[LLAMA Pool F] Round 1: Waterwarrior vs. TSRD

"All right Maxim, you're up to ref this one, don't let us down!" :)

"..."

"Is something the matter?"

"Are you sure you really want me reffing this? I'm kinda bad at it..."

"Tournament regret again? Don't worry, you'll do fine. Now get out there and show them what you're made of!"

Oh uh, welcome everybody to the Lore Legends and More Action Tournament, brought to you by The Legend Run Corporation! The gimmick this time is that everyone gets some kind of legend to fight each other with, which is going to ensure some explosive matches. Before I introduce our players, let me read out the rules.

Da Rulez said:
BATTLE RULES
3v3 Singles
Enforced 2 Day DQ Time for players, 3 for referees.
Each player has one DQ warning a match. Go over once, you will use your warning. Go over twice, you will be DQed. This will be at the discretion of the player or one of the hosts if the player takes too long. Referees going over DQ will probably be sacked and replaced.
Infinite Recoveries/Chills per Pokémon.
Three Substitutions per player excluding KO Substitutions.
One Mega Evolution
Switch = OK
Abilities = ALL
Items = ON; you do not have to have the item in possession but the item must not be banned, similar to SICK (Banned Items: Soul Dew, Dark Stone, Light Stone, Diancite, Prison Bottle).
Arena: ASB Tournament Arena
If there are matches still going on come Friday the 6th of February at Midnight (GMT +00:00), then the DQ Times of those matches will shorten to 1 Day Player, 1 Day Referee.
All right, with that done, let me introduce you to the man in the blue corner. It is ASB's own Ice Gym leader Water Warrior! Having 4 badges on his record as well as a reasonable 50% win rate in his gym (kinda hard for one of the worst defensive types in the game might I add!) he's sure to be a tough opponent! For his team, I'd look out for that Kyurem, Carl if I were you, it's bulky, it's fast, and it's powerful enough to potentially take down most of the opponent's team. Quite frankly it's one of the more terrifying legends they allow in this tournament, I'm not even sure where he got it!

In the red corner we have...

....

Who the heck is this guy again?

Shut up, your mike's still on. We can't go about insulting tournament goers you know.

Oh right! It's TSRD, one of the newcomers to ASB, and a polite one at that! Despite his fresh meat status he's definitely chosen a solid crew for this tournament, so waterwarrior better watch out lest this newcomer score an upset! For this match, watch out for Sarasa the Lucario, as not only can she Mega Evolve to become even more threatening, she can hit waterwarrior's entire team for super effective damage. Pair that kind of power with the ever prominent Gardevoir and the bulky Colossoil and this match is going to be far from a cakewalk for the gym leader!
Team TSRD
Good Evening Maxim,
These are the pokemon I will be using this round:

Types
Ignores Attract and Confusion status entirely when using Dark-type damaging and non-damaging attacks.
Immune to Sandstorm damage. Ignores Arena restrictions on Dig and Seismic Attacks for Arenas in which any land mass exists. Evasive Digging reduced from 6 energy per action to 5 per action.

Abilities
Guts [Passive]
This Pokémon is tenacious and will work ever harder when under a status condition, raising the Base Attack Power of all its physical attacks by two. Pokémon with Guts ignore the attack drop from Burn.
Pressure [Passive] (Unlocked)
This Pokémon's presence fills the air with intense anxiety. Any damaging or status attack launched at this Pokémon costs the opposing Pokémon two more energy to perform.
Rebound [Trigger]
This Pokémon is able to bounce one layer of an entry hazard back from their side of the field to the other side with their immense strength and intuition.
Rebound Command: Removes a layer of hazards from the user's side of the field. Places a layer of the same type on the opponent's field.
In battles with more than two teams, the user must target a team to Rebound to.

Types
-1 Energy Cost on non-Fairy typed Nature, Sound, and Scent moves (Stacks with second STAB). (Nature Power, Natural Gift; Sound Moves; Aromatherapy, Odor Sleuth, Sweet Scent)
Can lift and throw opponents with Psychic regardless of Special Attack Rank. Psychic-type attacks cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, or redirecting opposing attacks.

