No Sleep Clause + Breloom + Garchomp = Pain! (a warstory)

After the roaring success of my first warstory (actually, no... everybody hated it) I decided to make another. This battle was quite an interesting one, well at least in my opinion. It was almost completely hax-free, but this was spoiled by the fact that I had forgotten to check what rules my opponent had used when he challenged me. No sleep clause (and he had a Breloom) and to complete the picture, Garchomp showed his ugly head (I was on the Official Shoddy Server). So, let's crack on!

BUGMANIACBOB's TEAM

SHININGGENGAR's TEAM

The biggest and worst (sorry, but 'baddest' isn't a word) threats in OU against my team of trusty bugs. Yippee!

I think now would be the time to employ that well known and highly appropriate English phrase known as ‘bugger’. I like it, it has a certain phonetic resemblance to the word ‘bug’. The bad news is, his Gyarados was 3% away from a 3HKO. The good news is, he is now in revenge kill range.

I was anticipating a switch, though I can’t remember what to. Perhaps he would switch to a Cresselia to sponge a Close Combat? I don’t know why he didn’t switch, although he probably thought I would stick the rocks up sooner or later which would render Gyarados useless (which I would have done, but for a series of unfortunate events which occur later on…).

  • GLISCOR: Took on Garchomp and Breloom and won, both times.

  • BRELOOM: God, that thing's a beast with no Sleep Clause. If it hadn't switched out I would have lost (although admittedly it would've run out of Focus Punches eventually...)
  • GARCHOMP: For failing to sweep, even in lategame.
I hope you enjoyed this. Also, does anyone know how to get rid of [/FONT] tags that is better than manually deleting them for days on end?

To get rid of the Tag, copy the text into Notepad first. I must admit I quite enjoyed this warstory as it was different. I was again a little dissapointed at some of te comments, in parts they were a little lacklustre, and not so tactically detailed (The more "Theory" and "Tactics" the more I can learn from a warstory) but this was not a bad warstory, and nice variation. Good job :)

Nice team also :P

What kind of Scizor set is that? Even with Leftovers instead of Life Orb, a Max HP/Max Def Impish Breloom should take at least 80% from a Max Attack SD'd Bullet Punch. Did you forget to make it a Technician Scizor or something?

Everything considered, you did alright. It certainly could have been a lot worse, especially if your opponent had a ScarfTran.

*cringes at the thought*

Agreeing with CoTH
Also I noticed your opponent was not using Yache Chomp. In that case he should have scouted for Ice Fang first. All it would have taken was a switch to one of his other Pokemon.

Yup, an OK battle, but nothing that pops out that's really special or interesting. Also, you should note that without the crit, you wouldn't have KOed Chomp.

Phoenix: Oh Blimey, thanks. I never even noticed it wasn't technician, I used to run X-Scissor before Platinum came out...

Isaac Cruz: ... I dunno how you work that out. Did you forget that his Chomp was on 44% health from the first Ice Fang, or something? If I have two attacks, both doing 56%, neither needs to be a crit for a 2KO.

Kira: He knew I had Ice Fang, I used it on his Breloom. He was probably a little overconfident that his Chomp's defences would allow him to Swords Dance and 2KO Gliscor. Of course, he really should have Swords Danced when Cross switched out, then proceeding to demolish me. Really, Chomp's defences are almost as overrated as Choice Specs Azelf.

CoTH: Yeah, I really cannot deal with ScarfTran. I've had to use this team less and less after Chompy's departure, as Shaymins and Heatrans and whatnot rush to fill the void.

Really, everyone, thanks for not being nasty about this warstory. I know its not exactly 'good', but being given positive comments about my work is a really nice change. Exegi monumentum aere perennius!
