  • I know I asked about this before but can you try mechanic changes? It makes the project a lot more diverse than "break this mon". Testing stuff like using 4th gen explosion mechanics, removal of the weather turn counter, and griseois orb style mega evo's would make the project a lot more diverse and would generate more activity

We could do this for sure, i just wanted to have some strict rules because if i included mechanic changes then you can't imagine the kind of suggestions i would get. Anyway, talk about this with Chou Toshio, he may start the project again with some revisions, so if he likes your idea he may consider it.
So is the idea with Theorymons that people continue posting suggestions, and if the standards increase and enough participate you will start it back up again?

Always feel free to PM me suggestions for if and when i decide to reopen the thread.

Normal/Ghost Banette+Mega Banette - It's a possessed doll, and tediursa is normal type I guess? Anyway, gives banette more switch-in and mega evolution opportunities, and finally lets it have a powerful stab in Double Edge or Return. Could be a powerful stallbreaker with Taunt/Will-o-wisp/Shadow Claw/Double Edge
Sandstorm Gigalith: Can provide team support with it and it can get a nice special defence boost while setting up stealth rocks, which was one of his problems, im sorry if im not good at speeches ;3; ( if you want to include thsi one in this slate or the enxt one is your choice)
I have an idea, Bulk Up Swampert. This may seem completely odd and useless, but it has a cool base 100 HP, enabling it to set up 101 Substitute, this gives it a decent niche in SubBU.
Hypnosis Doublade? Thanks to No Guard, Hypnosis becomes a never-missing sleep inducing move which can hit Grass Types and Overcoat users; providing Doublade with a turn to set up with Swords Dance or Automize.
just an idea, rock head archeops and dark aura weavile.

Both have been suggested before and come under "mindless offensive buff".

lol whatever, the slates are becomuing stale, just trying to help
Ok stole this one but... Sand Rush Flygon. With Sand Rush Excadrill rising in usage the merits of SR flygon are pretty obvious, RK for Zard X even at plus 2 and a pretty cool offensive defogger.
How about Competitive Accelgor? With Accelgor's great speed tier it has potential to do some work with that 100 base SpA at +2. Especially considering one of Accelgor's main downfalls with it's inability to boost it's SpA. It's also worth noting how powerful it would be with Baton Pass. WIth that epic speed it could quickly baton pass the boosts to another powerful sweeper.

Flavor wise I guess it competes with Escavalia?
On 2nd thought though it would be tricky because most Defoggers are Flying type, and a if Accelgor switches into a Flying type move it could be trouble. :/
how do we go about me getting the VR thread? Do I just repost or is there a way I can just take it over without making a new one?

Ok, basically, just make sure to send me a PM of the changes you plan on making on the thread each time, so we can discuss them and be coordinated. It would also be nice if we could meet on irc a few times each month to talk about the thread.

A supermod can replace Gary's post as the OP with yours, but with exactly the same content.
Regenerator Swampert: finally gives him good recovery which it would really like and Swampert wouldn't lose much since it's other abillities are garbage.
Flavorwise, the animal who inspired the Swampert line is the axolotl, who can regenerate lost limbs.
I like the idea of Aerilate Noivern. When Aerilate is applied to Boomburst, it becomes an 182BP STAB attack with perfect accuracy. It also has the added bonus of hitting through Subs.

This seems like just a mindless offensive buff though
Sniper Infernape is seeming pretty cool. It would run focus energy + razor claw like Kingdra, but with Overheat over Draco Meteor. I ran some calcs and it is quite strong. Talonflame and Azumaril still easily revenge kill him but can't switch into him anymore. Because he will be getting critical hits all the time he would be a powerful check to baton pass teams as well as he will ignore their defense boosts.
I have an idea for OU Theorymon:
How about switching the attack and special attack stats of Sceptile (then, it will have 105 atk and 85 sp.atk)? 75% of its (more useful) offensive movepool is physical (Leaf Blade, Crunch, Drain Punch, EQ, Rock Slide and more). Its only good special attacks are limited to Giga Drain, Focus Miss, Leaf Storm and Hidden Power.
Ok so if you like any of these suggestions feel free to choose 1, there are 2 btw. Water/Dragon Feraligatr: Makes sense flavor-wise, as it gets outrage,d-claw and d-dance. Strong Jaw Feraligatr: Makes sense flavor-wise, as its species name is Big Jaw Pokemon and it can learn bite, crunch and ice fang, not counting the fact that in its design it has giant teeth.

