Mario Kart Wii is already out for most of the world and will be out this Sunday for us in the West. This is great and all, but even for me, it feels like it is coming out pretty soon after Brawl. Infact, all of the anticipated games for Nintendo have already come out.
We got Metroid Prime 3, Smash Bros, Zelda, Mario Galaxy, the new Mario Party, the sequal to Stadium, and of course Mario Kart. All the big titles we are a costumed to have release throughout a nintendo's console's life span have all came out with in the first year and a half, leaving a big gap between the end of the this generation and now. What can we expect to fill in?
First of all, there are some games that really haven't been touched yet. Mario Tennis for example has yet to be seen on the Wii even though Sega and Wii Sports have already done plenty of tennis imo.
There is also Kirby and Donkey Kong, who haven't had a good adventure console game since 64, and I feel like they have been lacking one.
Something that could bring smiles back on fans' faces is the fact that Twilight Princess isn't truly a Wii game, since it was originally made for GCN. When the next one comes (why wouldn't there be a next one?), Nintendo can actually focus on taking the Wii's graphics to their limit. Also, with more time, they could better intertwine the motion controls into the game. I'm sure plenty agree with me that some of the controls seemed forced.
Other than that, there is nothing left but a broad horizon. To me, this is the most exciting of all, yet somewhat scary. Nintendo has been criticized for being stuck in their ways and never daring to venture off from their staple game series. Now, with the Nintendo fanatics satisfied with their classic favorites remade, Nintendo can dare to be more innovative in a new way... not by how they play their old games, but the creation of new games and possibly a new series.
All this and more, are answers maybe answered at the next E3, but until then, we do know to expect Wii Fit sometime soon and Wii Music is still TBA. I have seem to have written myself into a corner so: DISCUSS
