Kingdra (F) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Swift Swim
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Scald
- Hydro Pump
- Dragon Pulse / Draco Meteor
- Sleep Talk / HP Fire

Kabutops (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Waterfall
- Low Kick
- Stone Edge

Politoed @ Damp Rock
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 168 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA / 84 Spe
Modest Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
- Hypnosis / Scald
Can I get some rain with these 3?

I want Kingdra+Kabu to break walls for the other to sweep. Unsure on whether Sleep Talk or HP Fire will be more useful. Offensive Poli can hurt stuff.

I just want a really successful rain team with the three. I want for it to involve a Mega too.

So yeah, cool workshop CTC. It's gr8 that the BasedLord himself helps to make teams for us scrubs (jk about the scrubs thing, you're still cool though).

Anyways, I'd like a rain offense featuring:
Manaphy @ Leftovers
EVs: 80 HP, 252 SpA, 176 Spd
Timid Nature
-Tail Glow
-Surf
-Ice Beam
-Energy Ball

Thundurus @ Leftovers/Damp Rock
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 4 Def, 252 SpA, 252 Spd
Timid Nature
-Rain Dance
-Thunder Wave
-Thunderbolt/Thunder
-HP Flying

Alternatively Thundurus can be a Defiant Variant but I'd prefer the Prankster one, for manual weather setting. I'm pretty sure I'll wanna see Politoed, just dont know what set.

Rain Offense is a meta I liked a lot in BW2, and I think that this kind of thing can still work in XY....not at its peak but still very effective indeed. Thanks in advance.

WildIvanAppeared sry bruh taht core is tooooo common and worn out to be used again i mean i can make alot of variations around it but they just seem stale to me. ask around im sure

newer version seems ass doe,,,, will try to make a better scoli passing team in free time
regarding power rangers, sneak was cuz there was rlly no better coverage move at that time n i dont think u can just change a mon or two n preserve the structur of that team cuz nothing fills deos' niche.

So with aegi pretty much banned and the viability of more terrakion sets rising just thought id ask you to build round one of my prefered sets for terrakion at the moment. The utility of sub on terrakion is sometimes understated and this set i think does truly have some benefits over others such as double dance. Id appreciate it if you could try do something with it. :] ( I don't really care what style of play it is :3 )

Terrakion @ Salac Berry
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

hello ctc big fan here
SD Celebi gud? y or naah? Diancie gud? y or nah?
I could answer these for ya:

No. Neither is particularly good. However fortunately for you ctc builds great teams with ass stuff all the time (see: toge, mantine, reuniclus) so you're in luck there, both are still usable (tho SD Celebi is brutally outclassed by NP Celebi so not sure how he'd handle that) and actually have pretty good defensive synergy with each other so you got that going for em if you want both on the same team (although Mega Zard Y n Heracross and Bisharp are all gonna have a field day with them so here's to hoping you like Heatran cuz that's pretty much a guaranteed teammate)

Awesome thread here props on starting it.

I've been using a core with these three lately

Mega Gardevoir (M)
Trait: Trace -> Pixilate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Hyper Voice
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Will O Wisp

Scizor (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 248 HP/ 252 Atk / 4 SDef /
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- Knock Off
- U-Turn
- Superpower

Noivern (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Infiltrator
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Hurricane
- Flamethrower
- Roost

I've had success with this core working together. Gardevoir and Noivern really mess with stall both ignoring Subs as well as Noivern having a fast taunt. Noivern has also made a good revenge killer trolling Greninja with it's extra point of speed and other frail fast attackers that can't stomach a neutral Draco Meteor. Scizor has made a great wallbreaker and it's slow U-turns have really helped the frailer Gardevoir and Noivern switch in to keep the damage going. My problem now is finding the right fit for the other three Pokemon to support this core. Hazards are a must obviously but I'm not sure if I wanna gear this team towards a more balanced or hyper offense....

