What do you mean by "it's pretty much over"? Preposterous!
Then I will sum this battle up.
The Battle started with a matchup of Flare the Volcarona vs Fuji Camerupt. Neither player had a clear advantage with that match-up, which leads to two options: Either try to win with skill and better orders or just get a new matchup. Rediamond tried option a and Engineer option b. Roar picked poor Skadi the Syclant, giving Engineer a humongous upperhand.
The new matchup being Syclant vs Asleep Camerupt, Rediamond's only option was to stall to get to the switch phase in one piece and maybe use Syclant on a not that disadvantageous matchup (perhaps vs Aerodactyl?). Unfortunately he made the crucial mistake ofpointing out to the ref that he was forgetting that Taunt doesn't work on Asleep Targets. When you make a mistake in a situation like this, you will get burned, which was exactly what happened.
Back to the switch phase, Rediamond went back to the Volcarona vs Camerupt matchup and once again tried to overwhelm his foe with attacks. This time, Engineer could afford the costs of an offensive approach and responded with devastating attacks of his own, taking out more than half of Volcarona's hp with a single attack.
Pleased with the results, the challenger retreated a battered Camerupt and sends out Senpo the Stratagem to Clean up. The Leader, making the correct option of not ordering last vs such a dangerous challenger, keeps Volcarona in, hoping for his Brightpowder to suddenly be effective, for a change (spoilers: didn't work). Volcarona fainted and the challenger got first blood!
The Leader sent out his trusted Heracross to try and catch up. But he wasn't expecting Stratagem's Hidden Power to be of the flying type, and that alone spelt doom for the fighting bug. Still, it did manage to deal good damage on the way out.
And now it came to this. Skadi the Syclant is facing Senpo the Stratagem, with the tough mission of defeating 3 mons alone (since this isn't UMVC3, it won't happen <_>).
Sensing danger, Senpo pumps up adrenaline to Endure future hits. The Leader had a substitution ready for this. He said to skadi: "if that stratagem uses endure, you summon a hailstorm and combine it with Icy Wind".
Better said than done.
Skadi looked around and realized something that its trainer failed to...the chamber is a closed space and there is no way to summon hail naturally! The Substitution was illegal!
And Thus, Skadi was forced to go with her original actions, and attacked with Ice Shard twice. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough and Senpo managed to endure both hits before ending this battle with Heat Wave!
Syclant Fainted!
And with that, the Challenger Engineer Pikachu managed to defeat his second gym and get his third badge (also by a landslide) including his own. He may not be as hungry as his fellow leaders, but his more than convincing victories sure speak for themselves...

Well... This match demonstrated a handful of the major weaknesses of the new arena. But even with the weaknesses of my team and gym, it still took an absurd amount of skill to pull off that victory. Take this Sting Badge as a sign of your victory.
