[Overview]

Eelektross is a very unique Pokemon, because thanks to its ability Levitate, it is the third Pokemon with essentially no weaknesses. Eelektross has an excellent movepool consisting of moves such as Thunderbolt, Giga Drain, and Flamethrower, giving it almost flawless coverage. Eelektross even has access to Coil, which allows it to be an effective bulky sweeper. Aside from its Speed, Eelektross has very good stats across the board, making it a very versatile Pokemon that can go both physically and specially offensive. Unfortunately, Eelektross faces competition from faster and more powerful Electric-types, such as Rotom-C, Galvantula, and Manectric, which all have superb coverage. Eelektross's bulk, while good, is not great, and because of its lack of resistances, most powerful attacks will be able to 2HKO it. Eelektross's low Speed is a double-edged sword because while it allows Eelektross to give its teammate a free switch-in with a slow Volt Switch, it also means that foes such as Aggron and Gallade can outspeed and OHKO Eelektross before it has a chance to do much of anything. Finally, Eelektross lacks any form of recovery outside of Drain Punch, Giga Drain, and Rest, meaning that it will get worn down rather easily. Overall, Eelektross is a very good Pokemon, but is only rewarding in a few niche roles.

[SET]
name: Offensive Pivot
move 1: Volt Switch
move 2: Flamethrower
move 3: Giga Drain
move 4: Thunderbolt
item: Leftovers / Choice Specs
nature: Modest
evs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Eelektross is an excellent offensive pivot thanks to its decent Special Attack, good bulk, and amazing coverage. Volt Switch grants it the ability to scout while still hitting relatively hard. What differentiates Eelektross from other Volt Switch users is its coverage. Flamethrower roasts Grass-types, such as Ferroseed, Rotom-C, and Lilligant, that resist its STAB moves, and Giga Drain takes care of any Pokemon with an Electric immunity such as Lanturn, Golurk, and Rhydon. Thunderbolt is an alternate STAB move, allowing Eelektross to deal more damage to foes like Slowking, Mandibuzz, and Poliwrath and giving it a more useful move in situations when you do not want to switch out.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

An alternate EV spread of 94 HP / 252 SpA / 162 Spe can be used to outspeed uninvested base 70s, such as specially defensive Magneton and Roselia, and still hit as hard as possible. However, Eelektross loses a great amount of bulk if using this EV spread. Leftovers is the preferred choice because it allows Eelektross to switch up moves and regain crucial HP; however, Choice Specs provides more power and gives Eelektross a chance to 2HKO walls such as Uxie, Spiritomb, and Cryogonal. Life Orb could be used as a sort of middle ground between Choice Specs and Leftovers, but the recoil counteracts Eelektross's main draw over other Electric-types: decent bulk and its lack of weaknesses. Speaking of items, Expert Belt can be used as it does not cause any recoil and Eelektross hits most of the tier for super effective damage. However, Eelektross appreciates the additional healing from Leftovers or the additional power from Choice Specs more, and it cannot hit many of its counters for super effective damage. Eelektross's fourth moveslot is very adaptable and can be changed for the benefit of your team. Superpower can replace Thunderbolt as it can 2HKO Normal-types such as Bouffalant, Clefable, and Lickilicky as well as OHKO Cryogonal, though a Mild nature should be used if running it. Acid Spray can be used over Volt Switch, as it acts as a pseudo-Nasty Plot and can prove very useful because Eelektross's other moves already provide neutral coverage.

As Eelektross forces many switches, entry hazard support from teammates such as Smeargle, Omastar, Scolipede, and Crustle is recommended to put pressure on the opponent's team. Paralysis support from Pokemon such as Uxie, Slowking, and Druddigon is recommended to mitigate Eelektross's horrendous Speed. Frail Pokemon such as Zangoose and Durant appreciate Eelektross's slow Volt Switch because it provides a free switch-in and activates the former's Toxic Orb. The only Pokemon in RU that resists all of Eelektross's moves is Druddigon, so powerful Steel-types such as Aggron and Escavalier that can tank hits from Druddigon and strike back with their STABs make for good teammates. Samurott and Omastar are also great partners, as they can both strike Druddigon hard with Ice Beam, as well as lure Water- and Electric-types. Ice-types such as Rotom-F, Jynx, and Glaceon can OHKO Druddigon with Blizzard or Ice Beam. Eelektross also fits very well on VoltTurn teams, so Pokemon such as Braviary, Rotom-C, and Mesprit are solid partners.

