Welcome to the Indigo Plateau Conference. This tournament is an amalgamation of several current official tournaments, as well as taking ideas from the anime. There are also no signups for this tournament, as players can just join in on the first round if they want to. It is a standard BW OU tournament. The rules for BW OU are shown in the hide tag below.
In the first round, competitors must tackle 8 of the selected 9 Gym Leaders. These are well skilled battlers who are chosen to make things hard for the competitors. There are 9 so that the Gym Leaders can participate themselves, by attempting to gather the other 8.
The standard best-of-one OU rules apply, and a player must aim to collect 8 badges whilst only losing a maximum of one match. Losing more than one match means that the player is no longer able to challenge any Gym Leaders (i.e. their badge collection is fixed).
The four players with the most badges will automatically qualify for the Finalist Round. If two players have the same number of badges but one achieved it with less losses, then that player will take precedence. The next 8 best ranked players will compete over the final 4 spots in the Preliminary Round.
In this round, you will attempt to defeat 8 of the 9 following users:
You may also be able to find these players online at #ipc
Information for the next rounds can be found in the hide tag below.
- Sleep Clause: A player cannot put two or more different opposing Pokémon to sleep using attacks that induce sleep to opposing pokémon.
- Species Clause: A player cannot have two of the same pokémon on their team. For example, a player cannot have two Koffing on his or her team.
- Wifi Clause: Players must turn on the Team Preview feature where players can view the opposing team's Pokémon and choose their lead Pokémon.
- Evasion Clause*: A player cannot use the moves Double Team or Minimize in their Pokémon's movesets, and cannot give their Pokémon the hold items BrightPowder or Lax Incense.
- OHKO Clause*: Players cannot use Horn Drill, Guillotine, Sheer Cold, or Fissure in any of their Pokémon's movesets.
- Timer Clause*: If a player exhausts the timer, he/she loses.
- Uber Clause*: Pokémon that are in the Uber Tier are not allowed to be used. The tier list can be found here. In addition, the following restrictions on abilities apply:
- Players cannot use the ability Moody on any of their Pokémon.
- Players cannot have a Pokémon with the ability Drizzle and a Pokémon with the ability Swift Swim on the same team.

II. Round Two (Preliminary Round)
In the Preliminary Round, the players ranked 5th to 12th will be put into two groups: Black and White. Players in each group must then compete against the others in the said group. The top two players in each group will advance to the Finalist Round. Players must also post battle scores, for these will be used to determine the top player in the case of a tie of win records. If there is still a draw, then there will be a playoff in OU.
III. Round Three to Five (Finalist Rounds)
The Finalist Rounds are essentially the playoffs of the tournament, where players face off through a best of three in BW OU. The top 4 from the Gym Round and the top 4 from the Preliminary Round will be seeded so that they do not immediately face each other; however, the actual potential matchups will be randomized. There are 3 rounds of knockout battles, the last of which will decide the winner of the Conference.

The deadline for this round is three weeks today, on the 29th January 2012, at 23:59 GMT.
edit: Something has come up, I have to go and won't be online to post r2 - I will probably post it in around 8 hours after deadline if I get the chance (if not it'll definitely be up in about 18 hours after). Feel free to keep challenging until you see the second round posted.
Please be sure to post all of your results.