Well then, CTC how about another HO team but this time with Mega Mawile and LandyThundy?
Pop a Pursuit Aegi, Specs Keld and Mamo/Chomp on there and you're good. That's a pretty standard team that I use, and I'd personally recommend SD FF maw & 4 attacks land w/ EarthBlastPsyWave (unless psychic thund). You could also put rocks on land and drop mamo for bish for either more pursuit support or at least mindgames wondering which is gonna have it.

Ty 4 the team guys, will try it out right now, except that can you make me another good HO team with Mamoswine this time to check fucking dragons along with Gliscor and flying types, and include a Mega too :)

The wild Ivan used edit! Its Super-Effective!

BTW, CTC, you can do this after you are available since you said you will be doing frontier n shit, so gl.

ok imma john frontier til monday aeg ban. anyways the rain core is very standard and can be slappd onto any other 3 mon core, so i chose sd megachomp in rain cuz this shit just breaks every single kabu switchin (skarm, venu, gastro, lant?, ferro, etc) and just shjits on stall in general.

already have aero squads plz scroll up^ or use du's aero squad that one looks rlly solid.
aj is for sucker punch cuz i have no dark resist for bisharp, it also bypasses thund. dont need sd's breaking power when i have a sd megachomp.
Lord Ninjax iv tried rd thund manual rain teams but ud rather have kingdra or kabu etc for that function, u dont even have rest on mana to abuse rain and it does just as well out of rain.
Disclaimer: p much all these teams since page 1 r made under the assumption that aegi is gone diddy so,,, yea dont fite an aegi user,, another tip: seeing as zone is gettni kinnnnda popular, on these balanced teams skarms item can be shed shell over helmet.

I would like to request a MEGA AERO god squad. I do realize I may not get it soon, but I like Mega Aero because it poops all over offense(and stall if you do taunt+roost)

Aerodactyl @ Aerodactylite
Ability: Unnerve
EVs: 16 HP / 252 Atk / 240 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Aerial Ace/Taunt/Roost
- Ice Fang/Taunt/Roost
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge

Stallbreaker Aero or offensbreaker Aero is your choice.

an offensive core i have been testing is sharpedo + mega manectric. sharpedo is great on offense as it sweeps common sand and HO teams very easily. only thing stopping it is thundurs prankster twave which manectric abosrbs and gets that spa attack boost. both are also anti meta and unusual but when used right i believe can be effective if you could make a team around that core it would be great

Heads up, on the Chompy you gave Gingy, it has Naive>Jolly, and it has Fire Fang>Fire Blast. May want to fix that.
Also, any reason for Aqua Jet>SD? Lack of Priority?
And thanks.

Smog Frog Hone Claws Dactyl is good. IMO, use that over what you have, cause it is pretty awesome.

^pretty sure he's total srs, Mega Pinsir is best mega, Mega Pinsir for president

Anyway I found this old Smog article about cores from Gen 4 that's pretty much beyond obsolete (bar SkarmBliss) and it looks pretty challenging to get anything decent out of a lot of these but I find them rather intriguing in the "wtf can we possibly do with this shit" kind of way, and here they are:

https://www.smogon.com/smog/issue10/cores

Aqua Tail on Ttar? T-Wave and Substitute on Magnezone? Baton Pass Jolteon? Aw yiss

Idk about you but this one right here looks exceptionally tantalizing:

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 164 HP / 168 Atk / 176 Spe
Jolly nature (+Spe, -SpA)
- Substitute
- Thunder Wave
- Iron Head
- Fire Punch

Machamp @ Leftovers
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SpA)
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- DynamicPunch
- Ice Punch

You can make it work, I believe in u (kind of). What looks kind of sexy to me atm is getting some hazards up all over the place then parashufflin with T-Wave Dragonite, abuse multiscale and Dragon Tail everything and their mother. Maybe something along thes lines:

Dragonite @ Leftovers
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef / 4 Spd
Careful Nature
- Thunder Wave
- Roost
- Substitute
- Dragon Tail

