Conflict in the Moogle Village: Arcanite vs. Nightmare jigglypuff! (1 vs 1 Singles)

The Moogle Village: a calm, relaxing place where trainers can allow their Pokemon to beat each others' skulls in. I'm Dummy007, your esteemed (in my opinion) ref, and I'm here today to comment on and explain what goes on in this heated fight! The Moogles have all gathered to watch as well, and they're armed with stones, spears, and popcorn to throw at the competing Pokemon. The trainers are coming up the road now, great heroes whose exploits have been carefully recorded word for word in the CAP ASB subforum on smogon.com. Arcanite and Nightmare jigglypuff are their names; text-based Pokemon battling is their game!

Here's a complete description of the Moogle Village, for those of you who don't feel like searching the Battle Tower Thread for it.
Moogle Villiage:

Or Fully evolved Pokemon
Each round they will pelt any pokemon with stones, doing 5, 10 and 20 damage respectively for each condition.
The Moogle villiage also like rest and relaxation, so you can heal 10 HP and 10 energy for free twice in the game, using an action [Command: Moogle Hotel] (does not count towards rests/Chills).

  • Blaze: (Innate) When this Pokemon’s HP is lower than 33%, the base damage of any fire attack is increased by two (2). (eg Flamethrower goes from 10 to 12, Fire Blast from 12 to 14)

Type:
Normal: Normal STAB; adapt comfortably to any surrounding after 3 actions. Able to use Outrage without losing focus.

Abilities:

  • Cute Charm: (Innate) This Pokemon’s natural cuteness causes Pokemon of the opposite gender in the same egg group to be attracted to it 30% of the time after striking with a contact move.
  • Technician: (Innate) This Pokemon is more skilled at performing weaker moves, causing any of their attacks that normally have 6 or less Base Attack Power to have their Base Attack Power multiplied by 1.5. (e.g. Aerial Ace goes from 6 to 9, Mach Punch goes from 4 to 6, etc.) The Energy Cost for a one-hit or two-hit attack is increased by one (1). Each hit in a multi-hit move is boosted by one (1) Base Attack Power, and the Energy Cost for multi-hit attacks is increased by two (2). Because Technician is a multiplier on single hit moves, its effect is applied to Base Attack Power before any additive effects.
  • Skill Link: (DW) (Innate) This Pokemon’s skillfull aim makes its multi-hit moves always hit 5 times. The Energy Cost of multi-hit attacks is increased by three (3). (Not yet Active)

  • Contrary: (DW) (Can be enabled) This Pokemon's unique structure reverses stat changes it recieves in battle, both from its attacks and the opponents. At the end of the round, stat changes will still increase/decrease toward 0. (Not yet Active)

Sheer Force (DW Locked): (Can Be Enabled) This Pokemon can energize all its attacks with secondary effect chances less than 100%. When Enabled, the Base Attack Power of every move with an effect chance less than 100% increases by two (2), but they will never have a secondary effect.

Why doesn't Phredd have Superpower yet?

Well, we can deal without it. Lolattackspam with Waterfall, then Crunch, then Waterfall.

If he ever tries to Encore, Protect against it!
 
Because if he did, he would get pelted with moogle stones, although, knowing the moogles, they might just be materia!

Round 1 Begin!

The Moogles gather ever closer as the battle actually starts! Arcanite releases Moogle the Minccino, who is welcomed onto the field with plenty of applause! Apparently people like you more when you're one of their race. Nightmare jigglypuff releases Phredd the Totodile, who doesn't receive any cheering whatsoever from the crowd of huddling creatures. Racism: Lowering Spirits Since...yeah.

Moogle decides to take advantage of the large crowd by Singing his favorite tune. (For another version of this tune, click the link in the OP :P) While the crowd cheers, Phredd bangs his head against the ground to the point that he falls unconscious. His sleep is deep, causing him to miss his chance to act for this turn.

Moogle isn't letting up, though. Using his tail, he slaps Phredd twice, leaving a sizable dent in Phredd's health. Sensing that the music has stopped, Phredd cautiously stands up, feeling pain though he doesn't remember being hit. Noticing Moogle off to one side, he feels the need to exercise his jaws, so uses a powerful Crunch on the little Minccino. The crowd begins booing, but Phredd takes no notice.

