Darkamber vs. Danmantican (Ref: Rediamond)

I didn't forget about this. I just had difficulties reaching a computer.
Anyways, its a battle between Darkamber8828 and Danmantincan.

Here are some rules for you:
3v3 Singles
DQ Time: 3 Days
2 Recoveries, 5 Chills
Switch = KO
All Abilities
No Items
Arena: Sky Platforms
There are four 20x20 platforms with a 6 foot gap in between each platform. If you fall off you will take 10 damage, then are placed back on a platform that your opponent isn't on.

Darkamber sends out his first Pokemon, Danmantican orders, Darkamber orders, I ref. Here we go.

Ok, let's get this started! Go Scar!

*Growlithe(M)-Scar
Nature: Naive (A 15% increase (rounded up) in Base Speed and a +5% increase in accuracy (e.g. 85 becomes 90) on this Pokemon's attacks. Subtracts * from Special Defense)

Type: Fire
Fire: Fire STAB; immune to burn, 50% reduction in freeze chance, emit a low glow in dark places, takes additional damage if active open flames are exposed to a water attack. Solarbeam has Energy Cost reduced by one (1).

Stats:
HP: 90
Atk: ***
Def: **
SpA: ***
SpD: *(-1)
Spe: 69(+)

Abilities:
Intimidate: (Can be Activated) When this Pokemon initially goes out into the battlefield, it generates an intimidating roar or war cry that shakes all opponents on the battlefield, reducing thier Attack stage by one (1). The attack drop is maintained at the end of each round. If an opponent switches in a new Pokemon, Intimidate can be activated again.
Flash Fire: (Innate) This Pokemon thrives in high temperatures, and takes the energy of any fire attack, nullifies the damage, and uses the additional power to boost its own fire attack’s Base Attack Power by two (2).

Let's start this with a Leer, followed by a Flame Wheel and finish with a strong Bite. However, if Gastly sets up a Substitute, use Bite instead to break the sub.

Fuck Growlithe, fuck Bite.

Dablob, float away so he can't touch you without falling off the edge and pelt it with Sludge Bomb! Then blast him out of the air with Shadow Ball into the abyss! Substitute (15 HP) to block the bite!

We've got this.

EDIT: Mistake, please wait for a few minutes for the reffing to be completed.

Sorry about the lack of an update yesterday. I normally can update once or twice on a weekday, and several times if need be on a weekend, but I had personal buisiness that needed to be resolved yesterday. Anyways, onto the reffing.

Gastly: Sludge Bomb~Shadow Ball~Substitute
Growlithe: Leer~Bite~Flame Wheel

Arena: Picture the four platforms in a square, with the platforms in the top right, top left, bottom right, and bottom left corners. The combatants begin on the bottom right platform.

"And that concludes our report on even more senseless political bickering. Now to Griffin with our weather."

*Long Pause* "Well, Bob, it would appear that the weather is unusually clear over Saffron today, with a few puffy white clouds out of the right window of the chopper and- what in creation is that?! Well folks, it would appear that there is a Pokemon battle going on one thousand feet over the ground, on four platforms that are apparently levitating. I don't believe it myself, and I'm watching it. Forget my innacurate weather report, let's watch this."

"The two combatants, a Gastly and a Growlithe, are squaring off in front of there trainers on one of the four platforms. Wait, Gastly is floating over the edge, it might... oh that's right. I forgot it could levitate. Anyways, its whirling around to face Growlithe, who looks really, really mad. I guess its not used to Pokemon running away in battle. That look Growlithe's giving, its scaring me from over here. Gastly doesn't appear to be fully composed either. A Ghost-type scared? Is that even possible... Anyways, Gastly is hurtling an orb of purple liquid through the air... we have just recieved confirmation that this is indeed a Sludge Bomb attack! Ouch, that had some power! Growlithe licks his... wait... doesn't that mean... yes, Growlithe has been poisoned by his own stupidity!"