Abilities
Pixilate [Toggle] (Mega)
By default, this Pokémon's Normal-type moves are Fairy-type moves, and have their Base Attack Power increased by two.
When toggled, this Pokémon's Normal-type attacks have their Base Attack Power increased by two.
Only Normal-typed moves changed by Pixilate receive this boost, and not all Fairy-type moves.
If a Pokémon has been skill-swapped multiple abilities that change Normal-type attacks, the attacks become dual-typed, but the Base Attack Power boosts of the abilities do not stack.
Synchronize [Passive]
Pokémon with this ability mentally link their condition to an opposing Pokémon and, when afflicted with the major status ailments Burn, Poison, or Paralysis,
will share their status condition with the opponent. Pokémon will not be afflicted with status conditions to which they are immune by virtue of typing, ability, etc.
Telepathy [Passive] (Unlocked)
This Pokémon has a mental link with its allies in multiple battles, which allows it to avoid taking damage from allied attacks that damage each foe or the entire field like Blizzard and Earthquake.
They are still affected by an opponents spread damage attacks.
Trace [Trigger]
When entering into battle, this Pokémon can replace Trace with an ability on one of its opponents for six Energy. The ability remains on the Pokémon for six actions.
When the copied ability fades, the user regains Trace. This effect only triggers if the ability to be copied is specified when the Pokémon is sent out. Wonder Guard cannot be Traced.
Trace Command: Replace Trace with the target Ability for six actions. When the copied ability fades, the user regains Trace.

Types
Ignore weight restrictions on Circle Throw, Seismic Toss, Sky Drop, Storm Throw, Submission, and Vital Throw.

Abilities
Adaptability [Passive] (Mega)
Moves that match this Pokémon's type have their Base Attack Power increased by two.
Inner Focus [Passive]
When an opponent attempts to flinch this Pokémon, it stands firm and continues its attack. If it has another ability that would be activated by flinching, that ability activates.
Justified [Passive] (Unlocked)
This Pokémon's body reacts to dark energy, invigorating its passions.
When hit by a Dark-type move, the Pokémon's attack will increase one stage. A boost gained this way will be maintained at the end of each round.
Steadfast [Passive]
If this Pokémon is flinched, it becomes aware of the speed difference and increases Speed by one stage to make up the difference. This Speed boost is maintained at the end of each round.

Only thing we have now is the coin toss! This coin toss will determine who will send out first. Let's see where it lands!

RNG [1=Heads, Waterwarrior l 2=Tails, TSRD]=2=TSRD

Turn order:
TSRD sends out Pokemon and equips item
waterwarrior sends out Pokemon, equips item, and orders
TSRD orders
I referee

"Well, this is certainly a change from our usual setting..."

Seriho nods. She glances over at Sarasa for reassurance before continuing out into the arena.
"Just take deep breaths and don't let yourself get flustered. Keeping calm will be key."

Sending out Gardevoir @ Rare Candy. Reserving the right to (potentially) Trace before WaterWarrior orders.

Let's see here... Paul's Hat @ Link Cable, take the stage! (Also, you can trace Magic Guard when you order since Garde couldn't have traced upon send-out)

Shadow Ball -> Knock Off -> Shadow Ball
If Taunt, change that action to Magic Coat and push back. Only activate once.
If Encore AND Gardevoir is not Taunted, change that action to Magic Coat the first time, Protect the second, and Taunt the third, pushing back each time.
If Imprison AND Gardevoir is not Taunted, change that action to Snatch. Only activate once.

Absolutely not perfect, but it'll cover me for now. Let's just be happy TSRD didn't go Mega on this thing...

EDIT: Fixed the nickname to the one of my LLAMA Zam, orders stayed the same. Happy now Avnomke? >.>

Round 1: Sneaky Play

"Dude, get on that reffing. You almost got us thrown out in the first round!"

