350 Cup

sprites pls

Anyway, Carvanha to A Rank. Carvanha is a good revenge killer in 350 Cup, one of the only Speed Boost users, as once it gets a few boosts, this thing can really wallbreak, it has quite a few options, between Destiny Bond, Ice Beam, and others for coverage.

Timburr to A+ Rank. Timburr is pretty solid, a great tank that can do all-out attacking and Bulk up among others.

Hey can you make it pretty pls:

Shroomish doesn't belong in S-rank imo. Grass-types totally wall it and I think it's outclassed by Ferroseed which can set spikes/stealth rock. Totally not S-rank worthy, maybe A-/b+?

The reason I have Shroomish in S - Rank is it's ability to tank almost any hit in the game and just passively heal it off with Poison Heal. It's a pokemon capable of defeating entire teams in the right circumstances due to just how hard it is to take down.

With all the birdspam, I don't consider it viable enough for it to be S-rank worthy. I battled lots of teams with shroomish, and shroomish was the least of my problems.

I would just add Arceus-Steel somewhere around C as it is one of the best anwsers for Birdspam with wisp and reliable recovery, it also has more offensive presence than say Shieldon or Bronzor, however it flops to Sheer Force Rufflet, Magnemite and faster things with super effective moves, like Drillbur. It still has its niche, is flawed of course, but has worked well with support from things like Clefairy.
Also maybe bump Giant tuna(Kyogre) to A, Water spout and Thunder are really good moves and with Ice beam it can hit Shroomish and deal a lot of damage, a really big threat.
Also when we get to use M-Rayquaza, maybe S++ since no item Mega and stuff.

Even pendulums swing both ways
Slowpoke for A+
Drilbur for A+

Slowpoke is the premier physical tank in the metagame (not hippo who is support because of SR and sand, and is a wall more than a tank) at the moment, and actually is much better than people give it credit for. Its mixed sets are ridiculously hard to break through, posing incredible bulk off of 568 HP and each of its defenses around 300. Its physical sets have absolutely astronomical bulk, rivaling virtually any attacker in the entire metagame (banded cranidos head smash does 70%). It also has a very usable attack stat of 130, and it can dish out damage very well, as well as fish for scald burns when its not using that attack stat. Slowpoke can wall tons of attackers in the metagame, physical and special alike. Adrian introduced an AV set back in august that was really, really good, as well as being a great lure for special attackers. Regenerator makes it easy to pivot out and in, making it very hard to take down even without slack off. Slowpoke really can do almost anything it wants defensively in this meta.

Drilbur is ridiculous. Sure, it needs one other mon for it to live up to its true power (hippo), but that power is so outrageous that I can almost say it belongs on every single team in 350 cup. Life Orb Sand Force Earthquakes absolutely decimate most of the metagame, and with a simple swords dance boost it can really work wonders. With Swords Dance, Drilbur's earthquake can ohko physically defensive slowpoke. Slowpoke. A mon with 180/130 bulk is ohko'd by this nonsense. Good coverage and great utility in rapid spin make it absolutely ridiculous. The only thing holding it back is slightly more speed, but then again this thing can also run sand rush if you want to outspeed things. If you forgo the power/speed of sand, you still get a very powerful mon with nice utility for a team.

Carvanha probably belongs in A. Its just so powerful and has a anti-meta stab combo (hitting slowpoke and hippo super effectively) that really fucks with a lot of teams.

Slowpoke is at A+... and A, so yeah... needs a fix.

Double post, but I've decided to initiate a suspect of Abra and potentially Gastly / Cranidos (if people don't like the idea of those two, I won't even bother with them. Abra has been brought up a lot recently, though.)

Is there a reason they should be banned? There are a lot of counters/checks for these 3. I don't think they are broken in any way.

Don't think there's any point suspecting Cranidos, I can think of two pokémon that can take an adamant,CB,Sheer Force Zen Headbutt and live, albeit barely. And that's his best move against them.

EDIT: Completely unrelated but I can't really see a point for the Light Ball ban, Pikachu simply isn't strong enough without it.

Much better but it still only has one single-turn move that doesn't hurt it that can take out Foongus until ORAS is released, at which point it gets both a way to boost it's attack, if not a reliable one, and a physical move that murders grass-types, but it won't be able to have both at once.

Cranidos is being held for suspect because 1. it limits team building, and 2. it really hurts a playstyle (stall) by being able to break past almost any possible wall with semi-uncomon sets. Abra and Gastly are being held to light for similar reasons: they limit team building by being both so good, hurting stall quite a bit, and by invalidating most other special attackers.

Staravia with the ability reckless can fire off powerfull brave birds and double edges. It has good att and excellent speed. It is also able to run a more defensive set with intimidate.

If you have Abra problems, use ditto; his nice 96 base hp, fully invested, allows him to eat abras alive.
Again, the point isn't that Abra is unbeatable. It's that it's centralizing, and capable of beating entire playstyles. There are answers to Abra that are much more reliable than Ditto, such as Drowzee and Swablu (or for offense, megamom.)

The only thing that abra causes is that every team needs a counter for it to be succesfull. If you have that, you can use any playstyle you want. If you have a counter, your strategy won't be beaten by abra. I'm not saying it isn't centralizing(it really is), but is that a bad thing? There will always mons that are centralizing, but they don't make the meta unhealthy, neither does abra.

Abra still has shit bulk, and anything faster will almost always OHKO.
Besides, if shit goes too crazy, MegaMom can turn Abra into a... Sucker (yeeeaaahahahah) by falcon punching it with priority: the bane of the Abra line.

But what's faster than it, it outspeed likes 95% of the unboosted metagame...
