Challenge The Scramble Challange

Zoso, take a Starmie. If it has a -SpA or -Speed nature, then it learns BoltBeam as its only attacking moves, and must solo Lance. Otherwise, it can only have Surf and Return, and must solo Koga.

@pokemagnificent: Take a Seel, which can have either Ice Beam or Surf. If Ice Beam is chosen, it must have Water Pulse in the second slot, else, it must have Aurora Beam. The other moves are up to you.

@pokemagnificent:

Take a Pikachu named AC or DC. If you name it AC, it can only use special attacking moves. If you name it DC, it can never use special attacking moves. Either way, it must solo one gym of your choice, it can't evolve, and it can't use a Light Ball.

pokemagnificent take a zubat. It must always know a confusing, poisoning and flinching move.

Side Note: All updates bar the final will be done through my sig. I will post to let those interested know of the update.

Update to Emerald challenge in sig.

@ Its_A_Random, take a Lotad named Good&Ugly. It must have the Special Sweeper Smogon set (ability and nature are required, item is optional), and it must evolve to Ludicolo once it learns Rain Dance. You may swap Leech Seed for another move if you wish, and the typing on Hidden Power doesn't matter if you wish. Seeing as how it loves the rain, every time you encounter a rain weather effect, you must switch in Good&Ugly. It must solo Winona without utilizing it's Swift Swim ability!

@ Pokemagnificent, take a male Meowth that's caught in Route 5 (yes, Meowth is found in FireRed). Meowth thinks it's a member of Team Rocket, so it can never be used against any member of Team Rocket for any reason, including Giovanni in Viridian City. It must know Cut and Pay Day. If it's ability is Technician, those two moves are its only STAB moves it can learn. It cannot have a nickname (after all, Team Rocket's Meowth doesn't).

@ Zoso, I'm issuing you a Trainer challenge. You are Blue (name your character Blue), and your rival is Red (name your rival Red). You are a pretentious little prick who wants to show his rival what's what. To show how good you are, your battle mode must be set to Set and NOT Shift for the duration of the game. You are forbidden from buying healing items of any kind (full list is: Potion, Super Potion, Hyper Potion, Max Potion, Full Restore, Antidote, Parlyz Heal, Awakening, Burn Heal, Ice Heal, Full Heal, Lava Cookie, Revive, Fresh Water, Soda Pop, Lemonade, Moomoo Milk, Energy Root, Heal Powder, EnergyPowder, Revival Herb. Anything not listed is fair game).

I'll reserve a spot of Random, if there is any left. I'm going christmas shopping today though, so don't expect anything until later. I hope there is still a spot left, I LOVE creative challenges.

Aight, thanks everyone. But a question first, if the posted challenge doesn't list an evolution requirement, I can evolve however I want, right? Also, if I want to post updates somewhere, where do I do that?

Here's the challenge:

Zoso, you get a Pidgey. This Pidgey can only use STAB moves, and can't have more than 2 attacking moves. Call it Movepool.

Zoso. Take Rayne the Squirtle. ASAP you need to teach Rayne the move Rain Dance with TM 18. Anytime Rayne starts a battle he must make it Rain and keep it raining for as long as he is out. On top of that he must know a STAB move and a normal-type move. Rayne can't evolve into Wartortle until soloing a Gym Leader (besides Brock) and can't evolve into Blastoise until he solos two Gym Leader's Main Pokemon not including the Gym Leader he solos and Brock.

Zoso. Take a Mr. Mime it must set up dual screens in every boss battle, rival included.

@ Zoso, take a Clefairy it must have 3 attacking moves at all times and must have always have an item equipped. To evolve it must sucessfully defeat a gym leaders main pokemon with metronome.

@Zoso: Take a Machop. Because it cannot evolve past Machoke, its only restriction is that it must always know two Fighting-typed moves (when possible) and must solo a Gym Pokemon (that's right, any Pokemon in a Gym) to evolve. Name it Isolated.

