Silly Things You've Seen In Other Metagames

Why do people use mediocre stuff like Electrode on mono teams when stuff like Thundurus is completely better?

Just because this particular battle competition is set to level 30 does not necessarily mean you have to run NFE's.

Mega evolving your Kangaskhan in BH is bad enough. Spamming Sucker Punch against a Cresselia that obviously has no intention of attacking is worse. But Blue Flare?

Yeah...

Electric mono from before returns, revealing Explosion Electrode. His opponent had, among other things, Murkrow and Hone Claws Noivern.

Shuca Berry Mawile, and just what was that Pinsir guy thinking?

Acrobatics+Flamethrower Life Orb Talonflame, Return+Giga Drain Ferrothorn, Night Slash Shedinja, mixed Dragonite without Multiscale, Flamethrower+Blizzard+Outrage Gyarados, Blizzard Torrent Greninja, and Acrobatics Charizard Y... it feels like the OU thread all over again.

OU team vs. 6 Imposter Dittos, one of which ended up struggling to its death when it had teammates alive.

Also, just a message to you PU players out there: If you are using Marowak without Thick Club, you are not using Marowak correctly.

The ability of Parental Bond Super Fang and Night Shade to 2HKO everything not named Giratina, along with outclassing literally every other offensive ability not already banned, was why Parental Bond was banned in the first place- granted, that particular one didn't run them but saying that mega-ing Kanga in BH is bad is flat-out wrong.

At least he admitted he was doing something wrong. Eventually.

Dream Eater Mega Gengar is one thing. Using it on Darkrai is another. Also, Hypnosis in BH at all, Feraligatr, Entei, Outrage Palkia, and Dragon Tail everywhere.

So Illusion Pinsir is a thing now...?

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/fairyfaceoff-162523620
I think we found a use for Synchronoise now.

Warning: noobs. (not really sure where else to put this one)

Lunatone and Solrock, both with Trick Room and GRAVITY. And he won.

A mono Explosion team in Haxmons meets its match.

Due to guts Shedy's clear op ness i will post the set here:
shed sprite.gif
Best Shed Set (Shedinja) @ Flame Orb
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Endeavor
- Ice Shard
- Trick
- ExtremeSpeed
Clearly metagame changing. I don't think i need to explain the sheer power and destruction this set can do.

Nice set. I just want to say Hail > E Speed to help take away Shedinja's weakness to sandstorm

Nah, you're better off running final gambit in the last slot. Ice types are immune to hail, and you want to be able to kill those off. You could also try protect/ variant to scout before attacking.

In unrelated news, I just missed 6 focus blasts in a row after finally getting a tier shift battle.

WTF is this? Oran Berry everything, work up, wing attack, dazzling gleam. It hurts.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-162926239
This is actually me fighting in a battle and I have to say, sitrus berry deo-d and electric gem mega ampharos with charge beam don't exactly strike me as top tier threats.

Forgot to save the replay, but I spectated a PU battle with Shadow Ball+Explosion Gourgeist-Average and an Altaria that wanted to hit other dragons so badly it ran Draco Meteor, Dazzling Gleam, and Ice Beam.

Edit: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/almostanyability-163175183
Magician Rotom-Fan. Why. Either. Mummy Chansey was a bit odd, and Levitate Heatran is not obvious, apparently.

Ninetales using Solarbeam after its sun ran out. Magcargo. Air Balloon Combusken. Electivire. And motherfucking PACHIRISU (at least it managed to use Nuzzle successfully).

Using Frenzy Plant on an obvious Critdra is not the greatest idea. Nor is Serperior in 1v1, for that matter. Or the not sent out Fennekin.

Electric mono in Triples. Alas, abusing your own Discharges will only get you so far.

What the actual fuck...