Water / Dragon Gatr is interesting, i might include it in the future, thx!

np dude, cheers for reading ^.^
Magic Guard Togekiss: A Defogger immune to hazards would be good. It also could use Flame Orb + Psycho Shift now. Sash + Endeavor + Extreme Speed would be a fun gimmick too.

Sounds great, will probably add in the future, thx!
Here's a new idea: Glare Crobat. It makes sense flavour-wise, and it would be fantastic as a sweep stopper with a fast paralysing move that dodges Ground-types and gets behind Substitutes. It also has utility in Defog and U-Turn, which would allow it to efficiently support an offensive team. What do you think?
    ethan06
    ethan06
tl;dr Infiltrator paralysis that hits Garchomp
    alexwolf
    alexwolf
Good one, but i don't think it would be good enough to make Crobat worth using. Defensive Pokemon will still be able to manhandle Crobat, and it's still kinda frail with an SR weakness and really mediocre power.

    That's fair :)
Drought Houndoom. Before Mega Evolving, regular Houndoom can come in and activate Drought, and then can Mega Evolve and sweep from there thanks to Solar Power, making him a one-time stall breaker that performs extremely well. Top that off with 115 Speed to sweep some offensive teams and Nasty Plot to break through stall teams, and you have yourself a scary sweeper on your hands.
    Valmanway
    Valmanway
An example of his sweeping prowess after a Nasty Plot boost:

    +2 252 SpA Solar Power Mega Houndoom Overheat vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Eviolite Chansey in Sun: 643-757 (91.3 - 107.5%) -- 43.8% chance to OHKO

I used this in AAA. Tis very nice :3
Electrify Thunderus-t. Being able to absorb opposing attacks and recover hp is impressive. This would cause people to have to rethink their teams and ensure they contain Pokemon which outspeed it or contain priority. This would destroy stall.
    cartoon warrior
I was also thinking of Fur Coat Stoutland. Its wide movepool would make it an effective Assault Vest user.
Okay, here is a new one that may not be too good but its worth a shot.

Ghost/Electric Dusknoir. As an evolution, its outclassed by its pre-evolution due to marginal defended increasez
    Salemance
    Salemance
Failed to finish that. Well its dex entries say it picks up radio waves, thus giving it some flavor and giving him useful resistances over his pre evolution.

My first idea and preceded one was Ghost/Poison Dusknoir, but that doesn't make much if any sense.
Dark/Poison Umbreon: Makes sense flavor-wise as its dex is: When agitated, this Pokémon protects itself by spraying poisonous sweat from its pores. Would also give Umbreon only 1 weakness, never missing toxic and a poison/toxic immunity, i think its a pretty sweet idea. c-:
    Mareep Sweep
    Mareep Sweep
Its Pokemon Mystery Dungeon sayings when it is at 51%-100% health: I can take foes down using poison! And when its leveling up: My level's up. My poison has intensified, too.

I like this, will consider it thx!
What do you think would happen if Regigigas had Recover or Slack Off?

Actually I guess just Toxic would be enough to screw it over
OK, Slowing didn't work either. This time, I'll focus on Klefki. There are two buffs that I'm contemplating between, so I'll present them both and let you decide. The first one is Taunt. Unlike most other Pranksters, Klefki cannot use Taunt. This means that it can easily be limited to one support move.
    Mowtom
    Mowtom
I think that with its great defensive typing, Dual Screens, and Leftovers, Klefki would appreciate Taunt/Stealth Rock more than Recover, but that would be a good buff as well.
    Jacks0n
    Jacks0n
yeh true, klefki should get taunt, a nice buff.
    Mowtom
    Mowtom
Or Stealth Rock. I can't decide which to suggest, so I'm suggesting both :-)