I'd even slap a Toge on there and flinchax everything to death, but heyo that's just me (I'd suggest not doing that)

nice powerful thread

hmmm how about a stall team with these three

Amoonguss @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 40 Def / 216 SpD
Calm Nature
- Foul Play / Hidden Power [Fire]
- Giga Drain
- Clear Smog / Sludge Bomb
- Spore

Charizard @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 248 HP / 96 Def / 132 SpD / 32 Spe
Calm Nature
- Fire Blast / Flamethrower
- Focus Blast / Earthquake
- Roost
- Will-O-Wisp

Alomomola @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 36 HP / 220 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Scald
- Toxic

and teambuilding process please :]6

EDIT: k well, I heard about defensive zard y in the ou chat and want to try it out, also want to use the other two to form a regenerator core and a FWG core. Amoon gave a solid way to beat aegi(rip) keldeo and other things, while mola passes huge wishes to heal the team and keeps numerous threats in check Typing on tablet is annoying af

WildIvanAppeared, if you look through the first post, you'll see he has already posted 3 teams with Mega Pinsir, and has proceeded to post another 2 in the teams that people have requested. That's 5 teams you can steal. What CTC's looking for is more interesting cores and lesser used mons [lesser used not meaning completely unviable Castform crap].
tl;dr: if the team's already here, why are you requesting it?

Hey professor basedlord, could you help me make a balanced team around parashuffler Zygarde? I know it isn't the best mon, but I remember old parashuffler dragonite's effectiveness, and it seems like it could check sand and support a bulkier offensivie team and was wondering if you could give me a team, or at least a core to use it with. I can see you're getting swamped, so if you don't have time that's totally cool, I just think it could be interesting. The set is
Zygarde @ Leftovers
Ability: Aura Break
EVs: 200 HP / 252 Def / 56 Spe
Impish Nature
- Glare
- Earthquake
- Dragon Tail
- Substitute

Thanks again man, and thanks for doing this, it's been really helpful to get a look at how tournament players make their teams.

EDIT: Just curious, on your heracross team why do you run roost over healing wish? It seems like the full recovery on one pokemon would be more helpful than keeping latias healthy, given Landorus Ferrothorn and Herracross's propensities to be worn down over the course of the match, but I may be wrong.

hi ctc, i would like a team/core which includes mega charizard x please, cause i really like it but haven't really made a good team which includes it. plus it's ranked s on the viability thread so it should be really strong. it can be in any playstyle which you find suits mega charizard x. oh, i would also want it to have a bulky dd set which maximizes attack and lets it outspeed greninja at +1.

if you can't, it's okay. thanks if you do make the team, cheers!

ps: if you could give explanations on what the evs you give each pokemon do, that would be cool :>

Hey CTC, it seems like you're getting overloaded with requests, but if you have time could you help this garbage player create a really well made balanced team with Mega Gardevoir? I am really bad at creating teams so it would be great if you could also have an explanation and talk about team building process I would really appreciate it ^^. Sorry for asking so much, but if its possible could you add either gengar/latias into the team? If these pokemon don't fit well into a balanced team with Mega Gardevoir then you don't have to, its just that they are my favorite mons and I was wondering if it was possible to create a really well made team with them. I am mostly just looking for a balanced team around Mega Gardevoir.

Thanks again for even taking your time to read this request and thanks for all the teams that you have already posted!

The problem is the first one is with Deo S while the others are birdspam... I mentioned I don't like using birdspam because if you don't rapid spin and get countered then u pretty much lost the game.
Oh wait I found some on the second page, I didn't notice them before :\

I've been trying to make bulky Empoleon work as a defogger not weak to SR with some punch to it, and I'd love to see a bulky attacker team built around Empoleon, specially defensive WoW Talonflame, and something else bulky that isn't terrified of the average Thundurus (Mega-Venu comes to mind).