"Oh...sorry. It won't happen again, I promise."

"I'm holding you to that. Just make sure it's not an empty promise like the raid one."

"..."

"Just get to work, I don't fancy getting another earful from It's A Random."

Welcome everybody to the first round of this exciting battle. TSRD opens up by sending out Seriho the Gardevoir; to which Waterwarrior responds by sending Houdi---Paul's Hat the Alakazam. It seems like a fairly even matchup here, as while Gardevoir has an HP advantage and some disabling options, Alakazam has more coverage.

Paul's Hat is the first to move, as it gathers up the shadows in the arena to form a ball, before telekinetically pushing it towards the Gardevoir. Seriho dodges, but a simple flick of the wrist from Paul's Hat sends it right into her back! Besides the obvious damage, the shadows also seem to have effected Seriho's mental state a bit. Not enough to keep her from...kissing the Alakazam? Oh wait that's a Draining Kiss, which does quite a bit of damage and heals a fair bit of Seriho.

Next comes an Imprison from Serhi---wait no, it seems Paul's Hat anticipated this and Snatches the move from her grasp with a hand motion of some sort. Paul's Hat smirks and swiftly Imprison's some of Seriho's moves. Oh...wow. It seems the joke's on Paul's Hat though, as the only thing he managed to Imprison was Confusion. That's actually a really smart play from our new guy.

Finally, we have a repeat of the first action. Paul's Hat gathers the shadows once more for a Shadow Ball attack. Figuring dodging is pointless, Seriho simply braces herself and takes it square on the chin. This one did more damage thanks to the shadows affecting her mental state, but TSRD looks on in confidence. After the ball hits her, she moves in for another kiss, draining more hp and dealing more damage.

As we close this round, we see that TSRD has taken an early lead, with Seriho managing to deal more damage to Paul's Hat than the reverse. With the hp gap widened, what will Water Warrior do next? Stay tuned to find out!

Counterswitch?

"Seriho take a breather." Seriho nods and blinks out of the arena to stand by Sarasa.

"Haru, feeling up to this?" Haru grins and dives into the arena's floor.

I'm assuming you're trying to get a bit of an advantageous match-up with Kyurem vs Garde, but while this whale is out, time to have fun! Carl @ Expert Belt, destroy!

Blizzard -> Ice Beam -> Blizzard
If P/E move, change that action to Imprison (Protect/Substitute/Rock Slide) and push back. Only activate once.
If Encore, change that action to Dodge and push back
If Bulldoze change that action to Glaciate and push back

Let's see if I missed something outside of the obvious incoming U-Turn.

Remember speed ties are based on who pays the least EN for their attack!

"And there is the one we've been waiting for..."
Everyone turns their gaze to the majestic crystalline dragon.

"Protect yourself as best you can Haru. You won't need to face it for long."
Haru grimly faces her foe and gathers herself for a quick charge... and retreat.

Round 2: Tables Turn and U-Turns
Welcome back everyone! Last round we saw TSRD gain a slight lead over waterwarrior. Will he be able to keep it? TSRD starts by switching out to Haru the Colossoil, but to this waterwarrior simply smirks and sends out his legendary...Carl the Kyurem? What kinda name is that? Well, either way waterwarrior clearly has the advantage in this matchup.

Carl starts the round by whipping up a freezing wind. In anticipation of this attack, Haru shields itself with a green protective shield. However, it turns out this was a feint, and Carl instead...Imprisons Haru's moves? Well whatever works. At least it didn't Imprison him inside the Protect eh, eh!

*crickets*

Er...anyways.

Just as soon as Haru's shield went down, he dashes towards the Kyurem at the speed of light, and gives him a good slap in the face! Carl, considerably surprised at the impudence can do little except glare at Haru menacingly.

Carl then goes red in the face, having regained it's composure. Seeing that divine retribution is likely to follow, Haru goes in for one last strike before U-Turning to the trainer to flee. However, he was not able to get into the Pokeball before Carl lets loose a powerful beam of ice and wind. That Ice Beam hit its mark, and wow did it hurt. Carl must've been really angry with that one, as it scored a weak spot on the Colossoil. That one move did more damage than Haru did the whole round.

