Project Break This Team (Week 42)

Manectric @ Manectite
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Overheat
- Hidden Power Ice

Bisharp @ Life Orb
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Swords Dance
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch

Mega Manectric has already been noted as one of the deadly sins to this team. However, it loses to Tyranitar due to Sand, and Latias doesn't particularly mind HP Ice. The solution? Bisharp. Bisharp can usually take on Tyranitar and deal heavy, heavy damage with Iron Head. Knock Off and Sucker Punch are going to make Latias go home crying. haha YES!
252 Atk Life Orb Bisharp Iron Head vs. 156 HP / 0 Def Tyranitar: 307-361 (80.7 - 95%) -- guaranteed 2HKO Just calced dis for fun XD

Core 1 and Core 8

Feel like a decent number of votes have happened so I'll post now.

I think the first thing I should say is nobody posted the best core break this team. It was alluded to in the original post of the team.

Weavile + Magnezone

Weavile actually 5-0s the team without Mega Scizor - Low Kick OHKOs Tyranitar, Knock Off OHKOs Latias, Icicle Crash OHKOs Landorus-T, Ice Shard OHKOs Thundurus after Rocks (and goes before TWave), and Knock Off KOs Volcanion after 2 SR switchins. Scizor of course counters it well but if it can be trapped and removed with Magnezone, Weavile kinda just wins.

This is quite a bit different from Weavile + Mega Manectric. In fact I don't think this team is that weak to Manectric - Latias is a decent check to it (although its Pursuit weak) - but at any point if Tyranitar can come in against Mane on a double switch or Lando sac (preventing Volt out), it's gonna do like 75% to Mane with Pursuit, putting it in range of Scizor's BP after Rocks.

Anyway I think core 8 is the closest to the aforementioned core. Gardevoir is no Weavile for this team but it's still a big issue since it 1v1s every member besides Scizor. It's pretty much a lock to get a couple kills if you get a free switch-in vs Tyranitar, weakened Lando or Latias.

Core 1 cuz Lum Serp is a problem lol, I dont actually think Scarf Terrak is that strong against this team though.

Voting is now Closed and we have 2 Winners This Week including our 2nd 3 Time Nominee matthewc20090 who will now get to post his own team next week should he wish after claiming the with terrakion + Serp core and Our very own Random Passerby who claims his 2nd nomination with of course Weavile + mega manetric

I'll update the hall of fame soon

This week we'll be dealing with a fairly recently made team but one that quickly gained Infamy. The Reincarnation of Goth stall this time staring weavile made by our very own Skarmx2 who's taken much pleasure in reaping the souls of the unprepred.

Explanation: Here it is the return of Goth stall replacing the now banned Goth with CB Weavile. The Team is a little fairy and manaphy weak but it generally matchs well with most of the meta. Sableye is the standard utility this time carrying toxic instead of fake out to deal with talonflame. Weavile Traps and deals with psychic types like Reuniclus, Jirachi and mew as well as checking Garde and manaphy. Chans/Skarm Deal with he usual broad spectrum attackers present in the meta leaving Quasgire and Amonguss to handle unsual stuff such as Pup Lopunny, Dual dance lando and CM clef.

In the right hands the team can deal with pretty much anyone so Lets see what people come up with this week :D Have fun.

Lol 2 stallbreakers will definitely ravage any stall team but come on.

You just have to weaken one Pokemon, typically Chansey, with Pursuit / Volt Switch / whatever and watch them desperately start sacrificing their entire team to keep it alive. This gives many possible cores, like CB Ttar + Volcanion / Charizard-Y / whatever, but my preference here is offensive SD U-turn Mega Scizor. This makes it much harder for things Weavile to revenge kill it, giving you much more room to repeatedly U-turn / Pursuit Chansey, especially as it doesn't have the greatest move in Pokemon and can't really touch it. So besides Mega Scizor, I need something that the team relies heavily on Chansey to take, as well as not weak to Pursuit so that Weavile cannot just Pursuit trap it. Going to just go with Heatran here, since the team looks fairly weak to it at a glance, but anything can work here.

You can always go the "lol stallbreaker" with like Taunt Mega Garde / Stallbreaker Togekiss / Manaphy / Crawdaunt or whatever you like but honestly if it's weak to Pursuit it's not that bad for the team to handle.

Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Light Metal
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- U-Turn
- Bullet Punch
- Pursuit

Heatran @ Power Herb
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Magma Storm
- Earth Power
- Taunt
- Solar Beam

The team is literally just stall but with a random Weavile to pursuit potential stallbreakers so lol. Using Mega Scizor here makes it easier on you, as if you predict wrong while trying to get it in, at least Weavile can't take it out. CB Tyranitar is probably more efficient in doing this but I didn't feel like using that set.