[SET]
name: Coil
move 1: Coil
move 2: ThunderPunch
move 3: Drain Punch
move 4: Substitute
item: Leftovers
nature: Careful
evs: 248 HP / 252 SpD / 8 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

With this set, Eelektross utilizes its bulk and lack of weaknesses to take advantage of Coil and become an offensive and defensive threat. Despite ThunderPunch's low Base Power, it is a great STAB move as it doesn't have recoil like Wild Charge does. Drain Punch works well in conjunction with ThunderPunch because it gives Eelektross extra coverage against Pokemon such as Lanturn, Rotom-F, and Ferroseed, which are all immune or resistant, and allows it to recover HP. Substitute is a great option because with Eelektross's great bulk, its Substitute can survive a hit from defensive Pokemon such as Slowking, Lanturn, and Tangrowth. In addition, Substitute lets Eelektross avoid status and set up Coil boosts with greater ease.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Max HP and Special Defense with a Careful nature are crucial, because without maximum investment Eelektross's Substitute cannot survive a hit from the Pokemon mentioned above and Coil boosts Defense anyways. Zap Cannon can be an alternative to ThunderPunch as it hits almost as hard, makes good use of Coil's accuracy boost, and always paralyzes the opponent, but with it, Eelektross can easily get PP stalled and lose to Calm Mind sweepers such as Uxie and Spiritomb. Furthermore, Zap Cannon has horrible accuracy before the Coil boost, and its power doesn't get increased by Coil, making it the inferior option overall. Dragon Tail is an acceptable option over Substitute because it forces out threats; if you choose that option, be sure to pair Eelektross with entry hazard setters such as Ferroseed and Crustle. Aqua Tail can be used as another attacking option, as it can hit bulky Fire- and Ground-types, such as Golurk and Camerupt (the former of which is immune to both of Eelektross's other attacking moves), much harder. Eelektross is walled by defensive Pokemon such as Rotom, Amoonguss, and Golurk. Pokemon that carry appropriate coverage to check these Pokemon, including Entei, Rotom-C, and Moltres, make great teammates. Both Entei and Moltres also help against Lilligant, which can cripple and set up on Eelektross with Sleep Powder and Quiver Dance. Finally, Eelektross appreciates Heal Bell and Wish support from Pokemon such as Clefable and Alomomola as there are many Pokemon that can status it before it sets up a Substitute.

[Other Options]

When looking at Eelektross you might have noticed it has a higher Attack than Special Attack. You can opt to use Choice Band on Eelektross, as it has many physical moves such as Wild Charge, Superpower, U-turn, and Aqua Tail. The problem is that it is generally inferior to the offensive pivot set, which carries better coverage moves. Furthermore, Wild Charge has recoil, hampering Eelektross's bulk. Though it's generally better to use the ones already listed, Eelektross has quite a few other moves it can used. Dragon Claw stands out the most as it hits Druddigon, Fraxure, and Altaria super effectively, giving Eelektross a shot at doing heavy damage to them. Charge Beam is Eelektross's only way of raising its Special Attack, but it's better off attacking right off the bat with Thunderbolt or Volt Switch, and Charge Beam is outclassed by Acid Spray, which forces more switches and has a guaranteed effect. Eelektross has access to other moves such as Flash Cannon, Rock Slide, Signal Beam, and Crunch, but they don't add much to Eelektross's coverage. Finally, a defensive variant of Eelektross can be used as it has good bulk and moves such Toxic, Thunder Wave, and Light Screen to benefit teammates. However, Eelektross's lack of reliable recovery hinders its ability to go defensive.

