I'm pretty sure McMeghan had a great shot of winning even if Kyogre crit Blissey. If Blissey fainted he'd just have to go to Groudon and then Roar Kyogre out with Latias. He probably should have gone to Groudon on one of the turns Heysup was obviously using Substitute and then gone back to Blissey or to Latias if he wanted to mess with Kyogre.

In fact, I don't think luck affected any of these games' outcomes.
