela, and Clefable are threatened by the SubToxic set.

**Wallbreakers and Setup Sweepers**: Pokemon like Mega Gallade, Choice Specs Blacephelon, Refresh Mega Latias, (AC) and Refresh Mega Altaria can break through Zapdos's defenses and eventually KO it.

**Super effective Coverage**: Like most Flying-types, Zapdos is weak to Rock- and Ice-type attacks, especially physical variants as Zapdos has due to its underwhelming physical Defense bulk.

**Status**: Zapdos gets completely shut down by Toxic since it relies on being healthy, (RC). (add period) and getting Getting burned does not help either, (AC) as it negates the negation of Leftovers which makes it harder to wall opposing Pokemon.

Moves
========

Set Details
========
Maximum HP investment, 176 Special Defense EVs, and a Calm nature allows (don't miss this!) Zapdos to be as bulky as possible and survive a multitude of hits from offensive Pokemon like Gengar and Latios. Zapdos runs 80 Speed EVs to make sure that it outspeeds Adamant Bisharp and Adamant Diggersby. Leftovers is used to give Zapdos as much passive recovery as possible. Pressure is Zapdos'(straight apostrophe)s best ability, as it allows it to deplete the PP of opposing sweepers that it walls, limiting their choices and forcing switches.

Usage Tips
========
Zapdos can provide speed control by spreading paralysis with Discharge, which can be really useful for to keep revenge killers like Kommo-o in check. Zapdos should use Toxic on a predicted switch to a wall or an Electric-immune Pokemon so that it can put them on a timer and give your its team the upper hand.

========
The entire team appreciates Zapdos'(straight apostrophe)s ability to remove Stealth Rock effectively, as most Flying-types are weak to it. Its access to Haze also allows it to make setup sweepers less of a problem for Zapdos. Mega Aerodactyl appreciates Zapdos'(straight apostrophe)s ability to wear down opposing walls and attackers so that it can clean opposing teams more easily. In return, it can remove threats such as Taunt Tapu Koko and Trick Latios so Zapdos isn'(straight apostrophe)t crippled or removed.

Other Options
=============

Flying
--------
Zapdos can use alternative spreads to deal with certain threats better or to maximize its bulk while outspeeding other important key threats. (no line break) Zapdos's SubToxic set, for example, can run maximum Speed and HP to outspeed Kyurem-B and deplete its Fusion Bolt or Ice Beam PP. This, however, sacrifices Zapdos's longevity and bulk against other offensive Pokemon and makes it harder to switch into many Pokemon. You Zapdos can also run a spread of 252 HP / 148 SpD / 108 Spe on the Defog set for increased survivability while still being able to outpace the likes of Jolly Bisharp and Jolly Breloom. However, this leaves Zapdos slower than Heatran, which forces you to make hard 50/50 decisions instead of being able to pivot out with ease.

Checks and Counters
===================

Flying
--------
**Stallbreakers**: Pokemon such as Hydreigon and Kommo-o can use Taunt to stop Zapdos's recovery and ability to Defog, which makes it a sitting duck for any incoming damage from the opposing team.
