2012 music

Knife Party's new EP Rage Valley leaked a few days ago, and it's pretty sick. Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen from Pendulum do what they did on their previous release 100% No Modern Talking; make a catchy mix of electronic genres, and add their experience from playing with Pendulum to create something great. Rage Valley has house, dubstep and moombahton, and every one of the four songs is quite different. Great mix of genres, look into this if you're a fan of either Pendulum or electronic work in general.

(spotify works too but it has a 20 hour per month limit, I think, unless you're willing to shell out a little extra).
I don't know who told you that but you need to slap them. I use Spotify all the time, much more than 20 hours each month.

Kimbra's "Vows" came out yesterday but I completely forgot to listen to it. I'm listening to it now and it's so wonderful.

Listened to This Machine, by The Dandy Warhols. Waiting for Franz Ferdinand's new album too! They just did a free concert here, but I was sick and couldn't go. :(

pretty mainstream for hipsters but metric's synthetica is probably my favorite album of theirs (sampler)... probably going to actually buy it when it comes out

can't believe nobody's posted this, but BADBADNOTGOOD's BBNG002 has been out for some time now and does not disappoint. i like its predecessor better, but it's still a fantastic album in its own right and is def. worth a listen especially if you liked the original BBNG or are a fan of jazz-hop in general!!

xenu kiddo last page my dude so slow! haha

although a trollish album, Neutral Bling Hotel - In My G4 Over the Sea is a fun mashup album of hiphop songs and ITAOTS

El-P's albums good id say, gotta give more listens but a decent-good first impression

finally download God's Father and cant stop listening to it, the 34 song monster of a mixtape by Lil B. Fave songs are I Own Swag, Pain, Remy, I love You, Deep Ass Thoughts. I know hes a semijoke, and his flows not exactly great at times, but he gives me a MF DOOMish style flow at times, where hes off beat but still on flow, and some of his lines are really good

A new Beach Boys album for possibly album of the year, maybe.

Spiritualized - Sweet Heart Sweet Light (saw them perform most of this last month)
Leonard Cohen - Old Ideas
Sigur Rós - Valtari
Andrew Bird - Break It Yourself
Killer Mike - R.A.P. Music

These have been my personal favorites for the year. In the vein of new hip hop: Clams Casino - Instrumentals 2 and Curren$y - The Stoned Immaculate have just hit internet...and retailers.

Death Grips - The Money Store for [probably] most overrated album of this year and all of 2010s music released.

The album that I've got most into so far this year is London - Apologies, I Have None. If you like punk/folk, and stuff around that area, you might enjoy it. I picked it up at a show before I left the UK, and it's pretty great listening. Sat In Vicky Park is maybe the highlight, for me at least.

Anyone want free legal music from a band that has been active since 1983 and have a load of releases? Download the Melvins' FREE EP, The Bulls and the Bees from Scion now! Yes, Scion, the automotive vehicle brand. If anyone enjoys this EP I definitely recommend anyone to check out the rest of the Melvins' discography, they are extremely consistent, heavy, experimental, and can't honestly be called any given genre.