[Checks and Counters]

Eelektross is very difficult to counter, as very few things can handle both the Coil and offensive pivot sets. Druddigon stands out though, for it easily counters both, as it takes little damage due to its sheer bulk and can phaze out Eelektross or attack with Outrage. Altaria can do a similar job, but it might lose to the Coil set. Specially defensive Gallade handles the offensive pivot set well, and can also outspeed and cripple the Coil set with Will-O-Wisp. Clefable and Lickilicky can take any hit from the offensive pivot, wear down Eelektross with their attacks, and keep themselves healthy with Wish. Both Lickilicky and Clefable lose to the Coil set, however. The Coil set is easier to deal with because it is quite weak prior to boosting. Golurk completely walls the Coil set, only fearing the rare Aqua Tail, and can hit Eelektross hard with Shadow Punch. Taunt users such as Whimsicott and Misdreavus can prevent Eelektross from accumulating any boosts, and the former can even Encore Eelektross into Coil or Substitute. Quagsire stops Coil Eelektross completely because it ignores stat boosts thanks to its ability, Unaware. However, both Quagsire and Whimsicott lose to the special set. Choice Band users such as Emboar, Entei, and Aggron can all outspeed Eelektross and OHKO it with their STABs, but they can't handle Eelektross after a few Coil boosts.

[Overview]

 • Very good movepool consisting of Thunderbolt, Gigadrain, Superpower, and etc almost has flawless coverage.
 • No weakness thanks to Levitate (Can run triple Levitate with Magnet Rise and Air Ballon lol)
 • Can perform many roles such as physical attacker, special attacker and set up with Coil.
 • Average bulk of 85 / 85 / 85
 • Held back by its base 50 Speed.
 • Competition from other powerful and faster Electric-types such as Rotom-C, Galvantula, and Manetric who all have superb coverage.
 • One of those Pokemon that seems really good on paper but doesn't do as well in practise.

[SET]
name: Offensive Pivot
move 1: Thunderbolt
move 2: Flamethrower
move 3: Giga Drain
move 4: Volt Switch
item: Leftovers / Choice Specs
nature: Modest
evs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

 • Thunderbolt very good for nailing those bulky Water- and Flying-types such as Poliwrath, Slowking, and Mandibuzz
 • Flamethrower roasts any Grass-types such as Ferroseed, Rotom-C, and Lilligant.
 • Giga Drain hits Lanturn and Quagsire while giving pseudo recovery.
 • Volt Switch gives you momentum while still hitting hard.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

 • EVs allow the eel to hit as hard as possible, tank hits, and outspeed minimum speed investment Tangrowth.
 • More speed can be used to outspeed neutral base 60, 70, and 80 but the bulk loss is very noticeable.
 • Life Orb so you can switch moves but still hit hard but it's inferior to Leftovers and Choice Specs cause it hampers Eelektross bulk from the recoil.
 • Ebelt can be used since Eelektross hits most of the tier for super effective damage while there's no recoil damage and can bluff Choice Specs.
 • Superpower or Drain Punch 2HKOs Clefable which can easily Life Orb stall Eelektross and hits other Pokemon like Bouffalant, Absol, Aggron for super effective damage. If you opt to these options use Mild nature.
 • Acid Spray acts as pseudo Nasty Plot
 • Hazard support from Pokemon such as Smeargle and Crustle
 • Enjoys paralysis support from Pokemon such as Uxie, Slowking, and Tangrowth
 • Frail Pokemon such as Zangoose and Durant appreciate slow Volt Switch, as it essentially giving free switch in and activates the former's Toxic Orb.
 • Only Pokemon(?) that walls Eelektross is Druddigon, especially the specially defensive variant. So, powerful attackers such as Aggron and Escavalier can tank hits while hitting back with their own STABs. Ice-types such as Rotom-F and Glaceon can OHKO Druddigon with Blizzard.

