Okay, so I got to talk to Deck, & all he said about Confusion was...
"[20:18:24] Deck_Knight Confusion's counter lowers at each check, so if you roll 2 confusion actions, it lowers at the first check."
After searching some sources, Confusion actually lasts 2-5 actions in-game, with the check happening each time the "(x) is confused!" message shows up, which means it effectively lasts 1-4 actions, & since ASB apparently follows in-game on checks, confusion apparently always lasts one actions less than advertised... >_>
All I have to say on the thing we were arguing about is w/e, but yeah. Confusion is dumb.
But if what you assume to be correct is different to what ASB assumes to be correct, then what you assume to be correct is obviously incorrect. It is vague, I know, but since the decay is at the start of the action, & a Pokemon snaps out when the confusion counter hits 0, then given the context of what we are arguing, Colossoil snaps out A1. Think of 2 action confusion as 2 end of actions...
If you feel this does not make sense, bring it up in feedback, but the bottom line is that because of when confusion decays, soil should snap out A1.
Your interpretation of Confusion is incorrect; from the DAT on Confusion: "If the Pokemon's Confusion Stage is 0 at the start of its action, it snaps out of confusion and attacks normally."
Also, it is possible to get 2a confusion from an advertised 2a Confusion; It requires the Pokemon inflicting Confusion to occur before the inflicted attacks. >_>
