Blastoise HP: 78 Attack: 83 Defense: 100 Special Attack: 85 Special Defense: 105 Speed: 78 Torrent: When HP is below 1/3rd, Water’s power increases to 1.5 times. Hidden Ability: Rain Dish: If Heavy Rain weather is in effect, recovers 1/16th max Hit Points at the end of the turn. (Double) Bulky Fake Out Blastoise @ Wacan Berry Calm Torrent/Rain Dish 196 Speed, 252 HP, 60 Special Defense Fake Out Scald Ice Beam Protect Blastoise is one of the few bulky Fake Out users, other than Scrafty. The difference in between Scrafty and Blastoise is that Blastoise has the ability to burn physical attacking threats with Scald, and tank them. Fake Out is needed, as that is the only reason to use it over other Scald users, such as Milotic who has more bulk and Special Attack. Ice Beam provides coverage against Dragon and Grass types, which Scald doesn't hit. Protect is needed for predictions and burn stalling. The item allows Blastoise to easily survive Electric attacks from things like Zapdos and Eelektross. The ability choice only matters if running a Rain team, but other Rain Fake Out users like Toxicroak and Ludicolo generally are better. 196 Speed EVs allows Blastoise to out speed neutral natured, max speed Hitmontop by one speed point. The rest are put into HP and Special Defense, and physical attacks Blastoise can easily shrug off.

Does Blastoise have anything over Ludicolo for a Fake Out user? It seems almost entirely outclassed.

Drinking more Coca-Cola than all the polar bears combined.

Just curious, would Blastoise be able to survive a Thunderbolt from Zapdos/etc. anyway with those EVs? Because if it does survive, that means it would be a 2HKO either way.
Also, before anybody suggests Water Spout, I don't think it's compatible with Fake Out.

I think it can. It is rediculously bulky.
EDIT: Refering to being 2HKOed by Thunderbolt from Zapdos. With Wacan, probably even 3HKO'd. Too lazy to calc though...

I see. Does anyone have an EV spread to be 3HKO'd? I'm on a phone right now.

252/252 Calm Blastoise is the best bet, but can be 2hkoed by 252 Non SpA+ Zapdos's Thunderbolt, even with Wacan equipped
Here's the close non 252/252 I could find: 236hp/228def Calm 177 Atk vs 169 Def & 184 HP (95 Base Power): 57 - 67 (30.98% - 36.41%) Avg = 33.15% 252EV Non SpA+ Zapdos's Thunderbolt vs. Wacan 236/228 Calm Blastoise 177 Atk vs 169 Def & 184 HP (95 Base Power): 114 - 134 (61.96% - 72.83%) Avg = 66.30% 252EV Non SpA+ Zapdos's Thunderbolt vs. 236/228 Calm Blastoise If Zapdos hits average damage, then Blastoise will live with about ~2hp left. That's the best 3hko ev spread I can make without making the spread 252/252

Fake Out is a staple move in Doubles play, as immobilizing the opponent for a turn is immeasurably useful. Further explanation on the benefits of the move in Doubles can be found here.

Yeah probably the beat bet is to use Wacan and kill with partner.
