Great job Gordon, that Lickitung is finally down. Be careful though, you are already a bit worn from the battle with George and your up against a poison type. Start of by using Leech Seed to help get some life back, then follow with a Psybeam and then an Earthpower. If at any point you are poisoned, replace the current action with Aromatherapy.

Calling back his valiant Lickitung, the intrepid adventurer Shadoo, decides on Amelie, a Nidoran, the picture of innocence. Glancing at her male opponent, she blushes, perhaps making up in her mind to hold back a little. Will the harsh reality of battle prove to be too much for her whimsical idealism to bear? Let's find out!

Amelie's whiskers twitch as she begins squeaking at an incredibly high pitch. The Supersonic sound play havoc with Gordon's senses who struggles to remember what it was he was supposed to do...ah yes! Leech Seed! Shaking off the confusion, he fires an acorn from his cannon which lands squarely on Amelie's head, much to her chagrin! Roots lodge into her skin sapping energy and healing the Embirch slightly.

Her poisonous glands working overtime, her hind spines start secreting venom. Making a quick dash at Gordon, she leaps and gives him jab in the arm with her Poison Tail. Despite the seeping poison, the pain was dulled somewhat by the Reflect and Amelie's personal inhibitions. Channeling his mental energies into his arm cannons, Gordon fires a powerful Psybeam at point blank range, hitting Amelie squarely between the eyes.

Agitated by her less than effective attempts at hurting her opponent so far, Amelie begins chirping noisily before spraying a Venomous concoction from between her teeth, giving Gordon's nervous system a mild Shock. Shaking it off, he plunges one of his cannons into the ground and a dull *THUNK* is heard just as the Earth under Amelie's feet explodes in a dramatic display of Power. The Nidoran is flung back a few feet, but quickly picks herself up off the floor, sure the next round will go better than the first. The acorn delivers another slightly painful twinge.

Well, this is just going swimmingly... Amélie, Disable that Earth Power, then go for another Poison Tail. Try and knock Gordon into one of the pillars. Then go for another Venom Shock.

Wanting to prevent future abuse, Amelie locks eyes with Gordon. Her little heart palpitating a little faster than before, she brushes aside those thoughts and works on Disabling Earth Power. Gordon, demonstrating an active aversion to pain, throws up another Reflective barrier.

Kicking up dust, Amelie rams Gordon with her hiney with the intent of throwing him into a pillar. However her Poison Tail manages to puncture his skin injecting a drop of venom. Throwing her off, Gordon winces as he feels the poison getting to work on his lungs...edit: now in an alternate and more accurate dimension:
Clutching his chest (as much as one can with arm cannons), Gordon inhales confidently, as he breathes in his own Aromatherapy.
The poison begins to dissipate and everyone on the battle field feels a little mellower. Until they realize the scent has attracted Unown 'B'! The Unown swarm in an angry formation hitting Amelie with a base 4 Ghost-type Hidden Power and Gordon with a base 5 Rock-type Hidden Power before disappearing again!



A little too late to maximize damage, Amelie spits her Venom Shock at the wound causing the Embirch to seize up. Happy to repay for the abuse, Gordon fires a searing Flamethrower at Amelie, with his extra rage at an incompetent and unfair ref fueling a Critical Hit!


The acorn drops off of Amelie's head, a little scorched, and onto the ground, having gathered enough nutrients to begin life as a little sapling. Good luck in this dark, waterless tomb, tree!

Hold the phone, I thought Hidden Power could be any type but normal. I also thought that I commanded Gordon to replace Growth with Aromatherapy if he got poisoned, instead of using Growth then Aromatherapy.

Use Poison Tail on the ground to launch yourself into the air and dodge Psybeam, then blast Gordon from above with a Venom Shock. If we're still in it, take advantage of his breather with another Venom Shock.

Amelie, not feeling very confident that her trainer is double guessing himself, and wishing instead he'd have asked her to take advantage of her powerful leg muscles to Kick off the ground, attempts to...position her Poison Tail, in such a way that she may bounce high into the air. As would have been expected, she merely tumbles off to the side, rolling behind a pillar, but not before having taken a glancing hit from Gordon's Psybeam.

Readying his Flamethrower, Gordon makes his way to the pillar his embarrassed rival is hiding behind. Amelie is nowhere to be found! A quick chirp from behind him signals the Embirch to turn around...just in time to get a face full of Venom Shock! Amelie can't take the time to cheer however as the sudden shock released Gordon's violent flames, scorching her terribly.

On her last legs, the little Nidoran scrambles to her feet, spitting up another Venom Shock, this time being met with no resistance as Gordon, himself desperately low on energy, takes the time to catch his breath.

... Wow, I really do suck, don't I. That would've made more sense... GAH. Well, Amélie, we've pushed this as far as we can, and I intend to go out with a bang. And by that, I mean, kicking off the ground, and spamming Venom Shock.

Both remaining Pokemon, battered and winded, compose themselves, ready to give it their all in what may be the final round.

Gordon, ablaze with a spitting fire, rolls at Amelie with surprising speed. With a quick *thump* of her feet, she Double Kicks into the air, narrowly missing Flame Wheel.

Reflexes particularly sharp from the surge of adrenaline, Amelie manages to spit another Venom Shock at her attacker before she even hits the ground. The flames, not yet diminished, manages to dissipate some of the fluid, but Gordon still takes a good bit of damage. Not missing a beat, he turns to fire another mentally charged Psybeam at Amelie, hitting her right between the eyes.

For a moment, Amelie looks silly with her face frozen in a cross-eyed grimace. Blinking suddenly, a small smile crosses her face and she finally gives in to the fatigue. Gordon, for his part, sits, his scales steaming somewhat. Proud of toppling two foes, he thinks to acknowledge the directing commands of his trainer, but refrains, preferring to gloat in his victory of endurance.

My first battle grants me my first victory. Great job Gordon, you really came through in the end. One of Gordon's 2 KO counters will be transfered to his Evolution Counters and the other to his Move Counters. I will save the 2 Trainer Counters for now. I also scour the ruins and manage to find Libra's missing tooth and put it in my pocket.
