welcome to Smogon. for your information, you can use any pokemon in OU, UU or NU in OU. in UU you can use UU and NU, and in NU it's just NU. basically if it's a lower tier, it's just fine. also, the best way to get the hang of battling is to battle people better than you. ;) good luck!
