Arena: The Border of a Heaven and a Hell
Field Type: Fire, Grass
Complexity: Intense
Format: Singles
Restrictions: No water source or grass source
Description:
You stand on the line between the peaceful, wonderful meadows of heaven and the torturous, burning pits of hell.. a devil and an angel onlook your battle, taking sides as you fight..
On a Pokemon's action, they may make their moves cost +4 EN to select a side of the borderline. While on either side of the borderline, the following effects occur... (format: MOVE [HELL] or MOVE [HEAVEN])
If you stand on the borderline, as you do in the beginning, the regenerating effects of heaven offset the burning of hell. Permanent Sun from the heat, however, for determining your attacks only.
If you stand in heaven, your feet would give thanks for the soft, grassy meadow you have given them. Permanent Grassy Terrain, except that the healing effect is increased to 3 DPA, and works on non-grounded Pokemon.
Additionally, all have been blessed in this afterlife here. All healing/HP Draining moves cost 2 less EN and restore 2 more HP.
Also, those who fight for heaven have been given the Blessing of an Angel. If only one player has the Blessing, their attacks deal one more damage, they gain the effects of Overcoat, and they gain the effects of a Shell Bell.
If you stand in hell, your feet are tortured, but force is put behind your attacks. All Pokemon except Fire-types take 1 DPA, but attacks are increased by 3 BAP, and Fire-type attacks by an additional two.
Additionally, those who fight for heaven have been given the Blessing of the Devil. If only one player has the Blessing, they gain the effects of their signature items and the effects of Mold Breaker.
Players can use items they do not own.
If both players stand in hell at the end of the round, the player whose active Pokemon is at less HP will have their Pokemon dragged over to heaven, instantly restoring 10 HP and EN, and resulting in that Pokemon being unable to switch sides the next round.
If both Pokemon stand in heaven at the end of the round, the player whose active Pokemon is at greater HP will have their Pokemon dragged over to hell, instantly losing 10 HP and EN, and resulting in that Pokemon being unable to switch sides the next round.
Players ordering first can switch sides as much as they want, but a player ordering second can only order their Pokemon to order first once per round.
