Well when i was more active (because i haven't touched it in these weeks,if you guys noticed lol), it really didn't finished with my social-life or anything, atm i have a gf and i don't even have time to play... but that's because i'm responsible, so i guess is different on everyone, some people live there as we all know.So..not to troll this thread, but how much has your social life / interaction with members of the opposite sex suffered from this...disease, this..breakout epidemic? Not everyone who plays is completely obsessed with it (called "casuals"), but a large proportion of players really are addicted due to the nature of the game. Two of my friends/classmates have dropped out of college because of it, just look at the time requirement needed to raid and obtain the best gear and you'll see why. It really can be unhealthy, especially considering all that work will be a waste when the game is no longer hosted online. That's why pvp is fun, it doesn't tie you down as much imo, but $15 a month is a little heavy for a game that loses its fun factor so quickly after hitting 70.So..not to troll this thread, but how much has your social life / interaction with members of the opposite sex suffered from this...disease, this..breakout epidemic? Between this and the "omg mmos ruin ur life" I get a little irked. It doesn't matter if you're playing Pokémon, WoW, or doing anything else like watching TV, reading fiction, going to the movies, managing your fantasy football team or whatever. It's all entertainment. None of it is truly "productive," it's all for fun. Sometimes you still stress out a bit, notably when faced with a challenge in a video game ("luck," "cheating," etc.), but you're usually just filling time doing something that amuses you. Playing WoW is no less "wasteful" than doing anything but going to work, paying the bills and, for the older crowd, taking care of your family.all that work will be a waste when the game is no longer hosted online.
Man fuck you guys. :(40 orc shaman on trollbane
playin' with glalie, meddle, and others. we started end of july after moving on from RO and i can safely say we're having lots of fun!
That is a generalization and in general I would wager is not true more often than it is true. People don't just throw 40+ hours a week on something they aren't getting paid to do unless they are enjoying it. There are that handful in a lot of raiding guilds that aren't really enjoying what they are doing and are just doing it for epeen or whatever but the majority of the people I was with in the high end guilds(moreso Juggernaut than my previous guild) were definitely enjoying themselves. A lot of people greatly enjoy challenging themselves on the most difficult content in the game, and that's really the only type of player who will willingly put in the amount of time required to be in the best guilds without burning out almost immediately.Raikou said:These people don't play for fun, they play to get better gear and fuel their online reputations.
There were two big reasons for me:I was a shaman from release to about 6 months before TBC, then I switched to my warlock which was my main for then on. I mostly pvp'd on her but also raided up to c'thun (minimally, I hate raiding). They've just destroyed the shaman class compared to what it used to be, maybe you guys are all alliance rolling them for novelty value?
I often felt it was more for Heroism/Bloodlust, Purge and Elemental specs crazy burst power. Most 2345 team shaman's I've seen rarely go on the attack except for a quick burst kill, of course this could be cause my 5's team is a Paladin/Spriest/Rogue/Warlock/Mage gib team and they either heal the Warrior or lose him. Gib team Shamans play differently usually, just straight nukes on whatever the spriest+warlock targets.Shamans are on 5s teams because of the Windfury Totem they provide the Warrior and the 2345, but either way their constant damage is extremely high in comparison to a lot of classes.
Well like I said, it's mainly for the 2345 this season, where as last season it was for the Lust and Windfury totem. How you play 'FOTM' has changed dramatically over the course of the two seasons though, their lightning bolts still hurt regardless though.I often felt it was more for Heroism/Bloodlust, Purge and Elemental specs crazy burst power. Yeah, what I meant is you have to be demo spec and geared like a main tank to be able to hang at all, in contrast to say, an ice mage who has many forms of reactive defense. I got a little past 1900 in 2v2 as destruction, there was no way to go higher with rogues running around, I'd die so fast. But I found destruction much more fun than demo so I didn't mind the glass ceiling. Nice female dwarf priest btw.http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Dentarg&n=Ausmara
Warlocks don't really have many problems, their lack of armor means nothing if they're running around at Resilience Cap, 14k HP and are SL/SL spec, however they are quite rare in 5s teams due to how long it takes to equip the Warlock up to the normal standard :P