At the end of this round...it really could go either way. Haru took quite a bit of damage, while doing little more than chip damage in return, but at the same time TSRD can switch into a far better matchup. What will happen next? Stay tuned to find the answer!

Gusts of chill air sweep out of the arena as Haru burrows away from her foe.
"I hope she isn't hurt... Seriho? Are you ok?"

Seriho trembles slightly but steels herself to face the icy behemoth... When a paw grips her shoulder. She turns to see Sarasa stepping forward with an intense look in her eye.
Sarasa leaps out into the arena and releases a howl that seems to warp the very air around her. When the distortion clears, she has taken on a much more savage appearance...

Sending in Sarasa the Lucario @ Lucarionite

Carl, this is gonna be very, very tiring, but trust me- It hurts a lot less than taking all of his attacks. However, this whole battle... not so reassuring. Any of it. Not even expecting a win much to be honest....

Protect -> Focus Blast -> Protect

Round 3: Turnabout

Welcome back folks! Last time we saw Haru the Colossoil making Carl the Kyurem very angry, then retreating when the icy strikes finally could not be stalled any longer. In Haru's place, Sarasa the Lucario is sent out, a matchup that is certain to cause headaches for waterwarrior. Before the battle begins, TSRD pushes the button on his mega device of choice, mega evolving Lucario! This just got a whole lot worse for Carl.

The battle commences in earnest...though it's not exactly as explosive as one would think. Sarasa looks at Carl with a gleam in her eye, ready to jump and kick the icy dragon, but Carl puts up a green Protective barrier for just such an occasion. Thanks to her master, Sarasa manages to avoid being caught in the trap, and simply uses her Iron Tail to smash Carl's barrier. The barrier survived the blow, but Carl definitely had to exert a lot of energy to keep that one up.

With the barrier now gone and all obstacles eliminated, Sarasa jumps to the edge of the stadium, spooking some of the audience before jumping into the air, and landing on Carl with a super powerful kick! That High Jump Kick severely hurt Carl, no wonder he put up a barrier last action! Still, there wasn't much he could do about that, so he resorts to gathering up a beam of energy, then, when the Lucario lands on the ground, immediately shoots it, giving Sarasa no time to react. She's blown across the stadium and into the wall she jumped off of earlier, that had to hurt, though not as much as her blow to Carl.

After that explosive piece of combat, Carl knows to get the heck out of dodge before any more hits come its way, so he puts up another barrier. Sarasa, wanting to at least tire him out before he leaves the arena, attacks with her Iron Tail once again.

This round wasn't very exciting for most of it, but it was a very important round. Waterwarrior managed to get Carl in decent condition to send out later in the match, which is bad news for a team that's quite weak to Kyurem in general. That said, TSRD has managed to put a pretty decent lead between himself and Waterwarrior that may make the difference. This match is still anyone's game, so be sure to stay tuned for the next round!

Really on the defensive now... I'll be honest, I didn't expect nearly this much of a challenge from someone as new as you, but it's not over yet! Carl's Victim's @ Gengarite, you can muscle through any of his Pokemon!

Care to counter-swtich?

Sarasa glares after the retreating dragon. "Don't worry Sarasa, you'll get another shot at him, I'm sure of it."
Turning back, a ghastly figure has taken the dragon's place. As she turns to face this new horror, a deep rumbling could be heard from below the arena.
Sarasa takes a few cautious steps back when the stadium floor cracks and Haru erupts from center, spraying rock and soil into the stands.

Round 4: Trapped!

Welcome back folks! After the last round, waterwarrior decides to bring out the big guns and send out Carl's Victims the Gengar, and with a Gengarite no less! In response TSRD brings Haru the Colossoil back out, only for waterwarrior to push his Mega Icicle and Mega Evolve Carl's Victims into Mega Gengar.