Zoso, take a Starmie. If it has a -SpA or -Speed nature, then it learns BoltBeam as its only attacking moves, and must solo Lance. Otherwise, it can only have Surf and Return, and must solo Koga.

If there are no evolution requirements or restrictions, you may evolve however you see fit.

If you want to post updates, this thread works.

Sprocket, for your FireRed challenge to pokemgnificent involving a Meowth you specified a rstriction involving the ability. However, in 3rd gen Meowth`s only ability is Pickup, as Technician was introduced in 4th gen.

Whoops, I did not even know that. In that case, Pokemagnificent can disregard that restriction outright.

pokemagnificent gets Tassie the Doduo, who for obvious reasons, is unevolvable.

Because Tassie has two heads, Tassie likes to be repetitive, so if Tassie uses a move, or you use an item on it, you must perform the same action twice without fail. It may not know Tri Attack either. After winning your eighth badge, something bad happens! One of its heads dies! So after having the second head surgically removed, your Doduo becomes depressed, so on top of the current restrictions, it may not stay on the battle field for more than three turns in a row, & it must also give up a moveslot in honour of its second head.

Have fun. (And yes, I myself am somewhat offended by this as it's mocking my heritage...)

My Challenges...
Take a Electrike. You must catch the first Electrike you see (if you KO it, just find another one. You may not SR for natures or anything like that though). Your challenge is based on the first Wild Pokemon you see on Route 110 after catching the Electrike; no Fishing/Surfing.

If it is another Electrike, you get the King of Route 110 challenge. Electrike must never learn a move with base power above 70, but you can raise that limit to 100 if you get rid of one of your moveslots permanently. It must solo the Route 110 Brendan/May battle to show its dominance over Route 110. If you solo May on Route 110 on your first try, then the only other restriction is that it must solo three of Winona's Pokemon. If you do not solo May on your first try, Electrike must solo Wally in Victory Road. Don't fuck this up :).

If it is a Zigzagoon, you get a Lolcat Few Good Moves challenge. Manectric must not learn Thunderbolt, Flametrower, Overheat, Hidden Power, or Crunch. This one's pretty easy, hope you get a 'goon!

If it is a Plusle, you get the Consecutive Gym Leader Solo challenge Electrike must start soloing Gym Leaders immediately. It must be used against Wattson's first Pokemon and must keep soloing his Pokemon until it dies. You may not SR at all. If it successfully soloes Wattson, repeat the process at Flannery until it eventually dies in a Gym Battle. You may only use Potions equal to the number that the Gym Leader has. Your restrictions vary with how many Pokemon you soloed before dying for the first time.
If you soloed 0 consecutive Pokemon, then Manectric must solo Steven without items.
If you soloed at least one consecutive Pokemon, then Manectric must solo five Pokemon belonging to Elite Four members, only one can be Glacia's
If you soloed at lease three consecutive pokemon, then Manectric must solo Wallace, except for the Whiscash.
If you soloed at least six consecutive pokemon, then Manectric must solo three more Gym Leader pokemon.
If you soloed ten or more consecutive pokemon (yeah, right), then you must solo 2 E4 pokemon

If it is a Oddish, you get a Eightfold Path challenge then you must solo 8 Pokemon belonging to Gym Leaders, E4 members, of the Champion on your first try. If you have not soloed at least 2 by Drake, you may SR to complete the challenge.

If it is a Gulpin, you get a Gulpin RAAAAGE challenge. It must always have four attacking moves, the sum of the Base Powers of the moves may not exceed 200, and it must solo every Poison type you come across. Wild or otherwise. For every Poison type you fail to solo, the 200 limit drops by 10. You may not SR if you fuck up.

If it is a Wingull, you get a Level Boundary challenge. It must never be the highest, second highest, OR lowest level Pokemon on your team. Have it solo a Gym Leader for the lulz.