Something like the following for Empoleon/Talonflame sets:

Empoleon @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 172 HP / 252 SpA / 84 Spe
Modest Nature
- Defog
- Hydro Pump/Scald
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power Grass

This is tentatively what I'm thinking of - Hydro Pump off of base 110 SpAtt hits surprisingly hard, and the typing is pretty good all around. 84 Speed beats uninvested base 70s, and the rest goes to HP to make this thing bulkier. That said... despite the typing being pretty good and its impressive bulk, it just fails against some fairly common threats (in particular the genies).

Talonflame @ Leftovers
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Bulk Up
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- Will-o-Wisp

I know, there's some obvious lack of synergy between these two (such as the fact that both members of this core don't like seeing genies, in particular Thundurus). But bulky Talonflame spreads WoW better than just about anything except for maybe Mew, and burn support helps Empoleon tank hits on the physical side surprisingly well. This is also a bulky core that does surprisingly well versus HO thanks to priority Brave Bird, and Talonflame appreciates Empoleon's defogging.

So I've always sort of toyed with the idea of combining it with something else with decent physical bulk that doesn't totally fear Thundurus. Mega-Venu's the obvious choice, although I feel like there's something else obvious I'm missing. I've toyed around with a core based around this, but never found anything I was happy with...

Hi CTC, I've got some old-school Pokémon that haven't seen much love in a while and I'd be thrilled to see if/how you could make them viable. Consider them separately, as I don't think they really work on the same team together.

Salamence @ Life Orb/Lum Berry
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 76 Atk /216 SAtk/228 Speed
Rash Nature (+SAtk, -SDef)
-Dragon Dance
-Outrage
-Fire Blast
-Draco Meteor

I used this set back in Gen IV and Gen V, where it had some good value as bluffing a Mixmence set, DD'ing up, and then beginning to sweep teams. It tended to work best late-game and Intimidate allows it to switch in much more easily. EVs are to put the most hurt into its Special Attacks (216 hits a bonus point), to outspeed positive speed base 150s after a boost (though naturally it can go lower if needs be, not sure how essential outspeeding MegaZam is) and also gives a small attack boost. It struggles against Heatran and fairies, so teammates have to deal with those (though I suppose EQ could be run over Fire Blast).

Suicune @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252HP/68SAtk/198 Speed
Timid Nature (+Speed, -Atk)
-Substitute
-Calm Mind
-Surf/Scald
-Ice Beam

This set was also a favourite of mine during DPP and BW/BW2. Less effective than Salamence in those generations, but I believe it could have more success in XY. EVs are to create 101 HP subs, outspeed max speed Heatran and below, and give a small boost in Special Attack. It trades the bulk of Crocune for the ease of setting up and some more offensive ability, though a faster or bulkier spread can be used if you see fit. This thing really hates specially defensive Pokemon and Unaware boosters like Clefable, so the team may have to deal with that.

Anyhow, I hope that's enough information regarding the sets. As for the team, Mence probably fits best in Bulky Offense or Balance, whereas this Suicune works well in Balance, Stall, and Semi-Stall. I'm really looking forward to seeing what you come up with. A teambuilding process and an explanation would also be welcome should you have the time.

LAST TIME ILL SAY THIS. IM NOT GONNA ALLOW SIMPLE REQUEST THREADS IN THIS FORUM. IF YOU WANT A RANDOM TEAM WITH BEARTIC THEN CONTACT HIM ON IRC OR SOMETHING. THIS THREAD WAS ALLOWED ON THE BASIS THAT DISCUSSION COMES OUT OF IT. IF YOURE GOING TO BE LAZY AND ASK CTC TO TAKE TIME TO MAKE YOU A TEAM, THE ABSOLUTE LEAST YOU COULD DO IS FREAKING CONTRIBUTE TO THE THREAD BY EXPLAINING YOUR CHOICES, LIKE FROGOHOLIC DID HERE.

So yeah, im going to start infracting people that dont read the rules. Have some subtance in your posts people, its not hard.
