Black Sulfur Caldera

A deep and blackened pit that once erupted in a massive fiery explosion many hundreds of years ago. Black Sulfur Caldera and the surrounding terrains are now mostly barren, with torched and odorous burns across all of its face. Nothing lives within miles of the area, not even Fire-type Pokemon, as the land is so inhospitable that very little can sustain life above ground and the smokes that come from the cracks of the surface make sure anything around don't stay for long, or at least makes sure their concious bodies don't.

At the base of the caldera, however, there exists a small pit that recently opened up due to seismic activity. Some Pokemon trainers have ventured into the pit to explore, only to return with their whole Pokemon team fainted and them babbling nonsense about the magma demon therein. Intrigued, you prepare your Pokemon and decide to explore it yourself. Hopefully you'll find yourself better prepared than those others before you.

As you two look into the entrance of the dark maze, you consider once again i this is all worth it, with litte ight to be found, you trample as you walk into this place, hearing the last notes of the outside world as you enter what might be your most dangerous adventure to date.

You may retreat now, but if you decide to go on, you should prepare your mons with whatever they'll need to get through this dungeon.

Good morning, you bastards!

Well, it's taken us this long to hike up this volcano. Let's see what's in store for us, shall we?

Kurage, take the Black Sludge. Maila, have the Leftovers. Meikun, the Expert Belt is all yours!

As you two go into the hole, you use Astraea's light to guide yourself through the difficut paths that keep emerging from the darkness, meeting without warning against dead ends and crossroads, the shining of Starmie awakens some of the creatures that here nest, but nothing important happens to any of the membes of your team.

But the darkness takes it's toll as the halls become narrower and the distance between them caues the teams to distance themselves, being isolated from one another and being an easier prey to the little creatures that protect this place. One rock slide is all that it takes or both of you to be trapped in diferent sides of the cave, it seems the cave didn't want this team-up to succeed, and so both of you take separate roads into your own journeys...

The Rocks don't manage to hurt your team, but from the dark appear the ittle critters that cause the avaanche, one weird looking duckmon with another even more odd looking lizardmon, loorking for the shadows and ready to attack on a moments notice

Rocks are everywhere, and the darkness seems all-consuming. There is a faint glow about the arena that allows your Pokemon to almost see, but at the same time, they just can't aim properly in this blackness. There is no water anywhere nearby, but nothing about the arena seems to hinder you in any other way. Your team awaits for your orders...

  • Arena Type: Cave

  • No water source present.

  • One (1) stage accuracy drop for Pokemon without Rock, Ground, or Dark typing that is maintained at the end of each round.

From the rocks appear two little creatures, you can baely see them under the diminished light, more now that your starly friend is on the other side of two tons of rocks, but the little you can see is pretty endearing, their cuteness is only overpowered by their thoughness, the ground shakes under their little weight, never a good sign, but nothing your team is afraid of dealing with.

It's a good thing that the synchro might not work out as well as they want to.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::.

Not losing a single second Atheno calls for Astraea to turn the lights on, and she follows, lighting up and enabling it's most recent ability in order for it's team to see what they're up against in a clearer light, and just like they though, two little lackeys are the ones responsible for their resent setback. They seem angry at you for stepping into their house, they have probably had a hard time with all the other trainers coming into their home.

Both Launch themselves against your team, eager to crush you under the power of their little paws, but Limos takes it upn himself to block them and protect the team, which with a size like that, well it's a pretty easy task, not so much the one of taking those powerful hits as even those little critters hit hard. Astraea tries to slow down both of them to help out Limos, she fires an electric bolt that disrupt little Magby while Poseidon takes a lot more offensive approach and drowns Larvitar with a powerful torrent of muddy water, launching him back into the cave.

With both oes seamengly incapacitaded Poseidon takes a little rest in order to recover from the last attack, while Limos snores and recovers some heath for himself, tough this is far from over as Magby flexes his muscles, and quickly and precisely strikes against the giant bear confusing him a bit and doing some pretty nice damage, even though he continues to sleep a if not a light breeze had happened. Larvitar tries to follow up with another crash, but this time Astraea is ready to protect it's mate, firering a round of salt water in quick sucession, going beneath it's plates and making those previous wounds hurt a hundread times more, Larvitar follows to it's knees and starts crying, Magby conforts the rock skin pokemon, using the distraction of a confused snorlax in order to get his friend back into safety.

You manage to get snorlax back into control as he continues to sleep peacefully, well you better wait until he's back together, and see who's back, Magby, now alone it seems, but with even a wish for revenge bigger than ever before, awaiting for your next more with an uncomfortable grin on it's face

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::.

With starmie's light having been extinguished by the recent fall your eyes try to accomodate to the new light, or more accuratey the total lack of one, struggling to find whatever is that caused your teams to go their separate ways, well, it'd gonna be an interesting race to find out who get there first.

