Couldn't sleep so I decided to hatch some eggs. Nearly every single Pokemon I've IV bred ever since I got the Shiny Charm has produced a shiny for me now! ...If only they'd all have the right ability and/or IVs :(

hey erriku, dont worry. i felt the same way too when shiny hunting for my growlithe. i got it on my 1927th egg hatched. just keep on hatching. i know it takes a long time because it took me 3 weeks to get shiny growlithe. stay confident, watch your fav shows while you hatch and you will get it eventually. dont give up. ur closer than you know.

No shiny noibat yet. This is my longest shiny drought yet(and the first one I've counted, but surely it has gone longer than my other droughts). My female noibat went in at level 1, and she's now level 88! That's going to be one big daycare fee.

Holy crap. I apologize for not checking in with this for a while. I've been really busy lately and not in the greatest shape. Anyway. Had intended to check in every 150 eggs, but I ended up just finishing my goal of 900 and I literally got a shiny in the last batch of eggs. After my first one was like worst case scenario, I wasn't expecting much, but I got pretty much the best possible outcome.

So happy right now. Luxray is my absolute favorite Pokemon at this point and this is borderline perfect for me. Gonna EV train and build a team around it now. I may end up going for one more shiny, probably an Espurr, but I'm not sure yet. Gonna enjoy this one for now. xD

Okay, I'm curious. I've believed that you're A LOT more likely to get shiny pokemon by MM breeding than you are by random wild encounter (no pokeradar, no chained fishing, etc). In my time counting eggs for this thread, I've gotten 1 shiny by breeding, and a whopping *6* by wild encounter.
This last session, I did spend a bit more time in the grass, first to check out what was in a few new friend safaris, and then to EV train some pokemon with horde battles, but still, I ended up with 2 new caught shinies (phantump from a friend safari, and hoppip from a horde battle), in approximately 150 battles all told.
Is it confirmed that MM breeding is better odds than random wild encounters? Are these numbers just normal for people with the shiny charm?
