Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Sorry this took longer than I said it would, I was only supposed to work till 1 but I was asked to work till 5, and those extra 4 hours were the hours I was planning to use for this (among other things), and since then I've been busy helping people with math and hanging out with friends. Also, I've been told on IRC that Quick Attack and it's fellow priority moves can no longer be used evasively. I decided to just make it a regular Quick Attack rather than making it fail entirely, but of course it doesn't make much of a difference seeing as Rotom's a ghost...
Trying a new tactic to get through Nickleback's Light Screen, Electra fired a Thunderbolt at the Rotom, but yet again it glanced off the screen, doing pitiful damage. Sick of Electra's clones, Nickleback unleashed a Shock Wave, which homed in and hit the right target, and with a critical hit to boot! While it healed Electra thanks to her Volt Absorb, the clones disappeared nonetheless, and since Electra had been at full health prior to the attack the healing didn't even matter!
While her trainer had ordered an evasive Quick Attack, Electra wasn't entirely sure how to do so, so she went for a regular Quick Attack instead! Unfortunately, she flew right through the Ghost-typed Rotom, who quickly nailed her with a Toxic! Frustrated, she retaliated with a Shadow Ball, and hit a weak point, breaking through the screen temporarily with a critical hit! To make matters worse for Nickleback, some of the shadowy energy continued to afflict him, lowering his Special Defense! However, he wasn't out yet, and he took advantage of Electra being poisoned to land a powerful Hex attack!
As the two Pokemon faced off, Nickleback struggled to stay in the air. Hoping to capitalize on the shadowy energy afflicting the Rotom, Electra fired a Shadow Ball at him, but the barrier of light held true this time, taking the brunt of the blow! Nickleback retaliated with a powerful Hex, but the extra energy required to use the move consecutively was too much, and the poor little guy collapsed!
Action 1:
Electra used Shadow Ball -> (8[BP] - 5[Light Screen]) * 1.5[SE] + 1.5[Stat Dif.] = 6 damage, 6 + 4[Consecutive move use] = 10 energy, -2 HP from Toxic Poison
Nickleback used Hex -> 10[BP] + 3[STAB] = 13 damage, 6 + 4[Consecutive move use] = 10 energy, Nickleback KOed due to lack of energy
"Venser should probably be more careful with his Pokemon's energy, but so far he still seems to have the advantage. Can Galladiator pull ahead somehow?" Brandon pondered as Venser recalled his Rotom and prepared to send out his next Pokemon.
Venser wasted no time in replacing his Rotom with a new ghost, the massive Troll, a Golurk! Electra welcomed the newcomer to the field with a Hidden Power Ice, but the Light Screen from before lessened the blow! However, afterwards it faded away, with no power left to further protect Venser's team! Not concerned with the lack of protection, Troll rushed forward and hit the Jolteon hard with a Dynamicpunch! The impact was so fierce that it inflicted intense confusion on Electra!
Taking advantage of the lack of Light Screen, Electra shook her head clear temporarily and fired off a Shadow Ball at the Golurk, hurting it a fair bit more now that it no longer had the protection from Light Screen! However, it still took the blow fairly well, and retaliated with a powerful Earthquake! The blow left Electra barely able to stand, and while she tried to retaliate with another Hidden Power Ice, her confusion struck and she stumbled and fell, hitting herself in confusion! Seeing his chance, Troll struck the final blow with another Earthquake, knocking out Electra!
Down to his last Pokemon, Galladiator released his Treecko, Ness, into the arena! Acting quickly, Ness hit Troll with a Leech Seed, but Troll made no effort to stop it as he prepared for a massive Focus Punch! The blow struck a weak point, scoring a critical hit and sending the Treecko flying back! Looking to regain some health after that massive assault, Ness used a Giga Drain, and the red beam of energy did some damage to Troll before returning to Ness, healing him a bit. The Golurk was unperturbed, however, and struck back with a Dynamicpunch! The blow was powerful enough to addle Ness's brain, inflicting him with intense confusion, but he hung on and summoned a massive Leaf Storm, dealing loads of damage to Troll! Troll retaliated with a Shadow Punch, but as the Leech Seed continued to sap his health it seemed like Ness had a slight advantage. Perhaps he could pull off an upset?
Brandon and Flamestrike watched as the Pokemon faced each other yet again, both looking worse for wear. Ness tried to start off the round with a Giga Drain to recover some more HP to help survive the round, but his confusion struck and he hit himself in confusion! Troll used the chance to land another powerful Shadow Punch on the poor little Treecko, who staggered, but barely managed to stay standing as the Leech Seed restored a bit more HP to him. Now desperate to stay alive, Ness tried to Pursuit the giant robotic ghost, but yet again he hit himself in confusion, and the extra damage from it was just enough so that a second Shadow Punch from the Golurk was enough to finish it off!
Action 1:
Ness hit self in confusion -> 4[BP] + 1.5[Stat Dif.] = 5.5, rounded to 6 damage, 3 energy, -1 to confusion counter (1 action left)
Troll used Shadow Punch -> 6[BP] + 3[STAB] + 7[Stat Dif.] + 2[Iron Fist] = 18 damage, 3 + 4[Consecutive move use] = 7 energy, -3 HP due to Leech Seed, Ness healed for 3 HP
Action 2:
Ness hit self in confusion -> 4[BP] + 1.5[Stat Dif.] = 5.5, rounded to 6 damage, 3 energy, snaps out of confusion
Troll used Shadow Punch -> 6[BP] + 3[STAB] + 7[Stat Dif.] + 2[Iron Fist] = 18 damage, 3 + 8[Consecutive move use] = 11 energy, Ness is KOed
Yeah, confusion hax kinda gayed both of you there, seeing as Ness doesn't get the KO and Syclar doesn't get any counters. Sorry :(