Kurage taints the whole cave with a bloody red light, trying to help you find something. Anything. You start looking into the rocks for the two creatures you managed to take a glimpse off before the ight went out, but this isn't the best illumination, and so, you can't seem to find any clue of them. That is until they jump you over, you manage to evade their attack, but they seem to approach or another round. Kurage is fast to act, and shoting multiple streams of water to both foes, larvitar manages to dodge the attack, but sadly Aron is too slow to do so, and is hit by the spiraling brown water. Aron seems to have caught something in his eye, oh! the little thing catch some of the mud result of the combination of the streams and the dirt on the walls of the cave, there must be a huge pain to take that under that little hockey mask. Maila doesn't like to be left behind, and so she jumps into the field ready to kick some, but her ghost instict calls her, and so she answers with a malicious look at the steel critter. Tormenting him with painful reminders of how weak he, how much of a coward while his frined there takes care of the bussiness. Aron is enraged, and tries to tackle the taunting foe, which proves unsuccesful given the nature of it, but which our enraged baby can't seem to understand.

Larvitar meanwhile tries to shake the ground, probably in an attemp to bury us all, but he knows Aron will be damaged a lot by the attack, so taking a moment away from the battle he approaches his pal and talks some sense into him, calling him unto his duty as a rocky warrior and making him wake from it's mini-outrage. Aro and Larvitar manage to get themselves together, and so they break the ground around themselves, summoning huge chunks of rocks all three intruders are impaled with. Meikun tries to stop this with one trick of his, scalding Larvitar with a bucket of boiing water, where this came from is anyone's guess, but it's clear it enraged Larvitar, which now sufers from some severe burns. Not that it's gonna make him fight any less, and in fact it seems he's having none of that, only serving to enrage him, this little fellow sure has some guts.

Kurage is hurt, but he is not defeated, and starts draining unto the skin rock pokemon, doing a good amount of damage, at least enough to warrant the energy loss, it's not making him any friendlier though as he prepares to shake up the cave once again, caling aron to hep him out he awaits for his friend to start another round of non-property damages. Unfortunately (or fortunately if you're with Engi) Maila gives one very distinguis ook at Aron, making him fall for the sme rick once, and making him tackle the unfriendy ghost into oblivion. Or boremon which is what seems to be happening once she gets tired of him going though her translucent skin anddecides to relax to recharge a bit. But Larvitar is not in the mood to argue with his friend, and with all the hurt in it's hearth he unleashes a second Earthquake, one that is even worst than the last, one that shakes the field and makes all the pokeon fall to their knees, unbalanced, and unabe to focus, your team can't even finish their turns, and with little time to reagroup they prepare to go as both oes remain on the field. This battle has just started.

I think Starmie should have 86 Energy, unless I'm counting that incorrectly. And I'm also pretty sure that Rest should have stopped confusion A2, meaning I'd get some nice damage on Magby. So I might wait to order so I don't accidentally overcount something.

Not looking to lose more time with a little critter such as this you throw a quick ball at the wild Magby, he tries to dodge the ball but it's just to fast for him and so ends up inside. One. Magby tries to release itsef, struggling to come out, the Quick Ball rolling lightly in the ground, trying to maintain balance and keep the young mon within. Two. As Magby intents in vain to scape he can feel how his energy goes away, and with it his chances to go back home. Three. Congratulations, your Quick Ball captured a new pokemon, how will you name your new friend? and more importantly, what will you do with him?

Kurage is ready to direct it's guns against Larvitar, but as he sets up it's shields up in order to survive he redirects against a shining aron and fires a small torrent against the Iron Turtle, doing some damage and drenching the litte guy, thankfully there's not a lot o electricity in here so it shouldn't become too big of a problem.

Maila is done with the games, and taking adventage of it's energy excedent she's carrying and decides to recover some of his precios health by draining it al from Aron, with Aron trying to keep on enduring the attack, absorbing al the energy of the impact and redirecting the damage, as Maila seems confident of having done her part, happy for the hp she got back, she doesn't even notices that Aron starts diminishing it's glow. Only or him to focus a of it in the silver orb that appears in from o him, the size twice as big as the original mon, and directed against an unsuspected Maila, hurting her beyond everything she could have recovered and definitely showing Larvitar he can be tough too.

Larvitar et's himsef go, embraced into tears as his friend shows he can do hatever he wants and that he' not needed more to protect him, Aron is happy for the confidence vote and jumps joyfully. But the battle is far from over and Kurage, taking adventage of the moment, drains all that he can out of Larvitar, making sure to suck eneough for him to go on. Meikun continues to aid heling him with a light pink ray of energy, which refills Kurage's to amost perfection, just as Larvitar falls down with spirals for eyes, exhausted from all the fighting. Meikun then proceds to take it easy as she rests into the ground of the cave.