[SET]
name: Coil
move 1: Coil
move 2: ThunderPunch
move 3: Drain Punch
move 4: Substitute
item: Leftovers
nature: Careful
evs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
 • Easily sets up on defensive Pokemon.
 • Eelektross makes good use of Coil since it has no weakness, bulky and almost never OHKOed.
 • ThunderPunch has low BP but it doesn't give recoil like Wild Charge
 • Drain Punch is excellent for recovery and helping out with coverage, especially against Pokemon such as Lanturn, Clefable, and Ferroseed.
 • Substitute is a great option because its sub allow you to live defensive Pokemon hits such as Slowking's Scald, Lanturn's Scald, and Tangrowth's Giga Drain.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]
 • Max HP and Special Defense with Careful nature make Eelektross as bulky as possible and let its sub survive hits.
 • Zap Cannon hits almost as hard as ThunderPunch but using Zap Cannon makes you lose to PP stall and CM sweepers such as Spiritomb and Sigilyph
 • Dragon Tail can force out Pokemon so it's decent to use when paired up with hazard spreaders such as Ferroseed and Crustle
 • Aqua Tail may be used to hit Fire- and Ground-types harder
 • Walled hard against defensive Pokemon such as Rotom, Amoongus, and Quagsire. Pokemon that carry the appropriate coverage such as Entei, Manetric and Moltres make decent checks to those walls.
 • Rather slow, so paralysis support is nice
 • Appreciates Heal Bell and Wish support Clefable pairs up nicely because of it's slow speed it can get status easily.

[Other Options]

 • CB
 • Dragon Claw if you really want to hit Druddigon hard
 • Other moves such as Acrobatics, Charge Beam, Flash Cannon, and Rock Slide
 • Defensive variant with max HP and Special Defence with moves such as RestTalk, Toxic, Thunderwave and Light Screen
 • Not much else

[Checks and Counters]

 • Specially defensive Druddigon and Altaria counters both sets taking little damage while the latter can Haze away any boosts that the Eel has accumulated.
 • Clefable, Lickilicky, and Gallade can take any hits of the special attacker set, wear down Eelektross with their respective move while healing themselves with Wish, but the former two must be wary of Superpower.
 • Coil is much more easier to deal with any phaser forces it out. Support Pokemon such as Whimsicott and Misdreavus can Taunt Eelektross while the former can Encore Eelektross into Coil or Substitute. Quagsire stops it cold as it can Toxic Eelektross and ignore the stat boosts.
 • CB users such as Medicham, Entei, and Aggron all can outspeed Eelektross and take it out with their STABs despite maximum HP investment.

I've implemented all of Rohail's suggestions (Pkn Range6 already implemented all of the thing QC wanted him too).
EDIT: May I give HP Ice an OO mention?

I'll give this a look, aside from grammar errors that I may adress later:

[Overview]
 • Don't mention the "Game Freak decided", shorten that to "with no weaknesses"
 • Mention Eelektross lacks reliable recovery outside of maybe Drain Punch, so it also gets worn down easily
 • I'd remove that last sentence and say that Eelektross can be good but you need to be sure it's what you're looking for
[Pivot]
 • Mention Eelektross also has awesome coverage, which can help in its job because not a lot of things wall it aside from maybe Munchlax who sucks anyways
 • Also mention that Eelektross can maim Volt Switch resists such as Golurk and Rhydon handily, like Rotom-C, but it also doesn't need Hidden Power to hit Ferroseed
 • Mention Golurk instead of Sandslash, no one uses Sandslash and it sucks
 • Mention T-bolt is there for a more powerful STAB when Volt Switch is not going to do enough
[Pivot AC]
 • Mention the other cool thing about Superpower is the KO on Cryo
 • Mention a Mild Nature if Superpower is used (not Rash, Eel wants to come in on stuff like Slowking)
 • Specify the things Eel outspeeds with the alternate EV spread; in other words, Magneton and Roselia (and I guess Alomomola)
 • Mention that if you're using Acid Spray, it should replace Volt Switch because then Eelektross attempts to sweep in a way
 • Also mention Omastar and Scolipede as hazard setters
 • Replace Tangrowth with Druddigon since I haven't seen anyone use Stun Spore Tangrowth, and I seriously doubt it's viable
 • Mention Jynx alongside Rotom-F and Glaceon since Jynx isn't anywhere near as dependent on hail as they are; it also has Ice Beam+Lovely Kiss which is nice
[Coil]
 • Mention Eel's lack of weaknesses also helps in its ability to set up
 • Mention that Drain Punch hits Rotom-F too
[Coil AC]
 • Mention the reason specially defensive is chosen is to make sure Eel can endure special hits while setting up, since Coil is boosting physical defense anyways
 • Mention also that Zap Cannon is special, so it won't get the power-up from Coil, making it inferior
 • Mention specifically what Aqua Tail hits; it hits Golurk, who otherwise completely walls this set, as well as to an extent Rhydon because Rhydon is bulky as hell
 • Also mention Fire-types help against Lilligant, which could Sleep Powder Eel before it reacts and can set up QD all over it
 • Mention Alomomola as a Wish passer
[OO]
 • CB's problem is that U-turn is so much worse than Volt Switch, and Superpower+A-Tail is done better by GD+Flamethrower. Say not that it faces competition from the special set, but rather that it's pretty much inferior
 • I'd also give Fraxure a mention among the Dragons (maybe)
 • Mention Eelektross has no recovery which hinders its ability to go defensive
 • Charge Beam is also outclassed by Acid Spray because Acid Spray's effect is larger and is guaranteed
[C&C]
 • Mention not many things can handle both Eel sets
 • I'd generalize the Druddigon/Altaria mention since any of their sets can take hits from Eel even without defensive investment
 • Mention Whimsicott and Quagsire get fucked by the special set
 • Mention Clefable and Licilicky get fucked hard by the Coil set
 • Also mention Eelektross is pretty easy to wear down with repeated attacks although Spikes won't do much because of Levitate.
Do all that and you can consider this,

QC Approved 3/3

Just a couple of other things to note.

[Overview]

 • Giga Drain also provides some form of healing for special sets
 • Mention how it's really slow as an Electric-type which can help and hurt it (slower Volt Switches for "free" switch-ins, but inability to outspeed stuff like Aggron and Gallade)

[Pivot]

 • Mention Samurott and Omastar since Ice Beam wrecks Druddigon, the lone thing in RU that resists Electric+Grass+Fire coverage. Both also lure in Electric attacks for Eel to get in on.
 • VoltTurn teammates; Braviary, Mesprit, etc.
 • Mention Amoonguss over Tangrowth if you really want to keep a Stun Spore user as a mention.

[C&C]

 • Golurk hard walls the Coil set and can endure non-Specs Giga Drain.
 • Stronger mention on SpDef Gallade. It can actually deal with both sets. Sheer special bulk on the special set and Will-O-Wisp cripples the Coil set. Bulky SD Gallade can also handle both to a lesser extent
Would approve, but it isn't needed...

[SET COMMENTS]