If it is a Minun, then congratulations! There are NO RESTRICTIONS on this Pokemon. There is a 2% chance of this happening ;)
Accepted.
Take Omega the frustrated Taillow. You have to catch the first male Taillow you come across. Growing up this Taillow was always the runt of his flock and always picked on by the stronger members. Thus, he is always out to prove himself and become the Alpha Taillow he believes he is. Until you came along his efforts proved futile, though, and lead to much frustration. Having a disdain for bird Pokemon of any kind Omega must solo every bird Pokemon you come across as well as soloing Winona (unless it conflicts with Lolcat's challenge) except for Skarmory. In order to evolve he must know and keep the move Frustration (which must be obtained ASAP and taught to Omega) and solo 15 trained bird Pokemon. Always trying to prove himself, he must also be the highest level Pokemon in your group (except when you catch him). For a little extra challenge, he must also have the highest Speed and rank in the top 3 Attack stats of any of your Pokemon because he strives to be the fastest and strongest. Finally, Omega needs to solo a E4 Pokemon using only the move Frustration.

Frustration is very intriguing to me since it seems a lot harder to keep a mad Pokemon than a happy Pokemon. Have fun.
Accepted.
Its_A_Random, take a Treecko and name it whatever you wish. Your Treecko is eager to impress you and faints every wild Pokemon it encounters with its attacks. However, it is quite hasty, and as such, always uses ineffective attacks in the first turn of a battle with trained Pokemon. If this is not possible, ie, Treecko has no ineffective moves against a Pokemon, it must switch out. Thereafter, it can use any of its other three moves, which are of different types, provided they at least hit the defending Pokemon for normal damage. Treecko must gain confidence by KO-ing 6 gym leader Pokemon and then, if its speed exceeds 50, it can evolve to Grovyle. To evolve to Sceptile, it must solo your rival's team every time you meet him/her (after Treecko has evolved) and defeat Winona's Altaria. All these restrictions are removed if Treecko/Grovyle can solo Winona while following these restrictions. Even then, it will prove your loyalty to you by soloing one Elite Four.

Summary:
  1. You must soft-reset for a Hasty Treecko
  2. Treecko must KO every wild Pokemon you encounter when it is your lead Poke
  3. All four slots must be attacking moves of different types
  4. If defending Pokemon belongs to a trainer, must hit it for 1/2 or 1/4x damage for first turn and then use an attack which does atleast 1x damage. If all its attacks are effective, then must switch out
  5. Must KO 6 gym leader Pokemon, and have speed > 50 to evolve to Grovyle
  6. Must KO rival's team every time (after its evolution) and solo Winona's Altaria to evolve to Sceptile
  7. If it solos Winona with these restrictions, then all restrictions are removed. However, it has to solo one Elite Four member even then (with restrictions).

Note that to KO Skarm with these restrictions, you need HP Fire, Water, Ice, Electric or Rock OR must use Rock Smash. Have fun.
Accepted, going to be hard...I'm going to ignore the must solo all wild Pokemon rule only to catch other Scramblemons.
Accepted.
All right, Random, here's your Slugma. Your Slugma (female) has been watching entirely too much Star Wars! She was born with a -Speed nature and has found her one true love: Jabba the Hutt! In its quest to win his heart, she must forget all others and concentrate only on him by learning Amnesia! She also wants to imitate his laziness by Yawning and Attract his attention. However, Jabba is also sneaky and deceitful, and your Slugma has a kind heart. She gets so annoyed that she Rolls Out into a wall to show her frustration. Upon evolving, however, she decides that Jabba is a lazy, good-for-nothing scumbag and wants revenge for the wasted days of her youth. She drops Yawn in favor of a more attack-oriented option but decides to keep Amnesia to forget about him and Rollout to express her frustration. (She's unsure about Attract.) She decides to take her rage out on the next Gym you fight after she evolves and hates everything in it! By the Elite Four, though, she has mellowed to the point where Amnesia is no long necessary, and she learns another attacking move instead.