"Gastly is charging up something else now, a ball of black energy expanding in front of his mouth. If this connects it could hurt quite a lot. Wait, Growlithe's running! He's leaping through the air, apparently tryingm, to bite Gastly, and then continue on to the next platform! There's the hit! Gastly is not taking that kindly, but things are looking worse for Growlithe as the Shadow Ball knocks him off of his trajectory, sending him hurtlind down to the ground below. Dead Puppies." *Laughter* "I'm sorry, we must be having some bad reception..."

"But wait, there's more! Just like a telemarketer, Growlithe's campaign just keeps going on. His trainer withdraws his precious Pokemon, only to send him back out, looking slightly wounded, and really, really mad. Growlithe makes an intimidating growl, as the air around him ignites into flames, forming an intense spiral of hatred, consuming the entire platform. Gastly, however, appears to be preoccupied, as the smoke around him continues to thicken until the spirit is almost impossible to detect in the viel of smoke. Suddenly, Growlithe lunges forwards, the force of the fire around him carrying him on as he strikes Gastly hard, almost dissappitating the smoke, while springboarding onto another platform. He appears to be taking damage from his earlier poisoning, and it does not look like he can survive another round like this.

Gastly [Dablob] Male

Darkamber, you're up.

Growlithe has been poisoned by his own stupidity!
*snorts in laughter*

Hm, shouldn't the -1 Defense be gone by now?

Stat Boosters/Drops recieved on the first action drop/restore towards 0 at the end of the third action of that round.
Eh whatever.

You're doing great, Dablob! Sludge Bomb it again, then Shadow Ball to hopefully finish it off! If it's dead, Substitute (15 hp)! If not, deal the deathblow with another Sludge Bomb! If you somehow have a Substitute by the end of the second action and Scar is dead, feel free to chill.

Sludge Bomb ~ Shadow Ball ~ Substitute (15 hp)/Sludge Bomb/chill

Arena: Growlithe is on the bottom left platform, while Gastly is between the two bottom platforms.

It's hard to tell with the viel of gas obscuring him, but I think Dablob is laughing from inside his Substitute at how easily Growlithe was dealt with. Grolwithe, however, isn't going to be counted out just yet. As Gastly fires another blob of Sludge at his poisoned foe, Scar uses the energy from the sun to partially restore some of his wounds, negating the damage from the Sludge Bomb attack completely.

Gatsly, not amused, fires another Ball of Shadows at Growlithe. Scar has other plans. He jumps into the air, heading straight towards the Shadow Ball. Just when it looks like we have a repeat of last round, the dog bursts into flames, causing the Shadow Ball to disenegrate around him as the intense light given off from the fire melts the shadows. Upon impact, the searing flames and intense light combine to destroy the cloak of shadows around Gastly, destroying his substitute and once again revealing the ghost. Growlithe uses the momentum to propel himself to the next platform.

His spirits renewed, Scar jumps back towards Gastly. Darkamber simply shakes her head in dissapointment, and orders Dablob to send Growlithe hurtling down to his demise. The Gastly is perfectly happy to comply, and summons an aura of sludge around him to take out the dog once and for all. As Scar's fangs sink into Dablob, however, everything falls apart. Unable to focus in the onslaught of a super effective attack, Gastly loses concentration, and the sludge falls down to Earth. That's going to ruin someone's day. Growlithe lands back safely where he started the match, still pumped from his earlier success.

Use Morning Sun to heal yourself, then hit Gastly with a Nitro Charge, followed by a Bite.

Yup, it's the exact same as last round.

FUCKING HEALING

er

Right, Dablob! Form a Substitute (20 hp) to block the hit once more, and MURDER IT with Sludge Bomb and Shadow Ball!

Nature: Naive

Status: Poisoned

Arena: Growlithe is on the bottom left platform, while Gastly is between the two bottom platforms.