This set takes a different approach from the offensive pivot. Here, Eelektross utilizes its bulk and lack of weaknesses to take advantage of Coil and become an offensive and defensive threat. Despite ThunderPunch's low Base Power, it is a great STAB move and doesn't gihave recoil un like Wild Charge does. Drain Punch works well within conjunction ofwith ThunderPunch because it gives Eelektross extra coverage againd allows Eelektross to recover HP off Pokemon such as Lanturn, Rotom-F, and Ferroseed, who the former of which is immune whileto and the latter two are resistant to ThunderPunch, and allows its STAB to recover HP. Substitute is a great option because with its great bulk, Eelektross's Substitute can survive a hit from defensive Pokemon such as Slowking, Lanturn, and Tangrowth. In addition, Substitute lets Eelektross avoid status and set up with Coil with mogreater ease.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Max HP and Special Defense with a Careful nature is crucial because without maximum investment Eelektross's Substitute can not survive a hit from the Pokemon mentioned above, and Coil is boosting your dits Defense anyways. Zap Cannon can be an alternative to ThunderPunch since it hits almost as hard while appreciatmaking good use of the accuracy boost and gualways paranteeslyzing the opponent, being paralyzed, but youut with it Eelektross can easily can get PP stalled and lose to Calm Mind sweepers such as Uxie and Spiritomb. Comments:
I put in essentially, because Mold Breaker Drudd, and all the stuff that can take down Levitate. Technically, Sable and Spiritomb can be hit SE by scrappy, or after Foresight/odor sleuth, so this is fine.
I would move the line about coil in the overview to before the line about stat spread;it's kind of better that way, since it talks about movepool, then moves on to stats. If you do this, the two sentences can be easily combined.
The word Hampers when talking about Life Orb on the first set fits very badly and needs to be replaced.
The sentence about Expert Belt on the first set is pretty bad and needs to be rewritten.
When talking about entry hazards on the first set, write 'put pressure from switching out' better, it's pretty bad right there.
I assume that you meant Pokemon in RU, not just 'pokemon'. Also:Aggron and Escav are steel types, you don't even mention this part of defeating druddigon.
Glaceon can have Ice Beam too, and Jynx can have blizzard, so I just took out 'in jynx's case'.
I rearranged the Drain Punch section-the way you wrote it is bad in a couple of ways, and this way is much better.
Mention that Aqua Tail hitting Golurk is HUGE since it 100% walls you otherwise
You mention Fraxure, but you said drudd was the only resist of giga drain+electric+flamethrower. So maybe mention Fraxure there too, and even possibly Dragonair.
Drudd and Altaria can do more than just phaze him (I don't think altaria can or will phase at all, plus, doesn't the coil set maybe beat it?)
Mention that Aqua Tail stops Golurk from walling Coil, but otherwise it still walls it

Sorry for the delay, but I've implemented your AM check and most of your suggestion.
Also, I will have limited access to the computer tomorrow, so I will not be able to implement any GP checks immediately.

@Magcargo needs to use the like button less from what I've heard. GP check. Good job on writing this.

[Overview]

Eelektross is a very unique Pokemon, because thanks to its abiltiy Levitate, it is the third Pokemon with essentially no weaknesses thanks to its ability, Levitate. Eelektross has an excellent movepool consisting of moves such as Thunderbolt, Giga Drain, and Flamethrower, giving Eelektross it almost flawless coverage. Eelektross even has access to Coil, which allows it to become be an effective bulky sweeper. Aside from its Speed, Eelektross has very good stats across the board, making it a very versatile Pokemon that can go both physically and specially offensive. Unfortunately, Eelektross faces competition from faster and more powerful Electric-types such as Rotom-C, Galvantula, and Manetric Manectric who all have superb coverage. Eelektross's bulk, while good, is not great and because of its lack of resistances, most powerful attacks will be able to 2HKO it. Eelektross's low Speed is a double-edged sword because (add comma) while it allows Eelektross to give its teammate a free switch-in with a slow Volt Switch, it also means that foes such as Aggron and Gallade can outspeed and OHKO Eelektross before it has a chance to do much of anything. Finally, Eelektross lacks any form of recovery outside of Drain Punch, Giga Drain (add comma) and Rest, meaning that it will get worn down rather easily. Overall, Eelektross is a very good Pokemon, but can only be rewarding it is only worth using if it is what your team is looking for.

[SET]
name: Offensive Pivot
move 1: Volt Switch
move 2: Flamethrower
move 3: Giga Drain
move 4: Thunderbolt
item: Leftovers / Choice Specs
nature: Modest
evs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Eelektross is an excellent offensive pivot thanks to its decent Special Attack, great bulk, and amazing coverage. Volt Switch grants Eelektross it the ability to scout while still hitting relatively hard. What differentiates Eelektross from other Volt Switch users is its coverage. Flamethrower roasts Grass-types, such as Ferroseed, Rotom-C, and Lilligant (add comma) that resist its STAB moves, while and Giga Drain takes care of any Pokemon with an Electric immunity, such as Lanturn, Golurk, and Rhydon. Thunderbolt is an alternate STAB move, allowing Eelektross to deal more damage to foes such as Slowking, Mandibuzz, and Poliwrath, while also being and giving it a more useful move in situations when you do not want it to switch out.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

