Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
IF (a damaging priority move is used in a combination) THEN (use Roost)
[DO ONCE] IF (Endure is used) THEN (use Encore that action, and Chill the next action)
With Rodney looking down the barrell Pwemon has to take a chance. In one of the strangest displays in Pokemon Rodney sets himself up to Endure what's coming and Togekissu makes sure he makes the most of the move by Encoring him into doing it over and over. Of course one can't just endure while endured so Rodney has to Struggle away and crash into Togekissu haphazardly. Kind of fortunately at least these are benefiting from that prior Justified boost. In fact thanks to some convoluted speed tie mechanics Rodney is able to get a couple of Struggling hits in while Togekissu chills and eventually unloads a powerful Air Slash but unfortunately he cannot break the Gallade's Endure and Rodney makes it out of the round. Even if he is hanging by the very definition of a thread.
Rodney used Endure Rodney is ready to endure incoming attacks! [15 EN]
Togekissu used Encore Rodney was given an encore [Endure] (3a)! [10 EN]
Action 2
Togekissu chilled out [+12 EN]
Rodney used Struggle CRIT [<=63] 274/1000: NO
(5 + (5-4)*1.5) + 4 = 10.5 Rodney was hurt by recoil! Rodney endured the energy loss! [10.5 DMG] [4.2 RECOIL] [1 EN]
Action 3
Rodney used Struggle CRIT [<=63] 357/1000: NO
(5 + (5-4)*1.5) + 4 = 10.5 Rodney was hurt by recoil! Rodney endured the energy loss! [10.5 DMG] [4.2 RECOIL] [0 EN]
Togekissu used Air Slash CRIT [<=125] 189/1000: NO
(8 + 3 + (6-4)*1.5)*1.5 = 21 Rodney endured the hit! [12 DMG] [5 EN]
Turn Order
Pwnemon issues actions.
Elevator Music actions.

And for the simple cost of 10 energy Togekissu's Magic Coat is able to circumvent Rodney's last ditch attempt to have some effect on the remainder of this match. It is the Gallade himself who winds up Taunted, not that it matters once he falls to the ground in an exhausted heap.
Ice Beam ~ Dragon Pulse ~ Dragon Pulse
IF EM's Cyclohm uses a Dragon-type combo then use Protect that action and pushback
IF EM's Cyclohm uses Endure and does not have a sub up and does not use heal bell this round then use toxic that action and pushback
After some indecision Pwnemon moves forward with the mirror match up. Cyclohm e Cyclohm only luckily for him Doug comes in with a little more HP and a much more useful item. Elevator Music is a canny battler however and elongates his Cyclohm's time by Protecting against the incoming Ice Beam. He then unfortunately has to wear a powerful Dragon Pulse while preparing to unleash a massive Draco Meteor of his own. Then, in what might be the biggest talking point to come of this match, he abuses some Speed Tie mechanics to get one last hit in with a Dragon Breath before finally succumbing to another high powered Dragon Pulse
Togekissu is now left to stand along against two Pokemon. Sure he has more HP than the two combined and type advantage over Cyclohm but nothing at all is certain in this nail biting match up which looks to be slowly drawing to a close.
[DO ONCE] IF (Endure is used) THEN (use Encore that action and Chill two actions later)
IF (a protective/evasive move is used successfully) THEN (use Chill on the first instance, and Roost on the second instance)
"However, despite the terminology used, the substitution with that clause will activate if the right move is ordered, regardless of whether or not the move is actually successfully used." As such,
Protect ~ Protect ~ Protect
IF i'm overruled and the whole sub is ignored bc successful is not a legal clause then protect ~ shock wave
If i'm overruled even there then Shock Wave
Texas: I restored your orders. Never be that disrespectful of another user in this forum again please.
Okay fine I'll go along with the idea that one line of text goes against an ASB wide convention of subbing against successful protects. It definitely requires further clarification and Elevator Music feel free to seek it and show me WoG or anything else to overturn this. Pwnemon your substitutions will not be valid, you cannot sub against "If I don't understand the mechanic". If it is ruled differently to how I have reffed it then your actions will be Protect-Protect-Protect and nothing else. More to the point is that I believe the intention of the substitution could have been conveyed legally in a differnt format.
Using some dubious ideas Doug Protects himself for all three actions (but only twice successfully) and burns a bunch of energy while Togekissu compartively burns very little and gets a crucial 20 HP back. I'm all for not dying but this may not have been the smartest of strategies.
im torn on what to do here but i think i'll just do this:
Thunder Wave ~ thunderbolt ~ thunderbolt
IF Togekiss uses a damaging Fairy-type move a1 then use Thundershock that action
IF Togekiss uses Protect then use Light Screen that action and push back
And it looks like Emma has a cunning two stage plan to end this one. After first swiftly Detecting away Doug's attempt to paralyze hey Togekissu sets itself to take the full brunt of a couple of Thunderbolts while setting up a gosh darn near unavoidable hit for the soon to be incoming Kitsunoh. I say soon to be incoming because while the first of Doug's bolts may have hit critically the second used up every bit of the Cyclohm's remaining energy and then some and ensured that Newman would be on the field. And I think we can all feel that ghostly breeze coming in over his shoulder...
Okay I'm just going to post here because it's likely the best place to get a response. While I'm at it Texas Cloverleaf
All I can see happening here is an absolute draw. The combo just exactly KOes but the best of my understanding is the action still finishes and the Future Sight combo still hits. I haven't searched for precedent but I'm pretty sure I remember seeing Toxic and the like KO at the end of an action. Someone correct me here if I'm wrong and otherwise I'd be looking to Texas to rule on how the draw is played out. I recall something in a tourney or gym ruling somewhere saying he who caused the draw would lose in the case of Explosion of an EN KO but neither directly causes this draw.
If of course I'm wrong and the match ends the second one side is KOed totally then this is an easy fix.
Great fucking game em, I echo your sentiments, this might just be the best game I've ever played even if we both made some silly goofs here and there. Good luck in future endeavors!