Growlithe once again calls upon the powers of the Morning Sun to heal his many wounds, while Gastly smiles deviously, calling yet another substitute of thick smoke around him, providing a buffer between him and his opponent at the cost of a lot of energy.

Growlithe growls in aggravation, realizing that the entire last round had accomplished basically nothing. He funnels his anger into flame, and leaps forwards in yet another super-charged inferno of heat and light. From somewhere within the gas, Dablob returns fire with a ball of sickening sludge. Growlithe, however, has enough speed to jump back before the ball can hit him critically enough to knock him off of the arena. This lull in combat does allow for the Substitute to remain in place, having not been fully penetrated.

Scar still fights on, and jumps forwards towards Gastly once more, mouth open wide. Dablob realizes that he has no chance of holding his substitute together against the super-effective onslaught, and fires his entire shadowy substitute straight at Growlithe, knocking him straight back to his platform and dealing tremendous damage.

Realizing that he can only stall so long, Danmantican orders Scar to go for one final assault. Blazing from the heat of his internal fire, Growlithe leaps forwards to deliver one, massive bite to Gastly. Cringing in pain, but still willing to fight on, Dablob spews acid into the mouth of the injured Growlithe, causing him to fall towards the ground far below. As Danmantican withdraws his partner, the victorious Gastly creates yet another mask of smoke and relaxes for a moment as Danmantican picks his next Pokemon.

Danmantican's next Pokemon will be sent out on the bottom right platform.

Gastly hides behind his cloak of gasses, but it is obvious that he has been severely weakened. The presence of a new pokemon to face isn't encouraging either. Dratini, ready to do the remaining job, blasts a red beam of pure energy straight at Dablob. When it collides the illusions around Dablob fade, revealing an angry ghost ready to fire a blob of poison at Dratini, who takes the hit, but is clearly weakened.

Realizing his time is short, Gaslty gives one last apologetic wail before glowing red. In a huge flash of light and fire, the entire arena is engulfed in flames and light, with a cloud of smoke rapidly rising from the blast. When at last the cloud finally clears, no one is left standing. Upon closer inspection, Dratini is plummeting to the ground! Thankfully, his trainer withdraws him at the last minute, and sends him back to the platform.

Okay, first off, a few comments:
My computer hates sprites today. Deal with it.
Technically, the round ends with a KO. However, I will make an exception due to previously allowing Darkamber to do it. Dratini is at +2 Speed, which did end up making a difference.

In a burst of light, Darkamber unleashes her Cranidos, Tim, onto the bottom left platform, right across from Tim. After an appropriate pause to get Tim worked up and for orders to be conveyed, the battle resumes. Weakened from the last exchange, and unwilling to get close to the prehistoric beast she's faced with, Dratini is fully content to play the long-range attack game. She starts to calm himself, despite the massive rush she's just experienced, and channels her ancient lineage to increase her powers. In complete contrast to the stereotype built around his species, Tim decides to fight from a distance as well, and starts to chill the air around his mouth into crystals of ice. After an appropriate charging time, both Pokemon fire off thier respective attacks, which collide between the platforms in a huge explosion, each perfectly cancelling out the other.

As the smoke starts to clear, Dratini is seen gargling an enormous amount of water, and preparing to fire it at Tim. Tim isn't the least bit pleased with the idea of where the water came from, and decides to shoot another beam of ice in rage. As the water hits the ice, both attacks stop as the rushing wave of water is completely frozen, and starts to shatter under the forces of gravity. Both Pokemon recoil as a huge shower of ice falls across the arena, weakening the combatants due to thier mutual hatred of the cold.

Realizing her time is short, Dratini begins to tap into her ancestory once more, while Tim prepares a third beam of ice. Once again, a Dragon Pulse and Ice Beam collide in the center of the arena, but this time something is different. When the smoke clears, Dratini is knocked out at her trainer's feet, while Tim still stands, even if he is slightly weakened.