An alternate EV spread of 94 HP / 252 SpA / 162 Spe could be used to outspeed uninvested base 70s, such as Specially Defensive specially defensive Magneton and Roselia, while still hitting and still hit as hard as possible. However, Eelektross loses a great amount of bulk if using this EV spread. Leftovers is the preferred choice because it allows Eelektross to switch up moves while regaining and regain crucial HP; though however, Choice Specs provides more power and give you a chance of 2HKOing gives Eelektross a chance to 2HKO walls such as Uxie, Spiritomb, and Cryogonal. Life Orb could be used for an in-between as a sort of middleground between Choice Specs and Leftovers, but the recoil counteracts Eelektross's main draw over other Electric-types: decent bulk from its (there's probably a less awkward way to say this if you'd prefer to phrase it differently) no weaknesses. Speaking of items, Expert Belt can be used since as it does not cause any recoil and Eelektross hits most of the tier for super effective damage, while not taking any recoil. However, Eelektross appreciates the additional healing from Leftovers or the additional power from Choice Specs more, and Eelektross it cannot hit many of its counters for super effective damage. Eelektross' Eelektross's fourth move slot is very adaptable and can be changed for the benefit of your team. Superpower can replace Thunderbolt since as it can 2HKO Normal-type Normal-types such as Bouffalant, Clefable, and Lickilicky, (remove comma) as well as OHKO OHKOing Cryogonal, and though a Mild nature should be used if running it. Acid Spray can be used over Volt Switch, as it acts as a pseudo Nasty Plot and can prove very useful since because Eelektross's other moves already provide neutral coverage.

Since As Eelektross forces many switches, entry hazard support from teammates such as Smeargle, Omastar, Scolipede (add comma) and Crustle are is recommended to put pressure on the opponent's team. Paralysis support from Pokemon such as Uxie, Slowking, and Druddigon is recommended to mitigate Eelektross Eelektross's horrendous Speed. Frail Pokemon such as Zangoose and Durant appreciate the Eelektross's slow Volt Switch, (remove comma) because it acts as provides a free switch-in, (remove comma) and activates the former's Toxic Orb. The only Pokemon in RU that resists all of Eelektross's moves is Druddigon, so powerful Steel-types such as Aggron and Escavalier that can tank hits from Druddigon while striking and strike back with their STABs make for good teammates. Samurott and Omastar are also great partners, as they can both strike Druddigon hard with Ice Beam, while also as well as luring Water- and Electric-types. Ice-types such as Rotom-F, Jynx (add comma) and Glaceon can OHKO Druddigon with Blizzard or Ice Beam. Eelektross also fits very well on Volturn VoltTurn teams, so Pokemon like such as Braviary, Rotom-C (add comma) and Mesprit are solid partners.

[SET]
name: Coil
move 1: Coil
move 2: ThunderPunch
move 3: Drain Punch
move 4: Substitute
item: Leftovers
nature: Careful
evs: 248 HP / 252 SpD / 8 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

This set takes a different approach from the offensive pivot. Here With this set, Eelektross utilizes its bulk and lack of weaknesses to take advantage of Coil and become an offensive and defensive threat. Despite ThunderPunch's low Base Power, it is a great STAB move and as it doesn't have recoil like Wild Charge does. Drain Punch works well in conjunction with ThunderPunch because it gives Eelektross extra coverage and against Pokemon such as Lanturn, Rotom-F (add comma) and Ferroseed, the former of which is immune to and the latter two are resistant which are all immune or resistant to ThunderPunch, and allow allows it to recover HP. . Substitute is a great option because with itsEelektross's great bulk, Eelektross's its Substitute can survive a hit from defensive Pokemon such as Slowking, Lanturn, and Tangrowth. In addition, Substitute lets Eelektross avoid status and set up with Coil with greater ease.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Max HP and Special Defense with a Careful nature is crucial because without maximum investment Eelektross's Substitute can not survive a hit from the Pokemon mentioned above, (remove comma) and Coil is boosting its Defense anyways. Zap Cannon can be an alternative to ThunderPunch since as it hits almost as hard (add comma) while making makes good use of the Coil's accuracy boost (add comma) and always paralyzes the opponent (add comma) but with it, Eelektross can easily can get PP stalled and lose to Calm Mind sweepers such as Uxie and Spiritomb. Furthermore, Zap Cannon has horrible accuracy before the Coil boost, and its power doesn't get increased by Coil, making it the inferior option overall. Dragon Tail is an acceptable option over Substitute because it forces out threats; if you choose that option, be sure to pair Eelektross up with entry hazard spreaders setters such as Ferroseed and Crustle. Aqua Tail may can be used as another attacking option, as you it can hit bulky Fire- and Ground-types, such as Golurk and Camerupt (the former of which is immune to both of Eelektross's other attacking moves), much harder, the former of which is immune to both of Eelektross' attacking moves. Eelektross is walled by defensive Pokemon such as Rotom, Amoonguss, and Golurk. Pokemon that carry appropriate coverage to check those kinds this kind of Pokemon, which includes including Entei, Rotom-C, and Moltrers Moltres, make great teammates. Both Entei and Moltres also help against Lilligant, who can cripple and set up on Eelektross with Sleep Powder and Quiver Dance, respectively. Finally, Eelektross appreciates Heal Bell and Wish support from Pokemon such as Clefable and Alomomola since as there are many Pokemon that can status Eelektross it before it sets up a Substitute.

