While IAR resigns himself to defeat already and completely despite the fully healthy Fairy waiting in the wings Slasher finishes off the foe with a tiny little Scratch. Also a critical hit kind of rubs salt into the wound.

Yeah like Aromatisse is going to do much besides get belted by Iron Tail in this situation. The only saving grace—if you would call it one—is that Aromatisse can learn a sound-based move that can pierce Double Team... @_@

Disarming Voice > Disarming Voice > Disarming Voice
IF
Haxorus uses (Non-Combo) Dig, AND you are not Taunted, THEN use Trick Room on the first instance.
IF Endure is issued, AND you are not Taunted, THEN replace all remaining actions with Substitute (15 HP) > Disarming Voice > Protect (starting from the action used, ignoring an action if past A3)

After whacking Aromatisse with one massive Iron Tail Slasher looks to elongate his time in the match a little more. He Endures while still sitting behind his Substitute that Aromatisse's Disarming Voice is rendering more or less useless while the Fairy makes a Substitue of his own. Slasher then decimates this little fairy doll with a Poison Jab before Aromatisse the unloved responds with another Disarming Voice which brings Slasher down to that magic 1 HP. Things do not look good for the challenger, but this gym has shown strong evidence on the idea of never say never in the past.

The Leader's possibly overconfident lack of substitutions comes back to bite him a little in this round. Aromatisse the Unloved is able to play a little set up by turning the room on its head and then limiting Slasher's offensive options with a little bit of tormenting, mind you he took another Iron Tail to the face in the process. The Fairy is then able to gobble up the substitute to get a little health back while Slasher KOes itself with a frankly still pretty hard hitting Struggle. IAR is better poised than he was, but still has a rather healthy Dragonite to stare down.

Actually Big Root makes the HP recovery from Draining Kiss 150% because it is 75% normally. By the same margin Draining Kiss would cost 9.5 EN, not 6.

Anyhow Bide will be a pain in the arse but we can handle it... And Energy... And we could have made things more efficient... But the extra HP is so useful... Ugh. Oh well, it is not as if I was winning this a couple of rounds ago.

Draining Kiss > Disarming Voice > Draining Kiss
IF
(Damaging Steel combination) is used, THEN use Protect on the first instance, pushing actions back.
IF (Protective/Evasive Move) is used successfully, THEN use Chill that action, pushing actions back.

This is really not a nice situation to be in and I'm going to lose the damage race horribly but at least next round will be somewhat nicer. Fuck broken root.

In this match some Pokemon fight while two trainers complain an awful, awful lot. Although being able to heal more than you damage is somewhat silly. Nevertheless a Light Screen/defence drop combo from Tempest at least lets it end the round with more HP than the opponent. Even if the Fairy did lose a net 6 hit points from two powerful steel typed attacks.

Either I lose because of Self KO Clause... Or I lose because the gap is too large... I would still pin it down on Double Team but... Yeah I used too much too early. I cannot see a way out of this so... Unless Fairy Wind crits... Not the first time I had to rely on a < 10% chance to win a Gym Match and then another attack to hit @_@

Despite what else might have gone on in this match perhaps Light Screen played the biggest part when it came down to the business end. Having to manage its energy Aromatisse just can't quite get enough damage in. Tempest's HP (and Aromatisse's Energy) last juuuuuust long enough for the Dragonite to completely overkill the Fairy with one heck of an Iron Head. Still one heck of a close match (unless I missed something..)

Alas no luck but in the end Texas deserved the win, even though Double Team played a pretty big part in that. Nevertheless it is GG, I may return one day in the future. One day.

I think Aromatisse gets a KOC even though Haxorus died by Struggle recoil though I might be wrong on that.