Carl's Victims wastes no time and goes immediately on the offensive, focusing some energy into a ball before blasting it at Haru. It lands squarely on the Colossoil's horn, dealing massive damage and pushing him back a little bit. Haru doesn't seem to notice however, as it simply starts charging with it's horn at the enemy. Carl's Victims braces for the attack, but it turns out to be a feint, and Haru instead bites down on Carl's Victims with tremendous force!

Carl's Victims, seeing an opportunity, grasps Haru in his hands, and starts draining energy from it. The Giga Drain does a fair bit of damage, and some of Carl's Victims fatigue starts to fade away. Haru breaks away from the ghost's grasp, and charges with his horn again. This time Carl's Victims is ready for the feint, but this time the drilling attack is real, the Drill Run digs into Carl's Victims chest, erasing all of the drain and then some.

Finally, the Gengar decides to blast Haru with another powerful Focus Blast. The beam hits Haru on his scar, that had to hurt! Haru, instead of repeating his action, decides to take a different approach and Digs into the ground. Carl's Victims tries to fly above the stadium to avoid it, but Haru triumphantly comes out of the hole and smashes the Gengar with his drill!

An explosive round to be sure. Despite Mega Gengar's S rank, I would say Haru has the upper hand, thanks to being able to move second and being very close to taking out Carl's Victims. That's pretty impressive if you ask me! Still, waterwarrior can use some substitutions to put a crimp into TSRD's plans, so we'll have to wait and see what happens!

Finish it!

Giga Drain -> Dazzling Gleam -> Giga Drain
If Sucker Punch AND you don't have a Substitute up, change that action to Hypnosis the first time, Confuse Ray the second time, and Chill the third time, pushing actions and subs back
If P/E move, change that action to Chill and push back. Do not activate consecutively.
If Endure A1, change remaining actions to Substitute (15) -> Dazzling Gleam -> Smog (Fog)

I think this covers all my bases... gulp

Breathing heavily, Haru braces herself for another charge. This was going to hurt...

Round 6: Quick as Lightning

"Oh screw the locksmith, I'm breaking in. Macho, come on out."

"Hurraagh!" *breaks the door down with a dynamic punch*

"All right, now Maxim, get out there and ref before---wha...the room's empty?" O_o

*hands Arthur a letter that was on the floor.*

"All right, let's see what we have here..."

To whom it may concern,

I am sorry that I've been a burden to you all. I have decided to leave this reffing in the capable hands of Arthur because I've found that I'm an idiot. I cannot do anything right, everyone is able to beat me, I never ref on time, and worst of all, my idiocy hasn't gone away even after six months. Suffice it to say I've decided to move to the mountains to find myself, and come back stronger than ever. Soon I will burn all the mistakes out of myself, and will be perfect when I return.

Your friend,
Maxim

"...You've gotta be kidding me. He's going to become a hermit in the mountains, he's really doing it. I'd better---"

Round 6 has started, will the ref please come to the stand.

"...Crap."

All right, Gengar was taken down by a Sucker Punch by Colossoil, turning this match around.

"What do you mean 'terrible flavor'? That was flavor."

"Stop pulling my leg and get Maxim to ref."

"Err...that's the problem. Maxim's sort of err, vanished."

"Then find somebody who will ref in his place. We have a tournament to run, and I can't just stop it to look for a ref."

"Yes sir."

"Oh, and while you're at it, get somebody to fix the door you broke."

"..."

The fuck are you talking about "turning this match around" I'm getting my ass handed to me @_@

Alakazam out

Signal Beam -> Dazzling Gleam -> Signal Beam
If Sucker Punch, change that action to Toxic
If Endure, change that action to Toxic
If Fake Out in a combination, change that action to Protect

Haru moved sluggishly. Clearly her injuries had taken alot out of her. "You did amazingly Haru."
Haru looks over at her friends. Sarasa nods while Seriho looks to be on the verge of tears.
"Just a little more and you can rest." Haru shakes off her daze. Once more.

Protect~Fake Out~Rest
