[SET COMMENTS]

Offensive Zapdos can be quite a threat to teams that expect a weaker, more defensive Zapdos. The given attacks provide surprisingly good coverage in OU and with Zapdos's massive Special Attack can cause quite some havoc. Add in the fact that Zapdos is already pretty bulky and has the ability to Roost off damage it takes and you'll find it surprisingly difficult to beat Zapdos.

Life Orb is the recommended item for the extra power, but Leftovers is somewhat viable as well for the extra bulk. If Swampert is of little concern Hidden Power Grass can be dropped for Hidden Power Ice for a psuedo- boltbeam combo.

This is a very threatening set, I've seen it used against me. I think you should remove some of the speed EVs though for defense, to help a weakened Zapdos survive Scizor, who can hit it for nearly 50% minimum with a SD max attack LO bullet punch. You only need 184 I believe to beat +speed base 90 pokemon, I could be wrong though... It'd help against Lucario too. I'm suggesting this under the impression that Zapdos doesn't have many threats to want to speed tie with besides itself.

176 beats base 90s. For the record, I tried a set like this with Drill Peck in Heat Wave's spot before Platinum came out. It caught a few things-off guard (like Infernape and Machamp... hahahahahaha). However, now with Heat Wave the coverage is redundant.
