A faster Taunt user(even after factoring Scarfboosted Speed in)like Deoxys-S completely shuts this set down. I dont think even a Jolly max speed Scarfed Deoxys-D can outspeed Jolly/Timid Deoxys-S.

At the risk of being the wrong, I didn't think Deoxys-D was Uber material in gen 4, and he sure as hell isn't one in gen 5. To be honest, I'd rather run any of the other spikers (Skarm, Forretress, Nattorei) because they actually have a good typing. (Psychic sucks balls defensively)
Despite his staggering defenses, his poor HP means he's actually less bulkier than Cresselia. Meh, I could see using him as a bulky Spiking Dual Screen lead or an Uxie 2.0.

You need an attack at the very least. I'd probably drop SR or Spikes for psychic. That way way you aren't complete fodder. I mean seriously, after tricking any ground type pokemon and Electric immune pokemon completely have your way with you. Granted you aren't going to doing much with Psychic, but it's seriously better than nothing.
I question the viability of Trick. With the new mechanics, even if you Trick a slower lead as it uses SR, it can still choose a new move next turn. I think a better lead would look something like this:

If you happen to catch their Taunt user on the switch, they won't get a chance to do anything. I've also done this with a Rain team, reversing this from a 2-6 (I think) to a 2-0.

If you happen to catch their Taunt user on the switch, they won't get a chance to do anything. I've also done this with a Rain team, reversing this from a 2-6 (I think) to a 2-0.

lol yep, shoe-in for the Defensive Characteristic, if you ask me. And I'm a novice when it comes to stall; watch when our top players start doing this and amass like 1000 points over the rest of the leaderboard. I hope that when the Deoxys forms are banned they get rid of this guy too.
I looks like Deoxys-D is the new Stallrein, and it doesn't even need Hail to work. I was really surprised that it didn't die after it was Taunted even though it was forced to Struggle. Considering how much your opponent switched, you should definitely try to set up Spikes and SR as well.
Stealth Rock definitely would have been up were it not for that damn Darkrai lead icing two of my Pokemon right off the bat. I'm sure that would have played a sizeable factor in the match's outcome (as well as Dory's flinch at the end >_>), but we'll never know.

Nothing fulfills the Defensive Characteristic, and certainly not Deoxys-D.
Not even Lugia or Giratina. They should only be banned if they're tested and found to meet the Offensive Characteristic as bulky setup sweepers.
The coolest Deoxys-D set is the Agility Toxic one on site. Being able to outspeed Deoxys-S is insanely cool too (gets completely fucked by steels though) and can spam Recover/Taunt/Toxic for instant win!
That's crap and you know it. Deoxys-D does wall and stall out a significant portion of the metagame and so does Lugia. Cresselia did the same thing in 4th gen UU. Not sure about Giratina, since it doesn't have instant recovery, but I'm fairly certain that won't die anytime soon either. I'm not sure what whacked out definition you have for the Defensive Characteristic, other than the one that's actually present:

I actually think Giratina is the least likely of them to go to Ubers, or atleast less likely than Lugia. It has 4 weaknesses to very common types and has to use Rest if it wants to heal itself, which is a bad idea to use without Sleep Talk due to the change in the Sleep mechanics. Lugia also has higher Speed and can use dual screens to further boost its walling capabilities. It even has Multi-Scale which can be abused with its high Speed and Recover to constantly heal back its HP and stall the opponent.
Cresselia doesn't have the supporting moves that Deoxys-D has like taunt, spikes and most importantly, recover.
Oh right, Multi-scale is a change...
But I really don't see Giratina going to OU with those defenses. Seriously? 150/120/120? This type can even take super effective hits quite well.
And Deoxys D isn't on the original Ban List. We'll see in time if he is overpowered.

"Significant" is an incredibly vague term. What is a "significant" portion of the metagame, anyway? 10% of OU? That could be considered significant, but I hardly think any Pokemon would be banned for that. 90% of OU? That's another story. However, nothing has the ability to wall and stall out 90% of OU. Lugia, Giratina, and Deoxys-D may wall and stall out a "significant" portion of the metagame, in a sense, but not to such an extent as to justify their being banned.
And Cresselia was not entirely banned under the Defensive Characteristic. Checking some discussions in PR, it seems that much of the reason for it being banned was under the Offensive Characteristic as a bulky sweeper.
Also, for clarification, my arguments were referring specifically to OU. And as was brought up, Deoxys-D isn't actually any bulkier than Cresselia, which was never banned from OU. Its supporting moves may help, but with the changes in the metagame, it's foolish to make assumptions about just how much they'll help.
I wouldn't say 90% is needed. Although I don't think it's been defined, I'd imagine somewhere around or over 50% would be a good benchmark, maybe 2/3? And look at SJCrew's log. He set up Deoxys-D on a Tyranitar using Crunch. I'm not sure it gets more defensive than setting up on a STAB attack you're weak to. With a set like that, I'd say Deoxys-D has a good chance of at least being a suspect under the Defensive Characteristic.

I didn't even know it could utilize it in such a way. Taunt Blocks Roar and Substitute blocks Dragon Tail so it can't even be phazed.
On the plus side, your Deoxys-D can't touch pokemon who are immune / avoid toxic spikes... still that's an insane set. Either you need to be lucky with a crit or hit it really fucking hard.

2)taunt/magic mirror/magic coat/encore
3)2 steel/flying/levitators/balloons, if you don't also have sr support (which I didn't see in his log since he was so focused on setting up Deoxys-D)(steel types are removed with spikes support, but not the rest).
4)an enemy toxic spikes absorber/rapid spinner plus 2 sandstorm immunes
5)poison heal breloom