Recap:
~Take a female Slugma with a -Spd nature.
~You must watch a TV ASAP after you catch it.
~Her final moveset as a Slugma must be Yawn, Attract, Amnesia, and Rollout.
~Upon evolving, she must forget Yawn immediately for an attacking move and MAY forget Attract, but must replace it with an attacking move if chosen.
~She must solo every Gym Trainer (except the Gym Leader) in the Gym immediately after she evolves (if Liza & Tate, she must participate in every double battle). She must solo every Pokemon owned by those Trainers that you see ever again (e.g., if one of the Trainers has a Tropius, she must solo every Tropius you see until you beat the E4).
~Upon reaching the E4, you must delete Amnesia for another attacking move. You must still keep Rollout.
~Ironically, her name is Leia.
Accepted.

Now awaiting on doomvendingmachine...

In other news, on my Heart Gold Scramble, I was EV Training Valence the Staryu, when it caught Pokerus, first time I've ever had a Pokemon infected...Meh heh heh, now to infect my stronghold games...

Update on my Leaf Green challenge. I just beat Misty, and have three pokemon. Rayne soloed misty by Mega Kicking Staryu and biting Starmie. This fulfilled his Wartortle requirement. I'm going to catch an Abra and go trade it for Mr. Mime as soon as I get cut.

Rayne: lvl 21 Wartortle
Movepool: lvl 20 Pidgeotto
Tinkerbell: lvl 12 Clefairy.

First post ever on Smogon, yeah!
Well i'd like a challenge for SoulSilver. I never even touched SoulSilver or HeartGold before, so it'll be fun.

Some rules and stuff:

-I want it to be challenging, and I mean challenging. You're talking to a guy who plays Kaizo Mario and harder stuff for FUN.

-Game is SoulSilver, no trades available.

-I'll do the whole game up to beating Red.

-This, quite obviously, is going to be my first challenge.

-No Level Caps or drudgery

-No "useless" Pokemon (as in the starting post)

-Creativity would be nice, but is not a must

-I have the right to reject challenges, but will only do that in very certain cases.

No further restrictions. Make it hard and possibly frustrating, but not impossible, kaythanks.

Welcome to Smogon!

Anyways, you get Rage the Totodile. Before the E4, it must know & keep the following moveset:
-Rage: Rage
-Intimidate: Scary Face/Screech
-Water Cross: Surf/Waterfall
-Power Bash: Ice Fang/Crunch/Thrash/Superpower

Totodile can evolve into Croconaw anytime, but to evolve into Feraligatr, it must solo 3 Gym Leader Main Pokemon (The Strongest Pokemon on the Gym Leader's Team). On Top of this, It must use Rage at least once in every trainer battle it appears in once you get Rage.

Have fun.

Thank you, I take it i'll just put my 6 Pokemon up here. First 6 people posting up challenges for me get to choose of course, unless I reject something.

Pokemon for now:

Randomly quoting on a new page for no apparent reason...As well as letting Krabb know what challenge I've given to him/her. Yeah, I know it isn't exactly challenging, but meh.

Also waiting on doomvendingmachine for his challenge to give to me...

@Krabb, welcome to Smogon! Take a Rattata named Zen. This little Rattata wants to fight and win. It constantly seeks to prove itself, not only as a strong fighter, but as a versatile fighter. Thus, it will put itself in the most difficult situations to prove, both to you and to itself, that it can handle anything. Zen must solo at least 1 Pokemon in EVERY gym, with restrictions.

Falkner: No STAB
Bugsy: No STAB
Whitney: No level up moves
Morty: No Dark type moves
Chuck: No STAB
Jasmine: No Dig
Pryce: No STAB or moves that Zen has used in battle before the match with Pryce
Clair: No moves with more then 60 base power

It also refuses to evolve into Raticate until after soloing one of Morty's Pokemon. After doing so well, Zen will finally have the confidence to stop giving itself such ridiculous challenges. However, its fighting spirit is still burning strong, and it must continue to solo at least 1 Pokemon from each E4 member, the Champion, each gym leader in Kanto, and ultimately Red.