[Other Options]

When looking at Eelektross you may might have noticed it has a higher Attack than Special Attack. You can opt to use Choice Band on Eelektross since as it has many physical moves such as Wild Charge, Superpower, U-turn (add comma) and Aqua Tail. The problem is that it is generally inferior to the offensive pivot set (add comma) which carries better coverage moves. Furthermore, Wild Charge has recoil, hampering Eelektross' Eelektross's bulk. Though it it's generally better to use the ones already listed, Eelektross has quite a few of other moves it can use but it's better to use the ones that are already listed. Dragon Claw stands out the most as it hits Druddigon, Fraxure (add comma) and Altaria super effectively, giving Eelektross a shot of at doing heavy damage to them. Charge Beam is Eelektross Eelektross's only way of raising its Special Attack, but it's better off attacking right off the bat with Thunderbolt or Volt Switch, and Charge Bem is outclassed by Acid Spray, which forces more switches and has a guaranteed effect. Eelektross has access to other moves such as Flash Cannon, Rock Slide, Signal Beam, and Crunch, but they don't add much to Eelektross's coverage. Finally, a defensive variant of Eelektross may be used since can be used as it has good bulk and moves such Toxic, Thunder Wave, and Light Screen to benefit teammates. However, Eelektross's lack of reliable recovery hinders its ability to go defensive.

[Checks and Counters]

Eelektross is very difficult to counter, as very few things can handle both the Coil and Offensive Pivot offensive pivot sets. Druddigon easily counters both sets since as it take takes little damage due to its sheer bulk and can phase phaze out Eelektross or hit it with a powerful Earthquake. Altaria can do a similar job, but it may might lose to the Coil set. Specially Defensive defensive Gallade handles the Offensive Pivot offensive pivot set well, while also outspeeding and crippling and can also outspeed and cripple the Coil set with Will-O-Wisp. Clefable and Lickilicky and can take any hits from the Offensive Pivot while wearing offensive pivot, wear down Eelektross with their attacks (add comma) and keep themselves healthy with Wish. Both Lickylicky Lickilicky and Clefable lose to the Coil set, (remove comma) however. The Coil set is easier to deal with because it is quite weak prior to any boosts boosting. Golurk completely walls the Coil set, only fearing the rare Aqua Tail, and can hit Eelektross hard with Shadow Punch. Taunt users such as Whimiscott and Misdreavus can prevent Eelektross from accumulating any boosts, and the former can even Encore Eelektross into Coil or Substitute. Quagsire stops Coil Eelektross completely because it can ignore ignores stat boosts thanks to its ability, Unaware. However, both Quagsire and Whimsicott lose to the Special special set. Choice Band users such as Emboar, Entei, and Aggron can all outspeed Eelektross and OHKO it with their STABs, despite maximum HP investment, but they can't handle Eelektross after a few Coil boosts.
