Showdown! Randbats Tournament! [Round 1]

Tournament Rules | Approved by Earthworm  Logo from Pokemon Showdown's Facebook Page Showdown Announcement Thread Pokemon Showdown Simulator Introduction Welcome to the Pokemon Showdown! Randbats tournament. This will be a 64-man tournament but if the demand is enough it very well could be raised to 96 or even 128 (maybe even 256, who knows?). As the name implies, all battles will be conducted on the Pokemon Showdown Simulator (linked above). The tournament's format will consist of a best-of-three, where the winner of two games advances to the next round. Background For those who have not yet found out, Smogon will be officially moving to the Showdown simulator in the near future and will be conducting all Fifth Gen activities there for the forseeable future. Past Generations will be coming at a later time. RandBats are in a similar vein to Challenge Cup on PO, however RandBats is geared toward more competitive sets and movepools whereas CC is primarily for fun and can pack some extremely odd movepools. Randbats effectively removes the bulk of potentially bad movesets and hold items and gears every Pokemon to carry their own weight. Randbats also incorporates CAP created Pokemon and unique custom-made moves like Magikarp's Revenge, although these occur much more rarely when battling. Randbats are also fully updated with the latest releases of BW2 (Pokemon, Items, Moves) so expect to see Kyurem-B Outraging its way through this tournament. It's best for me to recommend that everyone planning to participate in this tournament to connect to Pokemon Showdown and get a good feel for how Randbats works (and the server in general). It's also best to register your name by winning one ladder battle so that no one else can steal your name later on. Pokemon Showdown also has a link in your browser bar to your battle, which can be used to share replays with friends and help with teambuilding. How to Stay In Contact and Operate Pokemon Showdown For this tournament you must have good contact with your opponent(s). The server does not list names in alphabetical order and finding your opponent may be a pain when you're only trying to communicate on Showdown. Before both you and your opponent log on please share the usernames you are using via Forum PM or IRC so you at least know who you're looking for. Here's a little Step-by-Step guide on how to use Showdown's User Interface:
Use Ctrl+F to find your opponent
Click on their username to bring up the User Prompt
Each button opens up a new window below the prompt
You will recieve a challenge prompt when challenged
Press Accept and you are on your way