Taking advantage of the close range, Moogle uses his feather duster of a tail to tickle Phredd. He begins laughing so hard that his Attack and Defense stats fall. However, he does retain enough concentration to summon forth a waterfall, leaving Moogle pretty badly bruised. The crowd begins jeering again, but Phredd cares about as much this time as he did last time: Zero.

Round 2 Begin!

The Moogles let out cheers as Moogle takes his next action. In three fell swoops, Moogle's tail delivers a series of painful slaps to Phredd's crocodilian face, leading to another round of applause from the excited audience. Not to be outdone, Phredd causes a bunch of water to fall on Moogle's head. The crowd boos, which is starting to get kind of annoying, considering they do that every time Phredd does something.

Phredd anticipates another attack, so he sets up a protective force field to neutralize the damage. Moogle just kind of sits there, chinchillin' and all, before he runs up and jauntily smacks the force field with a pound of bricks- or was it a pound of feathers? Whichever weighs more. Phredd looks a little disappointed that he spent all this time and energy to create a shield that defended against a light breeze, but at least he saved a little HP.

Moogle takes advantage of the close quarters (again) and launches a wave of electrical energy at Phredd. Infused with the power of thunder, the attack paralyzes Phredd, much to the satisfaction of the audience. In response, Phredd pulls out a shovel and deftly slices his way through the earth. All the Moogles (including Moogle) stop and stare as Phredd determinedly tunnels through the battlefield. After a few feet, he turns sideways and attempts the same thing. After a minute or two of this, though, he gets tired, so he climbs out of the hole snd scoops up some dirt in his shovel. Walking over to Moogle, he pours the dirt on Moogle's head and smacks the Minccino in the face with his shovel. At least, he would have, if his muscles hadn't locked up right before the impact. Cursing paralysis, he strolls back to his corner of the arena, leaving a relieved Moogle and an even more relieved crowd in his wake. Weirdest failed Dig ever.

No, I meant for the actions to continue so Thunder wave would have been used third, paralyzing him before he dug.

Round 3 Begin!

The battle is quickly drawing to a close, and the Moogles are anxious to see the outcome. Moogle, eager to please his kinsmen, give Phredd a good slap with his tail. Three hits-in-rapid-succession later, Phredd is lying on his back, red welts covering his bluish face. Totodile are known for their short tempers, and this one is no exception. Phredd jumps back up in a flash, smacking Moogle upside the head with a Waterfall. Moogle keeps his composure, but the spectators have worked themselves into a rage. If they get hit, it's likely their Attack will increase! (LAAAAAAAME)

Again Moogle goes on a slapping spree, his fluffy tail mysteriously leaving Phredd on low health after only two hits. Phredd attempts to use Crunch, but his jaws lock up, a sure sign of full paralysis. However, the freeze-up gives his body a chance to relax a bit, lowering his paralysis to 10%.

Moogle, whose Energy is rapidly running out, goes for yet another Tail Slap, reducing Phredd to a meager 24 health. Three hits can really add up when you've got Technician. Phredd tries to Waterfall again, but full paralysis is all the rage these days in the Moogle Village, and Phredd, hip with the times and all, decides to go with the flow. The full paralysis does reduce his paralysis to 5%, meaning Phredd is no longer paralyzed now that the turn is over!

Umm, my energy should be 12 higher, as a1 in the previous round was not a consecutive use, so it should have been 7,11 and 15 energy respectively!

Round 4 Begin!

Moogle defies all logic and hits FIVE TIMES with a DOUBLEslap. While Nightmare jigglypuff goes to complain to the hax gods about trolling, Phredd deals MASSIVE DAMAGE to Moogle with Waterfall. This is getting really intense now, and the Moogles are ready to lynch Phredd if they need to.

Fortunately for the gator, this is made unnecessary by Moogle's Tail Slap the next action. Though it only hits twice, it deals enough damage to cause Phredd to faint! The crowd goes wild, erupting into great cheers, except for the Moogle Hotel workers, who were really looking forward to doing something this match. As Nightmare jigglypuff recalls Phredd and heads off to Hax Lord Tower, two words are displayed on a big screen that randomly appeared out of nowhere: Arcanite wins!