Have fun! Also, out of curiosity, have you beat Kaizo?

Challenging eh? Not my forte but I`ll see what I can do.

Take a Swinub. It must solo Claire except for Kingdra who it must faint against.

After the death (fainting) of your Swinub your person is distraught at the loss until it discovers the cute and lovable Phanpy. Now your character loves this Phanpy but wants its ilk to be even stonger so you make it mate with your dead Swinub and lo and behold, you get a Phanpy with Ice Shard.

Now this Phanpy loves its toy so much it only wants to use it in battle as an attack. However once it helps to defeat the Kimono Girls it decides that it is eccentric and likes making its tusks turn poisonous.

Finally, it decides to solo Lance to avenge the death of its parents when it becomes content with itself and does whatever it pleases.

Recap:
-Catch a Swinub, solo Claire, excpet for Kingdra, where Swinub must die. Catch a Phanpy.
-Breed Ice Shard onto a baby Phanpy. Ice Shard is Phanpy`s only atttacking move until it soloes two Kimono Girls, where it can know evolve, and gains Poison Jab as a second offensive potion.
-Solo Lance. Upon defeating him, all restrictions are lifted.

@Krabb: In the spirit of the holidays, take a Delibird. It must keep Present forever. It may learn one other move for every twenty Trainer-owned Pokemon it solos with Present (it may never forget Present). At least one of those Pokemon must be owned by a Gym Leader (for every time it learns a new move). If you soft reset for a Jolly nature, change twenty to ten, but keep the one GL Poke the same. Name it SantaClaus if male and Mrs. Claus if female.

@Krabb Take Smitten the love-struck Mareep. Catch the first female Mareep with static that you come across. This Mareep believes in leading, not following like all her fellow Mareep so evolve her ASAP. When you caught Smitten she was immediately Attracted to Rage the Totodile. Her whole purpose in life changed to supporting Rage and trying to show him how cool she is through great acts of power. If she is involved in any double battles you must immediately send out Rage to accompany her and vice-versa. Her supporting movepool looks something like this:

-Attract
-Rain Dance
-Thunder Wave
-Thunder

You must ASAP teach and keep these four moves all the way up into Kanto. Once in Kanto she realizes it would never work out with her and Rage so the restrictions change to never showing up in double battles together and you must change three out of the four moves in her movepool.

Accepted, because I really like this. And yes, I have, both Kaizos, and other "impossible" romhacks and games and you know the like.

Take a Swinub. It must solo Claire except for Kingdra who it must faint against.

After the death (fainting) of your Swinub your person is distraught at the loss until it discovers the cute and lovable Phanpy. Now your character loves this Phanpy but wants its ilk to be even stonger so you make it mate with your dead Swinub and lo and behold, you get a Phanpy with Ice Shard.

...phew, that's tough. It contradicts Zen the Rattata on the soloing parts, and i'd really like to do Zen. Alter it and it's accepted. If you think an alteration would be too grave, you're reserved to do another suggestion instead.

@Krabb: In the spirit of the holidays, take a Delibird. It must keep Present forever. Pokemon for now:

-Rage the Totodile by Its_A_Random
-Zen the Rattata by auramaster
-Swinub/Phanpy by Texas Cloverleaf, if alteration not possible, reserved for another suggestion by Texas Cloverleaf
-SantaClaus the Delibird by Dummy007
-Smitten the Mareep by plurple
-Free

Pretty neat so far.

@krabb: take a Bellsprout. It may only know Acid for STAB, and it must always be the highest-leveled member of your team. Evolve to Weepinbell just before Olivine, and Victreebel at Victory Road. It must solo Jasmine's Steelix. NN "Gah!!!". (Yes, with the exclamation points and everything.)

Hey, you wanted crazy hard...