ARON IS PISSED! Not only his friend have been shot down just seconds after such a heathwarming moment, but his fall and the events that followed shorty completely undermined all the effort and ost hp they just used to make sure they wouldn't pass, this is so unfair to him, and so, decides to take everything in, and prepares to charge against that who finished his friend, and starts roamming towards it. Maila tries to block it's way, loooking at him in a specially frightening way, making him think twice about what he's doing, but never stopping to do anything, he manages to get past her as if she wan't even there, and smacks Kurage with it's head with all the strenght he can, launhing him against the tunnel's wall and making her lose a ton of health in the process. Aron won't stop until everybody is down to it's knees...

Your Pokemon charge through the mist and smoke and, without navigation, accidentally get in the way of much of the steam and smoke! Each Pokemon suffers from this and is burned by the ordeal, but at least you navigated the geysers successfully and have reached the other side. This could have ended better, but it certainly could have been worse, and thus you continue onward without giving this too much further thought.

Even the state of two o your pokemon doesn't seem to stop your team as you continue to advance through the cave, when suddenly you come upon a wide, circular room, and find that the texture of the very floor seems to have changed as you walk onto it. The floor is covered in slightly grainy sand, and looks eerily ominous. You can tell that something bad is going to happen here, though you honestly don't know what. There are few options available to you. You can either walk over the sand to the other side, or you can attempt to navigate the boulders on the westward side of the room where the sand doesn't appear to be. What do you do?

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
A) Walk across the sand.

As you reach the central part of the sand, a slight breeze begins to blow in an oddly circular fashion around you. Only then do you realize the error of your decision to charge headlong into the middle of this arena. A gigantic whirlwind of sand erupts from the base of the room and latches onto the Pokemon on your team with the lowest HP, sending it tumbling inside the cyclones toward the other side of the arena where it can be engaged safely. Your other Pokemon leap back and find their appendages getting dragged into the sand to restrict them from reaching their ally. Just then, a sandstorm maliciously whips up about you, and an audible yawn comes from the epicenter toward your trapped Pokemon. Feeling drowsy, your Pokemon stands face to face with what finally is revealed to you as a Hippowdon, which your Pokemon now finally has a chance to react to.

You ignore the crevice and continue on your way. Whatever is down there is surely too unnecessary for your success in this pursuit. You must keep your eyes on the goal, and so press on with your team on your heels.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
A) Walk across the sand.
B) Navigate the boulders.

Astraea tries to be the one to beat the impressive Hippo, appraching carefuly to it, but in a an impresive show of bravery, o erhaps, of the stupidity of youth, Magby jumps head first into the giant enemy, who immediatly traps him into a Sand Tomb at the same time as he summons a powerful sandstorm, all done in order to keep unexpected visitors from getting into the middle of it's next meal.

Hippowdown traps him, and after seeing how easy of an effort this presented he yawns as he expected a more powerful foe if these had maaged to get to his house in one piece, though now it looked more like just plain ol' good luck to him. Hippowdown digs himself deep underneat the sand. Magby tries to roast him, but it's all for nothing as the sand covers him , protecting him from the burn, both from the main attack an from the potential one as he hits the litte duck from beneath the earth, doing a good amount of damage, and knocking him unconcious temporarily.

Seeing how his opponent is potentially knocked out for good Hippowdon starts resting himself, that was easier than expected, and so he recovers a little energy. Though unaware to him Magby isn't out of the picture yet, with him waking up and ready to do some damage, Magby fires some low powered fames that can't even penetrate the big sand shield that Hippo created around itself, which mean the only thing he manages is to cut short it's little nap, though it's still a little more that a nuance as all you have to do is rose and smash the ground for it to be buried in the sand for anyone to find, though with the sand tomb having been dissipated the rest o the team is free to join their allen pal, and they won't be as easy to take down

You feel as though you've made a good decision, as nothing of note happens to your team as you progress through the boulders. They are difficult to navigate, but eventually you get through to the other side, completely bypassing the ominous sand pit in the middle of the room. Hopefully, now it will be just a fleeting memory as you delve deeper into the darkness of the labyrinth.

You manage to get yourself to a chamber as bright as day, heat stifling, but not to the level of being painful.. Yet. The sheer heat of the arena causes the environment to be as if the sun was shining brightly, even underground. Pokemon seem to exist within the lava and will erupt forth to assist your enemies through some mechanism you don't quite understand. Not that you have any time to, since as soon as you manage to get yourself a little bit to appreciate the beautiful scene you're looking a boulder just a few feet away stars moving without anything even touching it.

Apparently a wild Gigalith has been staying here, undisrupted unti you apparently awaked it, if that wasn't enough from one of the secondary halls something seems to be coming along, a pissed looking mon that apparently doesn't like visitors in it's territory, a wild camerupt with a little lava spawn on it's back seem to be coming your way to put an end to your journey.

  • Arena Type: Cave
  • No water source present.
  • Weather: Stifling Heat
    • Unchangeable
    • Possesses all normal features of Sunny Day
  • Every five (5) rounds of combat, a Pokemon will burst forth from the lava to join the enemy team in battle.
