¡A diario una manzana es cosa sana! El excelente HP de Appletun, special bulk sólido y recuperación fiable le permiten actuar como un excelente special wall en ZU. Apple Acid daña switch-ins como Orthworm, Camerupt y Venusaur defensivo al disminuir su Special Defense y volviéndolos vulnerables ante Appletun y sus compañeros. Dragon Pulse cumple un rol similar contra Pokémon que no sufren mucho ante la disminución de Special Defense. Dragon Tail le permite hacer phaze a Pokémon que de lo contrario podrían soportar a Appletun indefinidamente o usarlo como setup fodder debido a su pasividad, tales como Articuno, Orthworm y Toxicroak. A pesar de su pobre Attack, su bajo Speed le permite hacer 2HKO con Gyro Ball a Whimsicott, Tera Fairy Mesprit ofensivo y Cryogonal. Este movimiento también sinergiza con Tera Steel al boostear su daño y convirtiendo las debilidades a movimientos tipo Ice, Flying, Poison, Bug, Dragon y Fairy en resistencias, mientras que mantiene la debilidad ante tipo Fuego neutral gracias a Thick Fat. Appletun funciona muy bien en equipos balance como una respuesta ante algunos Pokémon que hacen setup y a la mayoría de tipos Fuego ofensivos en la tier, además de tomar ventaja de las entry hazards de compañeros como Froslass defensivo.
An apple a day keeps the doctor away! Appletun's great HP stat, solid special bulk, and reliable recovery let it act as a strong specially defensive wall in the ZU metagame. Apple Acid weakens switch-ins such as Orthworm, Camerupt, and defensive Venusaur by lowering their Special Defense, making them increasingly vulnerable to Appletun and its teammates. Dragon Pulse serves a similar role against Pokémon that don't care much about Apple Acid's Special Defense drops. Dragon Tail lets Appletun phaze Pokémon that would otherwise sit on it indefinitely or use it as setup fodder due to its passivity, such as Articuno, Orthworm, and Toxicroak. Despite Appletun's poor Attack stat, its very low Speed still allows Gyro Ball to 2HKO Whimsicott, offensive Tera Fairy Mesprit, and Cryogonal. Gyro Ball also synergizes with Tera Steel, boosting its damage and turning Appletun's weaknesses to Ice-, Flying-, Poison-, Bug-, Dragon-, and Fairy-type moves into resistances while keeping Fire-type damage neutral thanks to Thick Fat. Appletun is best utilized on balance team as an answer to some setup Pokemon and most offensive Fire-types in the tier, taking advantage of the entry hazards from teammates such as defensive Froslass.