Dr Ciel

Banned deucer.
* Insert reservation for Volcarona + Specs Keldeo *

Creator of Chaos the team name should be "CB Terrakion switch-in = Skarmory"

Volcarona @ Lum Berry
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 72 HP / 252 SpA / 184 Spe
Timid Nature
- Quiver Dance
- Fire Blast
- Giga Drain
- Bug Buzz / Hidden Power Ground

Keldeo @ Choice Specs
Ability: Justified
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Scald
- Secret Sword
- Hydro Pump
- Icy Wind

This teams Volcarona counter boils down to keeping Chansey at a high amount of HP and hoping that Volcarona has already eaten its Lum Berry so Mega Sableye can Toxic it. Meanwhile, Volc can just set up to +1 on both Skarm (which lacks Whirlwind for heaven knows why) and Amoonguss, & then proceed to raise hell with its Fire STAB and Giga Drain for Quagsire. Meanwhile, Keldeo, which itself does huge damage to this team, is only needed to take out Chansey with a Specs Secret Sword.

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 84 SpD
Calm Nature
- Calm Mind
- Moonblast
- Soft-Boiled
- Flamethrower

Gardevoir @ Gardevoirite
Ability: Trace
EVs: 16 HP / 8 Def / 232 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Taunt

This very simple fairy spam core actually does a lot to this team. It makes Weavile useless and the rest of the team can't do much back either. Clefable threathens out weavile and skarmory while gardevoir takes on chansey and amoonguss for clefable. Sableye can't come in on either. So the only little issue that remains is quagsire, which is only 3HKO'd by clefable's moonblast and 2HKO'd by gardevoir's focus blast around 65% of the time.

Your core is ineffective because you didnt name your clefable "CoCs Lovechild" and the gardevoir "CoCs Mistress". Thank me later.

pretty sure chansey beats mega garde without taunt lol

Gyarados @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature

Kyurem-Black @ Life Orb
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 20 Atk / 252 SpA / 236 Spe
Mild Nature
- Fusion Bolt
- Ice Beam
- Earth Power
- Outrage

Double Mold Breaker core, to notably get around Magic Bounce, Sturdy and Unaware. Mega Gyarados can set up on practically every Pokémon except Amoonguss, as +6 Waterfall OHKOes Skarm through Sturdy and Taunt shuts down Mega Sableye, Skarmory and Quagsire (beware of Scald burns). Kyurem-B gets rid of Amoonguss and pressures Quagsire. Substitute can work as this team has no phazing options, but then Gyara will rely more on Kyurem-B to remove Quagsire.

Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Light Metal
EVs: 248 HP / 44 Atk / 16 Def / 200 SpD
Impish Nature
- Swords Dance
- Roost
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn

By itself, Togekiss 5-0s this team. It just switches in on anything but Amoonguss, clicks NP and flinches everything. The only way to deal with it is with Weavile, which it can just switch to Scizor when it comes. Weavile's Pursuit doesn't do crap to Togekiss and Weavile can't do shit to Mega Scizor. Once Mega Scizor comes in on Weavile, it can just click U-turn and bring Togekiss back to murder the stall team again.

Mega CharizardX + A friend

Charizard-Mega-X @ Charizardite X
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 40 HP / 252 Atk / 216 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Outrage
- Flare Blitz
- Swords Dance
- Roost

Really... Nothing is stopping CharizardX from 6-0'ing this team. There's no taunt on Skarm (which is a HUGE no-no for counter bird), Quag can't eat two of these outrages (and skarm can't counter it down fast enough either) and your only real hope is that you somehow get this thing to sleep (darkest timeline and you somehow misclick when amoongus is in...) with enough free turns for weavile to kill it. (Two turns needed, obviously. Not bad, but you also have to spend one to get in).

So Mr ZardX friend is basically anything that eats a sleep.

Sleep Please (Keldeo) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Justified
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Scald
- Secret Sword
- Sleep Talk
- Icy Wind

Keldeo does nice things such as scare weavile even if keldeo is sleeping. And yes, sleep talk is exactly because fuck amoongus but there's really no reason otherwise. Basically amoongus wants to wall this, which is fine. As soon as it can no longer spore anything, ZardX sweeps (and also comes in on everything bar weavile locked icicle crash).

Volcanion @ Choice Specs
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 76 HP / 252 SpA / 180 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 SpA
- Steam Eruption
- Fire Blast
- Sludge Wave
- Hidden Power [Grass]

Tyranitar @ Choice Band
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 100 HP / 252 Atk / 156 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stone Edge
- Pursuit
- Crunch
- Superpower

Pretty straightforward core. Specs Volcanion kills everything on the team bar Chansey, which gets trapped by BandTar. BandTar also has a very good matchup against the team by itself, so even if Volcanion somehow dies, you still have a very good chance of breaking the team with tar.
